Poole's Store

My go-to for feed & animal care products. Always enjoy visiting. The store is an affiliate of Southern States & carries their products, which are excellent for ones I buy.

Always a treat. VA wines and beer. Fab breads and meats fresh local produce. Incredible bacon. The pre made sandwiches were excellent and fresh. Cards and local flowers. Yes. Stop and stock up for your adventures. It is the closest spot dependable before old rag.
There are picnic tables as well :)

we've been buying horse food, flowers, mulch, and more from poole's for over 30 years - - always friendly, stocked with great stuff, and a lovely location to boot. they have great snacks and sandwiches - plus a bench with a nice spot to sit right by the water. just a mile or so from the towpath, it's a favorite spot for locals.

There are two stores side by side. The feed store is open and popular. The historic general store closed 2011 and has now (mid-2019) been renovated and made ADA compliant by Montgomery Parks, prior to leasing it out.

Always have everything I need and they're always SO nice. We go there all the time for all of our bird/critter food related needs and we're never disappointed.

Everyone here is so friendly and they ALWAYS have everything we need for our animals and garden. If they don’t they find it and order it.

Nice little country store, struggling to survive Covid. Bought a bunch of vegetable plants for our garden.

Friendly - we buy rabbit food here - a little window into the area history is fun.

It was awesome. They are also in the process of an archaeological dig on a old Stone Mill discovered while fixing up the old store
