J. Macklin’s Grill

This place is very busy at lunch, but still has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff were friendly. Food was good quality and fresh.
I had the grilled cheese with tomato basil soup, and french fries. It was hot, fresh, and very tasty.
I would come back, and recommend this restaurant to others.

Great little place for any meal. They offer a great brunch on the weekends.

This was our first time here. The owner of Altered State across the street recommended it. We had a group of 6 and each of us ordered something different. The food was great. We had the shrimp and crawfish fondue, shrimp and grits, brisket nachos, brisket tacos, mango salmon, and one other dish with shrimp and rice that I cannot remember the name. The drinks and service were great and so was the atmosphere.

Came here for a friend's birthday, large group with an innumerable scattering of random small children. Friend's wife made reservations and they were able to accommodate us shortly after we all arrived.
The patio outside was set up really nice, the inside was similarly well set up and clean. This isn't a knock on this restaurant specifically, more just in general - most restaurants should look into adding acoustic panels or something that'll help control some of the ambient noise in the space, but I realize there's only so much you can do about a lot of people talking over each other in a relatively small enclosed space!
Our server was wonderful and the food was great. Prices were reasonable.
So this last bit - totally not hyperbole, every once in a while I get the craving for a good chicken fried steak and I saw someone else order it on the patio when I was waiting outside. So I ordered their chicken fried ribeye - and it turned out to be the best got dang chicken fried steak I've ever had in my 41 years of existence. The meat itself was tender and the crust was light, flaky, and crispy (perfectly fried). Green beans and mashed potatoes were a *bit* bland but overall - I would come back just to order this again.

Went on a beautiful evening a few weeks ago and sat on their patio for dinner as the sun was going down. The patio was just starting to empty out (we came at the end of dinner rush). Food was amazing, service was great. It was a really nice & relaxed atmosphere where you could tell everyone on the patio was enjoying themselves.

Hey, strange situation but a pub crawl rolled into JMACs and despite little notice and under staffed, Bri rocked it! Everyone was happy and well hydrated. Kudos to her and the entire staff for accommodating a huge party at such short notice. Love this place!

I woke up one Sunday craving a nice brunch, I found this place and they did not disappoint! I came around 10 AM and it was not too crowded. Since the weather was nice, I decided to have a seat out on the patio. There were a few other families out there and they are dog-friendly if you like to bring your fur baby. My server came promptly to take my drink order. I ordered a classic mimosa (only $3) and the chicken and waffles for my entrée. The food was delicious! My server was very nice and attentive and even the manager stopped by to check on me. I can’t wait to come back and try other dishes here.

UPDATE: I came back for brunch again this past Saturday with one of my girlfriends and I’m officially sold! I had a grapefruit mimosa and the French toast with a side of eggs and bacon. Everything was so good and our server was the sweetest.

Ordered a take out order. I’m not a local so I try lots of different food in all kinds of places. This one will definitely leave a mark. If you have time to stop in.. PLEASE DO YOUR STOMACH A FAVOR!!! Amazing staff great food.. Hats of to the amazing crewing they have there.

Food was fresh with high quality fish and shrimp, portion is perfect. Healthy yet delicious. Cesar salad could be better. I recommend the salmon with lemon mango sauce. And the Korean shrimp bowel. Service was beyond. Me and my family enjoyed the experience.

This locally owned restaurant never fails to deliver. They have a good standard menu with enough variety for all. On the afternoon we visited, they also offered a fried fish sandwich as a daily special that was very tasty. Great service without hovering.

My wife and I have had this restaurant on our bucket list. We finally had dinner there tonight. She had the Shrimp & Grits. I had the Hot Nashville Chicken. We both enjoyed our meals and our server was attentive. We also had the Truffle Parmesan Fries as an appetizer and it hit the spot. We will definitely be back soon.

Great choice for casual dinner. Had amazing apps ( buffalo eggrolls and ahi tuna are excellent!) had the mango salmon w green beans and a house red wine. Sat on the patio and service was great! Will definitely be back soon!

I tried the Prime Rib Dip sandwich on the patio.

The service was top-notch and the food was delicious. The mac & cheese was also really cheesy and very good. I will be back.

Food was really good and came out quickly. Everyone seemed very nice and attentive to their customers. It was our first time going and we will be going again.

Great environment; clean, quiet, and comfortable. Server was friendly and speed of the lunch service was outstanding.

Off the path restaurant, but a great eat, indeed. Love the service, Evelyn served with great efficiency and kept us at ease. Especially when the food was ready through the last bite.

I had the Queso & Chips, and the Southwest Quinoa Bowl (salad) for Lunch. It was really good, and there was plenty to take home enough for a second meal.

If you are looking for an elevated experience try J. Macklin's Grill. This place has some outstanding tex mex dishes as well as traditional home style. All with a unique delicious twist.

Thank you so much to Allison and Josh for being amazing! The food was so delicious and the attention to detail was on point. Had such a great time, I came back and brought my fiancé. We’ve just discovered J Macklins in the last year, and love going there. Always a great time with amazing food.

Our party of four visited on Sunday February 11th. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. But . . . . . . I know prices have increased but $5.00 for a cup of coffee???? No way that is justified. Then, one of my favorite breakfast items is simply biscuits and gravy. I have ordered that at J. Macklins many times in the past. In the past it was on the a la cart section of their menu but was removed. But it was still available if asked. So this time as usual, I asked for it and on the check it was the most expensive of all our party of 4 meals. $15 for two plain biscuits and a little dish of gravy????? WOW. Times have really changed and not for the better. The biscuits and gravy tasted great until I saw that.
