Trillium Café

The facilities have a somewhat run down look although this seems to be the vibe they are going for. Kind of that hole in the wall with great food feel. Everything was clean and kept up though. The food, appropriately enough, was quite good. My burger (their Trillium burger), cooked just right (medium) as requested was excellent. Juicy patty, soft bun, crisp bacon, and fresh fixings. Tater tots were crispy and well seasoned. They were somewhat busy for a late Sunday morning but service was still prompt and friendly. I intend on coming back when a craving for a good burger strikes.

When you go wine tasting in the Gorge, a must stop is the Trillium Cafe'. Best 1/2 burger for the price in Oregon. Add the cajun tots and curry soup and your taste buds will thank you all the way home.

We stopped just for a snack, but it turned into us having lunch. It’s been fun letting bartenders make our drinks based on what we like when we know there is a full bar.
The Mac and Cheese was listed as a Specialty on the menu, so I was ready to be impressed. Let me tell you. OMG. This was freaking amazing. It wasn’t full of extras, just the best ingredients. As much as I wanted to just sit and shovel it in my mouth, I made myself eat it very slow so I could enjoy and remember it forever.
My lunch companion’s meals were described as good and tasty. The fresh cut fries were really, really good.
Establishment was clean, the service was friendly and prompt.

Trillium Café in Hood River, Oregon is a little hole in the wall that has a cult-like following for their hamburgers. It is a local hangout that serves a small menu of bar food made up of appetizers, hamburgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, and a few specials. It’s also one of the few restaurants in Hood River that is open late at night, which is how I came to visit it.

I arrived in Hood River late at night, and was looking for a bite to eat before I went to my hotel. I had walked by Trillium Café many times over the years, but never visited because the menu looked like a lot of other restaurant menus, and I’m always on the lookout for something new.

Even though I arrived shortly before the kitchen closed, I was greeted warmly and provided excellent service.

My go-to when ordering a burger, is a classic Cheeseburger. I ordered The Standard - 1/2 pounder with lettuce, tomato, pickles, served on grilled bun, and added a slice of cheese. All burgers are made with Cascade Natural 100% Angus Beef. Burgers are served with your choice of hand cut fries, tater tots, or garden salad. I got the hand cut fries.

Wowza! Trillium Café makes an EXCELLENT Cheeseburger with Fries! First, I love that they know the importance of grilling/toasting the bun. The hamburger meat was fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned. The Tillamook cheddar cheese was nicely melted on top of my burger. The lettuce, tomato, and pickles were served off to the side so I could dress my burger as I liked. The fresh cut fries were excellent! It was one of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had in or anywhere near Hood River.

I’ve heard excellent things about their Fish & Chips, which is one of their three specialties, along with Meatloaf and Mac & Cheese. If you’re looking for a casual dining option, with a small but excellent menu, check out Trillium Café the next time you’re in Hood River.

Great food in a hole in the wall bar. The server was too pre occupied talking with co -worker so was not that attentive. Loved the Wild Things mural on the wall.

Friend in town from LA wanted to see Hood River. In party mode, Justin the bartender was great. Made the perfect white Russian. I was curious about the fried green beans.... better than zuke fries! Definitely try them.

OMG..Seriously One of the Best Burgers I have Ever had! M.O.S.S.! Get it! Super Great, Fresh and it is Still hot as i write this! Great chill place! Great Owner!

As middle eastern doesn't matter much i guess as a traveler, but i do hunt for rare and special/hidden gems around here. The trillium Cafe is one of them!! They have thunder island pale ale as local beer if I'm not mistaken its greaaattt!!!.
Nice staff/ owner chelsa is awesome bartender and a great host !! Aaannnd Great food, sliders burger works well as a munchie! Must pass by place.

The meatloaf dinner was great. It was a nice quiet Friday, which made it great, after a long drive. I will be coming back for sure.

The burgers are phenomenal and the house but fries are thick and seasoned very well. My husband had tater tots and he loved them. I had the club sandwich and it was so good the bread was perfectly toasted and the bacon was crisp and the veggies were fresh and tender. My daughter had the chicken parmesan sandwich and she loved it. The sauce was seasoned well and the cheese melted perfectly. We will definitely be back.

Kudos to the waitress. When we walked in there were a few tables of people but after about 15 minutes she was slammed. She managed to keep her cool, be organized and stay level headed with the huge influx of customers.

The food was good and seasoned well. The margarita 🍹 was on point. This is one of our favorite places to go in Hood River.

Food was excellent. Toddlers shared a meatloaf Mac and cheese (surprisingly delicious!) but the chicken charlie, spinach salad and those fries, O.M.G! And the service was on point. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

The blackened chicken burger was by far the best I've ever had. Service was great. Didn't really care to hear the manager/owner discussing previous hires and whether or not they would rehire for the coming season. The cook was passionate about his St. Patties Day special and it sounded like a delicious Irish Whisky stew.

Great little spot for lunch! Great specials, homemade tasting food and you're always greeted like you're a regular. Love stopping in here and filling up with good food, when we're in Hood River!

All three of us ordered different burgers and we all had a great meal. Fun atmosphere, great tunes and very nice staff.

Very good food, pleasantly surprised by everything. Great French Dip, wonderful meatloaf sandwich and some legit mac n cheese from scratch. Even the clam chowder was delicious. Can't fault any of the dishes we had and the atmosphere is casual and laid back. We'll definitely be back.

We ate here at a busy time, so it was a little louder than I like. But the atmosphere was otherwise very nice, and the servers were all friendly. The food was incredible. I got a chicken Charlie, and my partner got a turkey Reuben. Both were superb, and portions were very reasonable for the price. The house vinaigrette tastes like tart honey, which lended a lovely sweet and tangy touch to the meal. Our server was attentive without being pushy, and the service was quick considering how busy the restaurant was. I would definitely recommend you stop in here if you get the chance.

Great service and food. Fries were a little too salty. Coffee was excellent. Friend had a salty dog that was excellent. Nice set-up and comfy feel. Glad it was warm when we there in a really cold day. Female bartender (Cindy?) was serving tables too. Excellent service. I forgot to order my burger medium rare so it came out medium well. But it was juicy enough that I didn't even think of it til I was halfway through. I was also surprised the lettuce wedge was so tasty. It looks a little weird but tasted GREAT. And came out in plenty of time before my meal.
