I love this little market. All kinds of great stuff here, including organic produce. But what I mainly come for is the amazing selection of meat that they raise on their farm. They've got beef, pork, and chicken. They've also got a great selection of locally sourced dairy. To top it off, they're all so friendly!

I am a business owner and an Eclectic witch who happened to be drawn to taking sample products into this location and on the outside you would not expect to walk in to a absolutely gorgeous a little store. One of her co-workers and makes oils that are very hard to come by including at an affordable price so I had to snag a couple. If you are vegan or a health-conscious person driving through this is the place to stop. Hands-down absolutely adorable vegan shop with handmade essential oils.

I love that everything they have is healthy quality food! It's my favorite stop in the area. Their pre-made food is quite yummy too!

A great selection of local farm products, along with other organic and sustainable groceries. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Their whole chickens make the greatest roast chickens I've had.

I love this place! I always leave feeling more positive about life. Margaret is a wonderful person and a terrific cook. They always have the yummiest fresh soups, cookies, and their fresh juice and made from scratch pizza is to die for! If you are in a hurry, call in and ask them to throw a slice in the oven for you and it will be ready when you get their. The pizza is a delicious spelt flour crust and is topped with a different combination of veggies and made from scratch vegan cheeses. Yum!!

We didn't *need* anything but that was besides the point. This little grocery store is packed full with delicious and local items. Try the goat cheeses crafted at a nearby farm, or the mead in beautiful bottles, or maybe some loose leaf tea to complete your camping trip into Mt. Hood National Forest? They have both the necessary items, and the special items that make trips to this region so memorable. In the parking lot there's also few food trucks to whet your appetite. All together, a great little spot to stop & resupply.

There's no healthier place than Mothers to buy food in Hood River. Everything is organic and vegan. This includes the delicious prepared food that you can enjoy there.

Ok. By no means am I a vegan, but my friend brought me here and I fell in love. Susan's cheese is probably the greatest thing to happen to my sandwiches ever.

We tried ginger shots at work and now we use them for all busy days. Really cool experience no matter who you are.

Fantastic food! Great people! Every dish is a delight. Run by 7th day adventists, one of the "blue zone" populations - they live long, healthy lives. So indulge at Mothers. Even the "milk shakes", and pizza are good for you.

I love treebird market. It is everything I loved about mothers plus everything I always wished I could buy there. The dairy is wonderful, but the meat is quite literally the best. I hardly grocery shop anywhere else.

I LOVE mothers, and my partner and I eat and shop there with extreme frequency. It is the only entirely Vegan grocery store and lunch cafe in the entire Hood River area, and I cannot express in words how happy it makes me. They have rotating kombucha on tap, as well as a selection of home-made soups that are TO DIE FOR (the Hungarian Mushroom is an intense favorite for many, including myself). There are sandwiches, several showcasing Hood River's own Tofurkey products, as well as hummus wraps and salads...all pre-made and ready to grab and go. The smoothie/juice bar is available in back for those who prefer their lunch liquified.

OH, and they also make vegan pizza, with an assortment of random toppings - no requests, you just get what they make that day - and the house-made cheezy tahini sauce they put on top makes regular cheese cry with shame. But good luck getting the pizza...they don't make a lot, and the two of us have usually cleared them out of it by 1pm. :) Maybe they'll start making more.

Mother's also makes a whole slew of their own delicious products: Toum (aka Garlic Crack), assorted tahini "cheez" sauces and ground nut butters. In the back they have a bulk section and refrigerators that house bags of carob nut clusters (carob has never tasted this good) and assorted nuts (the Spicy Thai Cashews are a favorite).

If you go to other grocery stores and ask for items that make the employees give you blank "Huh?" stares, Mother's is the place that will know what you're talking about and likely have it in stock. They've been a staple in the Gorge for many years, and I hope many, many, MANY more. Give them a visit next time you're in town. The staff and the products are FANTASTIC.
