What a fabulous new experience on the Mt Hood Railroad--the Phantom of the Rails Halloween Train! We took the 4:00 train, which was awesome because the Fall colors in the Hood River Valley were in full display. The seats were super comfortable, the views incredible, the staff super nice... and the actors were fantastic! They did an excellent job. Such a creative event... with acting on the train and also at our final destination (The Fruit Company). We were thoroughly entertained, with the perfect mix of spook and humor. Next up were the zombie dancers and they were amazing! Such incredible talent... and the make up--WOW! We also got a chance to look through the Fruit Company Store, try some apple cider, take in the view of Mt Hood & Mt Adams (INCREDIBLE) and more. My next trip will be on the 7:00 train to experience what the performances are like when it's dark outside. This is definitely a trip worth doing. Something unique & fun!

I went on the new Halloween train and it was SO amazing. I rode on the 4:00pm train ride so the fall colors were so beautiful. When we got to the Fruit company they had a fall themed store and the best part of all was a Halloween themed flash mob. The whole time we were kept entertained by all the amazing actors on and off the train. I would love to go again on the 7:00pm train to get the full spooky experience but I am so glad I went in the day so I could see all the sights. They offered food and drinks on and off the train for purchase. I think that anyone who comes to Hood River this fall should take a ride on the Mt. Hood Railroad.

We just finished our very first Phantom Train Halloween excursion! It was a blast, the actors were amazing, the atmosphere was spooky without going overboard, and it was an enjoyable evening. The only recommendation that I would have had would be to open the bar completely and provide more food (You will want to eat before you take this excursion as the snack tray is not enough to be considered a meal.) It can be a bit costly if you do the VIP tour but no more so than any other adventure.

Very fun for kids! We took the Polar Express holiday themed train ride just before Christmas and had so much fun. You will encounter fairy’s and elf’s and a gingerbread man aboard the train. Along with lots of dancing and singing while also being served hot chocolate and a cookie. The train ride was best at night because you get to see the Christmas lights as you approach “Santa clause’s house at the North Pole”. Santa and Mrs. Clause even aboard the train and took pictures with the kiddos. The ride last about 1hr 20min. Parking is right out front of the station, purchase online in advance. Enjoy and Happy holidays! 🎄👍

Our Rail-Bike experience is definitely the shining star of our stay in the Gorge. The staff was wonderful ~ friendly and helpful. The scenery is Mother Nature at her very best. Our stop @ The Fruit Company gave us more than enough time to indulge and purchase fresh pears, apples and peaches ~ DELISH! The views of Mt. Hood and Mts. Adams were spectacular. THANK YOU so very much for a perfect morning!

Our experience on the Christmas train was truly delightful. My children were absolutely thrilled with all the festive activities and couldn't get enough of the delicious hot chocolate and scrumptious cookies. The atmosphere was brimming with holiday cheer and we were all completely immersed in the joyful spirit of the season.we will definitely do it again in the future

Such a wonderful experience! Everyone working here is so lovely and the apple orchard you travel to is family owned ♥ The apples are otherworldly! Crisp and dense with juice yet soft and amazing. This is the perfect selfcare trip if you want to get out of the city and see the beauty of Mt. Hood. I only wish I could’ve stayed at the layover for longer, that hours goes by so quick!

A fun and unique experience! The stop at the Fruit Company/Mt. Hood Winery was a neat addition to the adventure. We had an crew that provided some railroad history and kept us safe along the way. Definitely would do again!

The Mt Hood Railroad did not disappoint when we took our grandloves on their first train ride ever! We also enjoyed the scenic trip to the Fruit Country.
The conductor was very animated, knowledgeable, and fun to listen to as he introduced what adventures to expect before getting on the train at the train station and throughout the train ride. A huge bonus was when he punched out our grandloves’ initials on their personal boarding pass, just like as if we were on the Polar Express! He also put his conductor hat on them for a picture moment! The train hosts, Vetta & Drew were very cheerful, personable, and helpful throughout the train ride and at the fruit store. After the train started we were offered chocolate covered cherries or mixed nuts. Yum!
A pleasant and very delicious surprise! As we pulled into the tree farm we could see huge warehouses nestled within the tree & grape orchards . Everything was green with beautiful mountains in the background. Picnic areas with various games were available for a quick lunch before heading back to Hood River. The store was loaded with souvenirs and fruit. Overall the train ride was a fun experience for the whole family. And if you color & address one of their postcards, they will mail it for you.

The service, experience, and overall event was so fun and enjoyable. We had a great time pedaling, enjoying the landscape, and visiting the gift shop and winery.

This is a great date option, couples retreat, or girls day out adventure!

Awesome time! Great new information about the area!! Recommend the end of the train because it has its own large public seating area for small kids to crawl around! It was the old hospital car! We stopped at a old fruit storage place and winery! It was so beautiful to see Mt. Adams and Mt. Hood at the same time!

When is the last time you genuinely had young kid excitement? Mt. Hood Railroad delivers this in spades on their e-rail bike adventure. Pedaling on the tracks, with all the e-assist you could want, was so much fun. The scenery, the history of the track, and the adventure up to The Fruit Company (who is rumored to be extending the track up into Parkdale - - - PLEASE do this!!!) were incredible.

Your halfway point leaves you options to tour the museum, get some fresh fruit, enjoy some of the snacks they provide, try some great wines from Mt. Hood Winery, and just soak up the mountain views! Yes, plural as Hood shines to the south and Adams from the North.

From there back it's essentially all down hill with the biggest smile on your face.

So much fun! A great way to see hood river from a unique perspective. Enough of the route is shaded and you move pretty quickly so fun to do even if it's hot. You stop for 45min at the fruit company so we had time to taste wine at the winery next door. Everyone was super friendly and the guides
were really into making sure that you had a good time. If you don't want to pedal the bikes are electric so you can sit back and zoom along!

If you’re in the Mount Hood area do this! You’ll get stunning views and a unique experience. We did this on a girls trip and it was one of our favorite things we’ve ever done! No matter your fitness level you’ll be fine because there’s adjustable power assist

We loved our ride! You can both pedal or e-ride, depending on your mood/exertion throughout the ride. Make sure to roll up your pant legs & wear shoes that don't have long laces (chain is exposed), otherwise super fun & would recommend to all! ✨
