Super cool old hotel. Spendy but worth it. Awesome staff. Had a great time. Comfy bed. Quiet at night. From the river side of the hotel you can't hear the freeway.

Loved my visit to Columbia Gorge Hotel. My room was cozy and the bed was comfortable w plenty of extra pillows stashed in the closet! The view from my room was lovely. Staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautiful even in the snow, and it was easy to get into town for dining and a little shopping in Hood River.

This hotel is a beautiful hidden gem along the Columbia River Gorge! The grounds were beautifully manicured with flowering plants, trees, and waterfall! The riverfront views are amazing! The inside of the hotel was beautifully decorated, our room was comfortable, including the bed and pillows, and the staff was very friendly. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and it was appealing and delicious. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend! I would stay here again!

The hotel was easy to find and easy to access. Right off of the main road out that way. Since the elevator is over 100 years old, you need staff assistance. We just walked up to the 2nd floor. The lines on the stairs can make your eyes bug out and cause vertigo. Use the handrail! Our room was tucked in the corner on the far left of the hotel. We had a garden view and could see a small part of the stream. It was our only choice during the booking. The room was large, decorated nicely, and clean. I would even consider it 'huge' compared to a lot of other hotel rooms. Even the bathroom was huge. Everything looked in good shape but kept with the old-timey feel. We walked the grounds and enjoyed the peace, quiet, and views without plans to do anything else. If we had to complain about anything, we would say that our dinner wasn't all that. The mushroom ravioli and the steak were not up to par in our opinion. We've had better for way cheaper. Breakfast was fine but we were charged $8 for coffee. Instead, we should have walked out the door to the complimentary coffee in the lobby. Service, however, was excellent. All the staff was great. Our other gripe would be that the bed was a little hard, but hey, it's a hotel. You get what you get. At least it was clean! We could have stayed another night but had to get back. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We spent two nights at the hotel. From check in to check out the staff was helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. Our room overlooked the river. It was spacious, nicely decorated and very clean. We enjoyed drinks from the bar and sat on the beautiful outdoor patio. The gardens are lovely. A very relaxing and enjoyable stay for a Hood River get away.

Everything was absolutely wonderful. The beauty of this place made you feel like you were in France somewhere wonderful.
Had a late arrival, we were hungry and the restaurant was closing at 8:00 pm. With only a few minutes until restaurant closed, they were kind enough to seat us for a late dinner. The coconut chicken, potato skins, seafood pasta and cream Brulé cheesecake were all fabulous. Everything tasted so fresh. The staff were exceptional. We cannot wait to go back in October.

Beautiful hotel, great views of the gorge. My wife and I especially enjoyed walking around the grounds and finding many cozy places to sit and enjoy the scenery. Very romantic place for a getaway, even if you live just down the road or are visiting for a short while!

Came here 30 years ago for our honeymoon and have come back 3 times since. Hotel has gone through some changes but we've always enjoyed our stay and couldn't be happier with the accommodations. Only wish is they would bring back the Farm Breakfast!

1st time here! A magical place, with a rich history, breathtaking views of the Gorge, very clean rooms, spacious, and the best part is the romantic atmosphere ♥ the whimsical walk through their cliff side trails and gardens! We had a romantic room #214. We only came for a night and need to come back to try their on-site restaurant and bar. Love this place!

Place is a gem. Business as usual on going renovation at moment. But it looks fantastic. The new modern is mixed with classic and antique design it is one of the kind. Plus it has its own water fall in the back of the hotel. So so pretty out here.

My wife and I spent an over nighter for an anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it there. The Hotel itself is an old historic building with a wonderful view of the Columbia River. It is a great place to relax and explore their 7 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. The meals there were excellent. The rooms are just right size for the two of us, very comfortable. If you like a nightcap as we do, the Lounge is open until 9 pm. you can sit out side and watch the river and enjoy the warm are. I would recommend anyone to go there for any occasion.

We spent the night at the Columbia Gorge Hotel for my wife's birthday. We stayed in a riverside room, with a fireplace. Incredible views of the Columbia River. We had supper at the restaurant there as well. Food was unique and delicious. Great place. Treat yourself and book a night at the Columbia Gorge Hotel.

This is a GORGEOUS historic building, beautifully redone in rad art deco! The location couldn't be better and the grounds are amazing. There are so many places to stroll and enjoy the views of the gorge and the waterfall and plenty of places to sit and enjoy a drink/snack/conversation while watching the sunrise or sunset. Yes, you can watch both the sunrise and the sunset over the gorge from the grounds of the hotel. It was very hot when we stayed, but the room was well air conditioned. Wifi worked well, parking was easy. Beds, shower, TV- all great. It's worth knowing that the evelator doesn't work great- you have to ring a doorbell and wait for someone to come get you if you're not okay with taking the stairs. Also would have enjoyed coffee available in the lobby or rooms. But overall, SO charming and comfortable!

This review is long overdue! My partner and I stayed in the hotel back in May 2023 and to this day this was the best hotel experience we’ve ever had. We owe so so much of this experience to Donna!! Donna, is an expert in hospitality. She made us feel welcomed, supported, taken care of — all the things you’d ever want from customer service at a hotel. She is excellent! The perfect balance of extraordinarily professional and personable! Donna, if you’re reading this know Kevin and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We will be back and it’s so thanks to you!

I’m so happy to see this historic hotel so gorgeously renovated. The beds are so comfortable, great shower, the rooms are clean and well appointed. And the grounds around the hotel are unmatched. We had super fluffy pancakes for breakfast while looking out at an incredible view. Our two school-aged girls loved the decor, breakfast, grounds and historic elevator. We’ll be back soon!

We loved everything about this quaint, beautiful, and stately hotel. Our only regret is we were just passing thru one night and did not realize that this hotel is a destination all of it’s own. The location is spectacular and full of trails that lead to secret gardens and waterfalls. The hotel restaurant is first class and the service is amazing. Huge recommend and we plan to be back!

This place was stunning! They are just finishing up renovations so it is historic with a chic modern vibe. With it being winter we were able to get a river view room at a great price. So happy to have gotten a chance to finally stay here and see all the updates.
The views and grounds are beautiful. There is a waterfall right outside that we could see from our room and train tracks but hardly noticeable noise.
The lounge is very open and offers a variety of seating arrangements making it great to spend some time in. The staff was all very kind, room was clean and had a large closet with a fridge. It was quite chilly throughout the hotel, especially in the restaurant and lounge and hallways, although it is winter and temps were down in the teens at night. Definitely would stay here again! Just down the road from downtown hood river too.

A great and cozy place to stay, with a soothing waterfall on the riverside. The carpet on the stairs was a bit dizzying, but that's my only gripe.

I loved this hotel! It is so quaint and the staff and manager are so friendly and accommodating. The history behind this hotel is very interesting and the atmosphere is designed around its historic theme. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The restaurant is delicious for both dinner and breakfast. Also, don’t miss walking around the grounds, they are breathtaking! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone

Historic hotel with modern amenities. My room was a river side king with a fireplace. Beautiful view of the river and could hear the waterfall. The bathroom has been completely updated and it beautiful.

The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful, full of information about this historic property. There was an error on the rate I direct booked with the hotel. They contacted me about a week before and we were able to amicably settle on an acceptable rate.

If you're looking for happening nightlife, this probably isn't the place for you, but if you are seeking peaceful tranquility with modern flair, CGH is the perfect place for you!
