Blue 5 Restaurant

The apple salad was amazing! The flank steak was a winner too! Neither desert was great but they were decent. The baked brie was mostly breading from the pastry. Most of the items we got were from a restuarant week special and may not be offered at other times. The service was great. I will be back.

This bar is a little farther than the rest of those centered in Roanoke, but worth the few extra steps. They have a cool overlook, section that affords a nice view of everything. Service was great, and Chris was the man behind the bar. The food mix was the classic bar fare, with a few specials and local favorites.

I had the chicken and waffle sandwich with beer battered fries and my friend had the pork chop, Swiss chard and macaroni pie.... AMAZING!!!! Fried cookie dough finished off the meal!!! Equally AMAZING!!!

Blue 5 is a fantastic restaurant with really good food and a beer selection not only large, but also not super expensive. Great place to meet and just have a few drinks with friends. Love the atmosphere and the live bands are usually very good as well. Never had a bad experience with waitstaff or barstaff either.

It is restaurant week. The meal was great. Our server was perfect. The atmosphere is inviting. The food is upscale but the setting is relaxed.

Great food, service and live music, at least when we visited on a Saturday evening. Loved the local beer as well. A gem in Roanoke.

The food here is incredible. When I worked downtown before I moved away this was a happy hour spot with some girlfriends. Live music on the weekends made it a pretty decent date spot. It saved me from dull conversations more than once. I went back about a week ago on a trip back home and found it just as enjoyable. Right down to one of the most passionate bartenders I've seen in years. Highly recommend.

The hubs and I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Service is top notch, food excellent, and the music is always on point.

Pricey, but a perfect date night venue. It's American food you can respect! The brussel sprouts appetizer and the ribs have been the highlights of my 2 visits there--2 of the best food dishes I've ever had. Nice live music venue with a good sound system and operator. Atmosphere is unique but clean. You can be comfortable there wearing jeans or a 3-piece suit. Highly recommended!

The food is very good, live music makes for an entertaining evening. Make reservations for 8pm or later if you plan on sticking around for any live performance. They also have a pretty good selection of craft beer.

Really great bar staff and a good selection of brews. The outside seating area is nice for a break and while I only tried the sweet potato fries they were darned good. I found the music a bit loud for the venue size but it was obvious I was the only one. (The music was jammin', just a bit loud)

I highly recommend this place.

The staff is friendly and very attentive and this place always has an excellent choice of entrees and beverages and when they have a band it's pretty fun to relax then listen to them. I have attended several upscale events on the second floor of this venue and they were amazing! Highly recommended they really need to do something about the parking situation.

The music is awesome, the drinks were well mixed, and the atmosphere was electric. The band playing was having a good time performing, and the audience bounced the good energy back. Definitely will be attending again sometime soon.

By far one of the best restaurants I've eaten in. Best beer selection in town. The food is amazing every time. Their staff is always on top of their game. Always knowledgable about the products and always enhance our dining experience. If there were a way to rate this place with unlimited stars I would. The next time you are in downtown Roanoke, do yourself (and your belly) a favor and go to Blue 5!

We are not locals, but wish we were. This place is excellent. The beer selection (50 taps) is excellent, and the food was just as good. We had the crab cakes on fried green tomatoes and the black and blue salad. Both were amazing, and memorable.

We had a small destination wedding on a beach, and had a large reception back home at Blue 5 a week later. We had originally booked the Red Room downstairs, which is a speak-easy style, with cocktail tables and a dark decor of red and black. It's adorable, and perfect for a good party, but the new White Room on the 2nd floor happened to have a cancellation days before our event, and Blue 5 offered for us to move up there instead. We took one look at the room and jumped at the chance :) The White Room is large and open, with gorgeous hardwood floors and huge windows on two sides, overlooking the Roanoke municipal building and Kirk Ave. It has a large bar with 4 beer taps and beautiful highlight lighting throughout the room. We had a rustic beach theme to our decor, with shells, burlap, and white candles, and it worked perfectly on the white table cloths. As the sun went down, the ambiance was fantastic. It was a nice day so we had the windows open, and was such a nice atmosphere. The staff was fantastic - our guests had nothing to say but nice things, and one of the bartenders checked on me (the bride) every 30 mins or so, to see if I needed a drink or just some water. Without her, I might have passed out from dehydration, I was so busy and kept forgetting to drink :) The food was fantastic (we highly recommend the meatballs and the jambalaya dip!) and the timing of refills was perfect. Most of all, Angela was so helpful in both the planning and execution of our event. She met up with us about 2 weeks out and finalized all the details, from the music (we just used their Pandora option), to the setup of the room, to what food and drink we would serve, and even a quote of the price that was right in our range, and the night came in at that price by the end. We could not have been happier with our event at Blue 5, and so many of our friends and family commented on how beautiful the room is and how nice the evening was, we would definitely recommend Blue 5!
