I had to have my heel reconstructed and my Achilles tendon reattached which I was dreading immensely. Dr. Zelen reassured me multiple times that he had done this numerous times and I would be up and on my feet and 6 to 8 weeks, and I was. I could not have asked for better support, a more professional team, or a better surgeon than I had with Dr. Zelen. My recovery has been smooth and my follow up visits even smoother. Five out of five stars would highly recommend Dr. Zelen.

I Give Dr. Zellum 5 stars because he has been absolutely wonderful caring for me. He literally saved my foot when my body rejected the titanium and my foot became infected. He has been my podiatrist specialist since 2007. I would recommend anyone to go to him. He does amazing work and completely reconstructed my foot from a genetic disorder I have had since birth. He and his team truly care about each and every patient. Highly recommended!

I can’t thank Dr Zelen enough for the treatment of my foot and ankle with the Lisfranc Fracture I suffered. I went to the ER on a Sunday and got In to see Dr Zelen on Tuesday and was scheduled for Surgery the following Thursday. It was a long road to recovery but he and his staff were there for me the whole time. I would not hesitate to refer anyone here for treatment and happy to share my experiences. I am having absolutely no issues with my foot and ankle and it has been 7 years since my fall. I am a very happy patient!!!

Dr. Zelen was able to Replace my Ankle, even though I had other Podiatrist tell me my Ankle was going to need Fussed Together. I was so happy when Dr. Zelen said that he could replace it. I didn't have much pain from surgery through the healing Process. I give Dr. Charles Zelen an A+ Grade...

Dr. Zelen has to be one of the best surgeons in the country.He did my ankle replacement in 2014 when most podiatrists thought a fusion was the answer. I had the ankle x-rayed 4 months ago and after close to eight years still looks great. I had my second ankle replacement in December and am walking with almost no pain and just finishing PT. I am almost ready for pickleball!

My husband has been seeing Dr. Zelen for a couple of years now. After being told his foot was fine by a Doctor in West Virginia, the only saving grace from the injury has been Dr. Zelen. Dr. Zelen looked at the images and instantly corrected my husband's issues with his ankle. We most certainly would never trust the Doctors in West Virginia to do such an intense surgery that this truly amazing Doctor has done.

In addition to helping him with the injury, this was a work place injury. Dr. Zelen and his staff was amazing when billing and working with workers comp. All around a great group and amazing to work with.

There are not enough words to describe how amazing Dr Zelen and his staff are. I have been a patient of Dr Zelen's for 12 years, With A rare condition that no other Dr Was Ever Able To Diagnosis. Dr Zelen walked in the room on the first day and was able to finally tell me what it was. Together with his surgical teams, I am finally not living in pain everyday. You can not go wrong with Dr Zelen and his amazing clinic.

My husband had several years of foot and ankle problems before we got to Dr. Zellen. The previous doctor wanted to amputate his leg below the knee. We decided to go for a second opinion and ended up in Dr. Zellen's office. We couldn't have made a better decision. Dr. Zellen and his entire staff - from front office, nurses, fellows - they treated us like family from day one. Dr. Zellen operated and replaced the original hardware in my husband's leg and foot and started him on the road to recovery. It has been 2 years and his leg has healed. We are now waiting for a brace that he will wear for the rest of his life to protect his leg but he is walking on both of his legs! What a miracle!! Without Dr. Zellen and his staff we would not be where we are today. We cannot thank him enough for his kind and professional treatment. He is a good Christian man and cares about his patients. We cannot give him enough accolades. Thank you Dr. Zellen!!

Dr. C Zelen has been great we have seen many Doctors for my wife's big toe that needed a joint replacement, all the other doctors would only do is a fushion.
They also would not recommend a doctor out of their network.

Dr Zelen is without a doubt one of the best foot surgeons in the country. I had a severe case of charcot. Because of my neuropathy, I had no idea what was happening to my foot. By the time I got to him, my ankle had completely collapsed. I was refereed to him via the VA. The podiatrist there said my damage was well beyond what they could do for me. I will forever be grateful to both the VA in Salem, Virginia for all there support and care throughout this process. Dr Zelen was able to have my foot and all throughout the process was always very reassuring and helpful in answering all my questions. His entire staff has also been fantastic over the last year. At 54, I was not ready to lose my foot and thanks to Dr Zelen, his fellowship doctors, his entire support staff and the excellent care i received at LewishGale Hospital, I still have it.

Dr Zelen replaced the large arthritic joint that attaches the big toe to the foot. The arthritic joint was very painful & had created a large hump on the top of my left foot.
He treated me with kindness & concern. Thank you for your professional treatment!

I still can't walk normal after having surgery over 6 months ago. so much pain that I have to live with . I wish I never would have had surgery . My condition has become much worse than it was before surgery. The staff is pleasant but the outcome has been disappointing, have not even seen Dr. Z since my first initial visit. I just follow up with his staff.
