Fredric was able to consult over the phone, without the costly 100.00 dollar visit, that every other electrician was requiring. He answered the phone directly as well. Fredric has been in the business for many years and has the experience and know how that you are looking for. I highly recommend Fredric, and will call him for all of my electric needs in the future. It is difficult to find quality people that are fair with your money; look no further, Fredric is your man. I would give 10 stars if I could!

I contacted Frederic about a circuit breaker connected to our refrigerator and our stove, that "popped" twice in 5 days. Frederic responded immediately, with the suggestion to plug the refrigerator on an independent outlet. So far so good...Frederic's concern was for us not to spend money on a house call if not necessary. We appreciate his honesty!

I called Fredric when I triggered the electrical breakers due to using too many appliances at the same time. At the time I was new in the US and had no experience with US breakers. Fredric was very helpful and guided me on how to reset the breakers. That saved me paying for the electrician to come by and fix it in person (he didn't charge me for the over the phone service). I plan to hire Fredric for a bigger electrical job as I was impressed by his competence and thoughtfulness.

This company literally saved our lives. Our housecleaner discovered that the dishwasher plug under the sink was blackened. I called Frederic and he responded immediately. Within 24 hours, Julio (the most charming tradesman I've worked with in 37 years in Berkeley) came, installed a new GFI outlet and dishwasher plug. Our house could have burned down. And the price was very reasonable. Highly, highly recommended!

I called Fredric's Electric for a second opinion after a big company told me that I needed to spend around $10,000 to replace the entire outdoor electrical panel. Fredric was great to work with - extremely responsive and was able to fit me in right away. He is both an expert in his field and a great communicator. He explained in detail exactly what the situation was and determined that there were repairs he could do -- the entire panel did not need to be replaced at this time. The repairs he did were effective and cost less then 1/20th the price of installing a new panel. Hassle free! I will call Fredric for all of my future electrical work.

Fredrick was amazingly helpful. I had questions about installing a tankless electric water heater. He walked me through a complicated process, reviewed pictures of my electrical panel/main breaker and helped me make an informed decision. Ultimately I went the tank route which didn’t require extensive rewiring. Oh, did I mention he didn’t charge me for all the advice? I’ll use him every time I need work done…I owe him.

We needed an emergency fix as our house power was out. Called Fredric's first thing in the morning, and they delayed going to their scheduled job in order to help us. Julio came around quickly and determined our 200amp circuit breaker needed replacement. He and Fredric (by phone) worked together to see if a replacement part could be procured, and as it turned out, the parts supplier had one in stock, so Julio drove to pick it up and returned to make the replacement. We are very happy with the professionalism, friendliness and responsiveness of Fredric's Electric and highly recommend them.

Fredrick installed and upgraded our sub panels in our garage so we could run an electric kiln- he was exceptionally knowledgeable and it is clear that he values doing the best work for his clients . He made sure that our new outlets were the proper ones-swapping out a car charger outlet for a new outlet that runs our kiln, which required some specialized research. He was thorough in testing and making sure that the work was safe and functional before finishing the work quickly and efficiently. He also helped me with rewiring electrical issues around the garage.

I was very happy that he shared the abundance of knowledge that you can only gain from being in business for 50 years.

We wouldn’t hesitate to trust his business with any future Electrical work- I am sure he has seen just about everything.

Excellent work on a complicated installation of a new socket. Recently I called to have someone come out to check what I though was faulty wiring in the bathroom. Turns out they talked me through the process for checking the circuit breaker and the GFI and I saved the service fee of about $100. I will certainly use them again.

Frederic responded the same morning I called him, and he came to view the electric upgrade project I had in mind that afternoon. Frederic was very generous with his time and knowledge, as he explored different options for the work. Ultimately, he recommended against doing the work, and he offered me a simple solution that I could complete myself. Frederic would not accept money for this hour-long consultation. In my opinion, Frederic demonstrated his expertise and his integrity, and I would not hesitate to call him for any future electrical work.

50 years of experience actually means something! Frederic was able to figure out a quick and efficient way to add a a 240 line I needed for an electric dryer in my older Berkeley house. Frederic returned my initial call within a couple of hours, came over the same day, and scheduled the work for a few days later. The whole process couldn't have been easier. Frederic and his partner Julio are great people and I recommend them whole-heatedly.

Even though I couldn't afford to have an electrician come install my ceiling light, Fredric took time out of his day to assess the job via photos I sent him, and explain, step by step, how to do it myself. He was kind and funny and I recommend his expertise :)

I've known and worked with Fredric Fierstein for almost fifty years. Fred's a solid businessman, an artist, a craftsman, and -- most importantly for you -- an electrician. It's hard to imagine a circuit or wiring job from the most minor to the most extensive that Fred and his journeypersons couldn't handle. You don't need an electrician every day, if their work is solid; so it's nice for you to know that Fredric's Electric has been on the job for a while now. Our biggest job was when we needed a subpanel to enhance the capabilities of the garage; their solution was an elegant raceway that doubles as a spicerack!! That was long enough ago, that might have been before Google Reviews! But just the other day, a circuit failed and we needed help in a hurry; Fredric's Electric responded promptly enough and analyzed the problem -- which was actually a little tricky -- immediately and fixed it within a couple hours so the bill was totally reasonable. I used Fredric's Electric in October, 2021, to expand the electrical service in my building to allow for the addition of a central heating/air conditioning system. Fredric and his assistant, Julio, were professional, on time, easy to work with and successfully completed the installation of the electrical upgrades. I have no complaints and would use them again.
