Cedar Market

We've visited the Cedar Market every Sunday to pickup the NYTimes for years. They are reliable, trustworthy and purveyors of wonderful samosas. I can't recommend them enough.

I liked it how the employees are very nice. I was looking for pumpkin seeds, so i asked one of the employees for help, and she was so nice to me, she showed me where the packages of pumpkin seeds where and also told me that they have the bulk seeds container has a second option.
Oh, and the cashier was also very nice by making a coment about what I was going to buy, saying that it was a very good choice.

Savy is great! Clean shop and a good selection of items to choose from. Highly recommend.

All of the basic shelf stable items, plus an incredible selection of Indian spices (mix of whole and ground) and dal (lentils). Millennials: GT’s kombucha on tap, hot samosas, and TCHO chocolate. And a UPS pickup/drop off point. You can get all your neighborhood business done here!

Spices include but are not limited to: fennel seeds, fenugreek, mustard seeds, green cardamom pods, black cardamom, turmeric, garam masala, curry powder, chili powder... the list goes on and on...

The couple who owns this bodega are awesome. Good sense of humor, fair in their business, reasonable prices. Nice beer selection and I seem to do well on the scratchers from this store. Don't know why, but I do.

Standard corner store at first glance but with a few niche items that keep me coming back. Their entire back wall has some of the most diverse beverage options I've seen and I always try something new. They also have a great selection of South Asian spices/ingredients. All my favorite curry mixes are from here.

Great little corner store, they type that everyone needs near by. Nice mix of the stuff you need, and a few things that you just might want. Fantastic people running THEIR little shop. Also a FedEx and UPS drop off point. Nice to pick up your packages while you are not home, and do not want them left on the porch.

I'm really glad that the new owners took on this business recently. We have been the neighborhood since 2001 and rarely visited this store. Now I go a couple times per month.

The quintessential mom and pops neighborhood corner store. The previous owners, some nice Chinese folk, I remember from my childhood, had been there for over 50 years when the new owners bought the store. This is the ideal store when you're in a rush and you need a quick breakfast, coffee, and a newspaper, or it's the end of the day and you need some dinner, a beer, and maybe some Tylenol.
They will carry items if you are a regular (I'm not sure if this was a good idea for me since I like Lemonheads) and ask, they recently installed a Peet's coffee service, for quick drive-by's, and a nice selection of wines and beers for the locals. Really nice people own this store.

Pretty cool neighborhood market that's perfectly located. Lots of snack and meal options here and they cater to the Berkeley lifestyle with vegan and organic options. Cool selection of Indian and other foreign foods. We picked up some Kona coffee, baklava, Berkeley farms milk and glazed donuts. All good. Staff was kind and helpful.

This market is a North Berkeley gem. The people are so nice and the samosas are divine! They have all the usual corner store necessities , some unexpected nice surprises and Indian spices too!

Great beer selection. Seriously. And pretty inexpensive for a corner market situation. People seemed to be enjoying the coffee. And the woman who has regular ly helped me is lovely.

These folks have fresh daily Somosa's - need I say more? Really they are very nice and friendly people. They have an interesting array of goods including wines, cheeses and bottled smoothies, sodas from out of the norm companies, variety of health drinks, juices, waters and a few I don't know what the heck they are! Some fresh fruits. And a Pete's coffee machine that churns out 'Awesomeness'! I love this place. A great little corner store. Lastly I dont even live near this store but have done work in the area. Anytime I get get close I stop say hi, get a somosa and something to drink providing I'm not broke. Thats it.

Got some rice there that was made from vegetables i guess and was delicious and when you add it to boiling water you immediately take it off the heat and let it sit for 12 mins and its done. 1 cup to 1.5 cups water.
