The breakfast here was very good. They cooked the eggs perfectly over medium as requested. The pancakes were huge and fluffy. The sausage patty was cooked just right and tasty. I haven't had bacon this good in a long time. It was smokey and just salty enough, and was cooked to perfection, as it was just slightly crispy on the edges and tender everywhere else. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and the potatoes were soft on the inside, but could have used some salt while being cooked. Overall, I give this plane five stars. I'll definitely eat here again if I'm in the area.

We loved this place so much. The service was amazing even though they were very busy, the food was amazing and the deco was adorable. I would stop in hood River when driving by just to go eat here.

One of my favorite spots to grab breakfast in Hood River. The food is always very flavorful and they have wonderful weekly specials. Service is always fast!

Wonderfully kind wait staff, good food with good sized portions and excellent sides. Staff are super kind. Only issue is that the booth was a little cracked, we were sat in a odd spot, and the menu might need some modifications (pepper/chorizo on the hangover burger)

We arrived around 1 in the afternoon and we did not have to wait to be seated. The food was very good and the service was very good. The dishes were quite well served. For people with a good appetite. good place for breakfast.

Delicious home cooked meal. My Florentine Eggs Benedict with South Gate and H and mushrooms was outstanding… Especially because I ordered it with Canadian bacon! And the home style with potatoes, onions, and peppers scrumptious! I recommend this little hole in the wall.

If you’re looking for an old school diner in a good way, this is it. Professional staff run it well, great service, lots of choices on the menu with substitutions. They accommodated our small dog with an outside table, as we are staying locally and can’t leave him in the cabin. They also have gluten free and some egg white options for those with dietary needs. Just be aware it’s a diner, and I think they may use the typical saturated oils but I forgot to check. Locally owned and the decor is cute kitschy chickens and some Mexican art, which we find charming. We had the Huevos Racheros and Eggs Benedict, perfect before heading out for a day of cider tasting.

Absolutely fantastic place for breakfast. Plentiful portions of great food. We had 3 items - Chili Relleno breakfast tacos rich mole eggs on corn tacos with pico, queso, creamy avocado. Vegetable scramble with vegetables in every bite and crunchy hash browns. Full stack of fluffy pancakes. It was the best breakfast we had in a very long time. Cost about $45 for three of us. Would definitely go back.

So many different choices of food from regular American to some popular Mexican dishes and multiple veggie plates as well. Very nice staff, good service and food came out very fast. Hashbrowns could of been more crispy but the house potatoes were great.

Wow! This breakfast/lunch place never disappoint! Went for Easter breakfast. I had the skirt steak with chilaquiles with a fresh green tomatillo sauce and two over easy eggs. Coffee was bottomless and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting a solid tasty meal.

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on our way home from Cascade Locks. We could tell by how busy this restaurant was, that it had to be good. It's not good... it's great! Vast menu options from classic American breakfast to some Latin American dishes and everything in-between. They have a full bar option too and the cocktail list looked very well thought-out. We just had coffee as we were traveling but next (definitely going to be a next time) I'll try one of their drinks. Food is very well prepared and the staff was efficient and attentive.

Views of mount Saint Helen’s from the window. Delicious breakfast with consciously chosen ingredients. Loved the huevos rancheros and the burrito! Been here twice and will come back again.

Egg River Cafe ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

On 5/18/22, I had breakfast at Egg River Cafe in Hood River, Oregon. They serve breakfast and lunch. It is my favorite Hood River spot for breakfast. I think it’s much better than Bette’s Place, which is another local favorite. In addition to having great Eggs Benedict ($13.95), I appreciated that they gave me cream for my coffee ($3.50) at no extra charge. And the service is always excellent. My server, Laura, was very warm and friendly. So was the nice young woman who accommodated my request for a booth with a window. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant, the food, and the people who work there.

Highly Recommended!!!

This place feels like home. A very busy home where people are willing to wait, willing to take the next seat or booth ready just because the food and options are so great.

A good breakfast place is tough to find in my opinion. Either it’s a greasy spoon diner, or a overly fancy place that takes away from the quality or ingredients that people crave. Egg River cafe not only has an incredibly large and diverse menu, but they offer everything from the basics to the most sophisticated options. I am simple, I can go for a Egg or two, some bacon and a cup of coffee and be content. My wife, she prefers the Eggs Benedict, add spinach and tomato. Bring the hot sauce and we are both happy.

Next time, I am definitely getting a skillet or the fried chicken and waffles

It’s busy, be patient, they also serve good sized portions, bring some home…don’t waste.

Parking lot was packed(always a good sign). Minimal wait time. Our waitress Carolina was prompt and attentive. Atmosphere is homey and comfortable. Now, let's talk food. I'm generally skeptical about ordering at a new place. This place exceeded my expectations in everyway. Huge portions, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Definitely worth a stop

Food was great! My husband and I were splitting the Denver omelette and added a pancake. They brought an extra, smaller pancake, saying that was not enough to share (but it was) Enjoyable family atmosphere and plenty of menu options!

First time visiting. Smelled wonderful walking in the front doors! Super cute place. We were seated right away though it looked very busy walking in. Service was very prompt and friendly. Cute little country chicken theme. Food was absolutely delicious, well seasoned, cooked perfectly, country gravy was heaven, fresh fruit was the best I've had in a while. I can now see why the place is always busy when we drive by. Definitely worth a visit if in the area. We will be visiting again for sure. Parking can be tricky. Three parking in front of the building additional parking across the street.

Great service, great coffee, even had almond milk. (The wife was happy) The meals were all, big portions and amazing flavor. Sausage biscuit was really tasty and nice touch with sausage crumbles. Not pictured huge banana pancake, was super thick, yet fluffy... delicious!

Absolutely delicious food. The white gravy had a lovely peppery flavor. Omelettes had just the right amount of cheese- not too overwhelming. Veggies in the omelettes were fresh and flavorful.
