Armida's Bakery and Cafe (Formerly Muffin Mania)

Organic bakery in the heart of San Rafael. I came upon this cozy cottage looking place when I got off the beaten path of 4th street.

Worth finding!
Coffee and hot and cold sandwiches available but the variety of baked goods was so creative … I went for the sweets… the banana Meyer lremon bread/cake is a standout. And I loved loved loved the whole wheat very muffin.

Incredible flavors and healthy ingredients! Yay! . I no longer have to be sad that Arizmendi is gone from the San Rafael scene.

What a gem…. They even have an upright piano and a children’s books and game corner.
I’ll be back!😊

We were impressed by everything we ordered from the egg sandwich to the wacky cake. Then we had a long conversation with the owner and knew why... She knows what she's doing when it comes to pastries! Will come back

We like to discover new places and this is our new found gem.
Almond crossiant is amazing, as are all the delicacies and coffee we tried. The atmosphere is very local and relaxed. It was fabulous chatting with Armida and her love for the community. I would recommend each and everyone of you to give a visit to this lovely cafe space. Perfect to have a sip of coffee or have conversation at this lovely place.

My walking friend and myself were fortunate to visit this special place during a mid-weekday morning.
The breakfast crowd had earlier selected their favorite muffin and pastry. In return, we selected the last one or two of several items. All were delicious!
My friend enjoyed an espresso while I ordered a hot chocolate. This 12 Oz $4.50 beverage was served in a warm mug. It was perfectly made with Ghirardelli chocolate and Clover milk. Yum!

Went to Muffin Mania once, and the muffins were seriously disappointing. I never went back. Today, I tried one of the pastries from Armida’s and am blown away. It’s crispy, moist, and just perfectly crafted. The place is very cute and homey inside too. I’ll be coming back this time :)

Great breakfast options with muffins and other baked goodies. I had an awesome croissant breakfast sandwich. There is outside seating as well, like a backyard. Very quaint. Friendly staff.

Been meaning to try this place forever since I pass by often. Finally stopped in and I've been kicking myself for not going sooner. The morning bun flavors are varied and we tried a bunch, none of which were anything short of delicious. Going to have to stop by more often.

I don't like muffins. But i ordered one to be a sport bc my friend did, and the employee/owner was really nice. Well, i don't know what these people did to my muffin, but it was the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. The texture, the moisture, the right amount of fruit...i don't get it, they looked fairly average sitting in the case, but, wow. Good coffee too.

Awesome. Delicious muffins. 10/10 food especially the cherry Garcia and ham & cheese bun. Only hangup is the last 2/3 times I went the place was closed and this was not posted online. The website isn't really updated. But aside from that absolutely delicious and sweet place.

Muffin Mania is better than ever! I have been going to Muffin Mania for almost 30 years, and now it's under its third owner -- and while I love and miss the former owners, I am blown away at what the new owner Armida has brought to the table. The case is loaded not only with all the classic muffins, morning buns and Rocky Rolls, but Armida is also baking all kinds of scones, turnovers, small pies, galettes, cookies and other pastries.

Lunch at Muffin Mania was always the best kept secret, and they've managed to up their game there too. Now there is house-roasted turkey and chicken thighs on the sandwiches (all made on delicious house-baked bread and rolls) and I love the roast veggie sandwich.

Extra points because the old staff has stayed on, including my man Matt and Miguel in the kitchen.

Way to go, Muffin Mania! Keep on rockin!

Ordered two eggs for pick up . It was hot and ready when I got there . Delicious! And great service. Highly recommend. Next time I’ll dine in it’s such a cute little cafe

Heaven on earth, if you love croissants. Wow.... some people have remarked on how they are better here than in Paris, and quite frankly, I have to agree.

The rest of the baked goods are delicious as well.... morning rolls are awesome. And the sandwiches they do make me want to eat two lunches.

Great prices, and warm and wonderful service.

Know the owner of this great breakfast/lunch place. He has done a terrific job renovating this long-standing neighborhood hang-out. Food is very tasty, everything is fresh. Only minor complaint is that it is a bit pricey—but in line with Marin.

I love this place ! Bakery and so much more! I just had the most dee-lish arugula, mixed green salad with roasted chicken! This is my favorite salad !!!!

Chorizo burrito, Mixed Berry Galette, Boysenberry Muffin, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and even the tea, all fantastic.

Gotta rename this place... So much more than muffins! Burgers, tacos, fish and chips, and more! Everyone that works here is extremely friendly as well. Hit this place up anytime of the day.
