Fort Baker

Its walking paths are very beautiful, the views are spectacular and you can take beautiful photographs from there of the city of San Francisco, Alcatraz Island and the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge.

We were taking family back to the airport and decided to take a quick stop here. WOW. Incredible views of the Golden Gate Bridge, SF and the entire Bay.

Unbelievable place! The views and sights are spectacular! This is my heaven! Or at least my top 5 happiest/beautiful places I have ever had the honor of visiting.

What a fantastic spot to see the Golden Gate Bridge plus the surrounding waters. A short walk on the breakwater and a short hike up a staircase for an even higher viewpoint.

Great spot for amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, hiking and visiting historic sites. Make sure to visit Cavallo Point Resort for a meal in one of their two fantastic restaurants!

In my opinion, the bes place to go and take pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. We were there around 5-6PM and it was great timing as there was not much people around. Plenty of parking. I think other people go here to spend some time and not only for picture taking.

Bring a sweater, it gets cold down there.

Keep in mind that you’ll have to pay for the e-toll on the way back to San Francisco.

After the hidden walk along the edge of fort Baker is this mini strip where yes the most excellent pictures of the Golden Gate Happen. Hidden and divine!

Fort Baker is a beautiful place with free and plentiful parking. It's conveniently located near the Bay Area Discovery Museum, making it a fantastic outing. Highly recommended!

Worth a visit. Only came for pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. Great spot to see it. Easy drive and parking is free. Depending on time and day, no one was there Friday sunset. Couple people took pictures of their sports cars at this location. Cold as usual. Love the sight of beach pebbles n water.

Most people don't think to come down here, but its an incredible view of the Golden Gate, the Bay Bridge, the whole city, and seal sightings! Breathtaking with few tourists.

Beautiful area just north of the Golden Gate bridge. On a clear day you have beautiful views of the bridge and of San Francisco. Lots of nice walking trails. Also, there are lots of other areas to drive around just minutes away to get other perspectives of the bay and the bridge.

Fort Baker was originally part of the fortifications to protect the Golden Gate from attack. Now it's part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Horseshoe Bay has a marina and a fishing pier. The waterfront has a fantastic view of the Golden Gate Bridge. The major points of interest are the Coast Guard dock, a boutique hotel, and the Bay Area Discovery museum. Today we visited the Travis Marina Bar at the Presidio Yatch Club. The bar is open to everyone and it is a comfortable casual spot. They have a short menu if you're hungry and they often offer live music.

Great place to escape to. Some very unique views of San Francisco and the Golden Gate from here. There is a great hands on children's museum nearby.

Winery and Redwood tour by Best Bay Area Tours was great. John I believe was great very knowledgeable about area and winery around. Highly recommend.

Good views and great drive

Amazing place. It was a relaxing mode experience. Coast Guards all over. Very good place to go. Portable restrooms are available. But bring your own sanitizer and alcohol for
The smell.

Loved the hike. View was amazing. Even though I am currently trying to heal from lower back pain I was still able to walk around ok and found places to sit and rest on the way

Beautiful view! Definitely recommend traveling all around to check out the different angles of the bridge. Be aware the traffic is crazy!

Beautiful views much less packed then other SF bridge overlook. There’s a cool dive bar at the marina there. It’s a nice place to spend a couple hours.

My first time visiting the San Francisco area and all I can tell you is that it was like a dream come true. Summer time there is always fog in the morning and evening covering the golden gate bridge but there are times when you get amazing lighting. Super windy on top of the hill but incredible views. Definitely a bucket list place!
