Reading some of these reviews, its hard to believe I received care in the same place. I had excellent treatment in this facility. I went to the ER after having difficulty breathing which was diagnosed there as pneumonia. I waited 10 minutes in the lobby, then went to registration and straight from there into a room. My ER nurse Carlton was caring, explained how I would be evaluated and I received a series of tests and was examined by the doctor. Within 3 hours they had diagnosed the pneumonia, then after another couple of tests and some time waiting was sent to a bed upstairs. I never experienced what I thought was an unnecessary wait. Sure there were times I was waiting, but I also could hear ambulances arriving frequently and I think what some of the previous reviewers might not have fully grasped is some of those people arriving by ambulance could have life threatening injuries and those people could and should get the immediate care they need, even when it delays care to those of us without such severe injuries or conditions. I ended up being admitted and staying 4 days. almost every staff member, particularly the nurses and specialists were caring, informed, encouraged me to ask questions, responded promptly when I rang my bell, and if I asked for pain medication, it was quick to arrive. My nurse Tara even arranged for me to have a neck massage for my arthritis! The food was healthy and pretty tasty, I was able to have fresh berries and a fresh salad with every meal. I had a private room the entire time and if I closed the door, it was very quiet. I was very impressed and completely satisfied with the care that I received and would recommend them 100% to anyone having a medical emergency.

Family member is a patient here. I spent 4 days with her on two different floors. I can not overstate how impressed we were on how wonderful the staff is. They repeatedly exceeded expectations. Thank you. Thank you

I had a stroke but thought it was just a bad migraine. I refused to go to ER because I don't like going to the hospital. Finally agreed to let my daughter take me 4 days later. I was sent to ICU at Marin General. It was a wonderful experience. The facilities look new and are very nice. The best part of my stay was the staff. Doctors, nurses, technicians were all great. Very caring and I would recommend this hospital to everyone.

It’s a great facility!

Update:

The hospital cafeteria is doing so well. On 2/23/24 the salmon, vegetables and gnocchi were delicious. Thank you so much

First time here for a hospital ambulatory surgery. From start to finish this was an example of how it can be done. Great caring staff, kudos to your HR and managers for putting such good teams together both for pre-op and post-op. Hands down one of the best hospitals I've been to and I'm 74.

I was hospitalized here several times in the psych unit. the food was good and i enjoyed the other patients. i later had case management here when i participated in star court. there was a problem with the case manager who seemed to be coming onto me saying 'i want to spend time 'alone' with you' i should have complained to judge kelly vieira simmons. i have recovered from mental health. some of the nurses were really nice to me in psych.

I went to the Labor and Delivery unit yesterday and was SO impressed by the care I received. First of all, the ward is absolutely beautiful - everything is so high-tech, spotless and comfortable. Secondly, the nurse who greeted me and treated me throughout my triage (Heather) was so kind, supportive, helpful and professional. So was the doctor who saw me (Dr. Streeter). We are visiting from out of town for the holidays so I was hesitant to go to a hospital that was unfamiliar to me, but I couldn't have had a more positive experience. Thank you to their entire staff for the incredible work they do!

I wish I could give the emergency room staff and all the nurses and doctors who worked on me over the weekend more than 5 stars, because they deserve it. They made sure I was as comfortable as possible despite all the blood draws and tests. Anytime I hit the nurse call/assistance button someone was at my bedside in less than 5 minutes. While I hope I never have to go back there, if I do I can rest assured that I am in good hands.

I cannot say enough about the care I received in the emergency room. From the triage nurses to the outstanding doctors and technicians who performed x-rays, lab work, and a CT scan. ER visits can be daunting, particularly when unaccompanied.
I was treated with the utmost respect, shown empathy, was correctly diagnosed and made comfortable the entire time I was there which ended up being about eight hours. Most importantly the nurses as well as Dr. Gromm listen to me regarding my symptoms and overall health concerns. Having had a couple of minor day procedures/ screenings in the past several years I have always received above standard care, however this was my first visit as an emergency room patient.
I would like to make specific mention and gratitude to Dr. Edward Grom. He was thorough, kind, ordered and explained the need for all tests. I had been dealing with pretty significant pain due to pneumonia that was previously diagnosed elsewhere that was ignored by my primary care physician and I am so grateful I listened to / followed my intuition and I made the decision to visit the emergency room and I feel confident that I will fully recover. I highly recommend this hospital. thank you again for providing compassionate and excellent care.

Entering the emergency department from the parking lot at midnight, after a 5 hour wait with numerous beds available, then my named is finally called. I would have been better having a paramedic assess my condition while I was experiencing the traumatic situation earlier at Sloat Garden Center, which is literally around the corner!!! It’s after 6am now, time for a cup of coffee.

Was there to pick up a friend who was in a horrible car accident. The security officer took me up to her room when I arrived so I wouldn't get lost. He went out of his way to do so and the floor-cleaning gentleman brought us back down right to where I was parked. So extremely nice and helpful

Best hospital ever the nurses and doctors and other staff are so sweet, and help you with anything you come into the hospital for. They even have a good sense of humor so that your not all down. Best hospital and I will definitely go back when I have a medical need. I will always choose Marin Health over any hospital when it comes to my care.

Marin General saved my life December 19, 2021 when I found myself being transferred to the facility when I suffered a heart attack. Then they provided a taxi voucher for me to return home when stranded and my insurance would not help me get home. The staff was efficient, professional and kind to me. I am eternally grateful for their help as they went above and beyond for me. Bless you all. Merry Christmas and happy holidays.

I went there for two CTScans, and even though I was in a helpless position, the two assistants, Janelle and Brianna made it cozy and fearless, even providing me with a warm blanket. Thank you all so very much!!!

I've been on the cardio unit on two occasions, the first January 1, 2016, and the second when I was released March 1, 2016. This time I had a bed by the window on the third floor. I liked that very much, for I enjoyed the view, but especially because the natural light helped my spirits greatly!

The nurses were very kind to me, and responded quickly anytime I had a need. I also had questions, and the nurses had to be patient with me on a few occasion: when I was overtired, or even just not feeling well and plainly confused.

The Doctors were just great, and when I had my Stent put in the operation went right first time. Where the procedure took place was a big room, and I was what is called awake throughout even though I couldn't tell very of what was what. So thanks for the skill of the surgeon and the nurses.

I was so glad for the prayers of friends, and Church asking that medical people be guided in their work of healing.

I was also delighted with Marin General Hospital, and its medical people. I was so happy with their care, and their active way of keeping me comforted and comfortable. Thank goodness for their attitude.

Nurse Linda D. of the recovery room was very nice to me and very patient. She did her best to help me feel better after I woke up from anesthesia, as well took the time to call the doctor for further help to minimize side effects. I highly recommend her.

I have never reviewed a hospital facility, but feel absolutely compelled to for this one. I went into the ER last night and found out I've been fighting a month with pneumonia. I work in EMS, so we don't readily dive into the doctor's office. The staff, from admissions, triage, to the PA and RN who directly took care of me, were absolutely 100% fantastic. All of you were professional, courteous and did your jobs perfectly. To my RN, you asked if I felt any better as I was leaving. Unfortunately, it was 4 o clock in the morning and my body was just wrecked. I told you, meh, not really. Today, I feel 100% better. You're a Rockstar. Thank you and the rest of the staff at Marin Gen for a 5 star experience. Your friend from Texas

The nurses at this hospital are amazing and at the end of the day they are the ones who can make or break your experience. Over 12 days in ICU each and everyone provided excellent care for my husband. They answered all my questions called me at home with updates and refilled my tea whenever needed. Nurses rule!
