They merge the old Rodriguez grocery store and the bakery to become Lara’s bakery and market.
They moved to a different location and it’s very nice, clean, and it’s got all your typically trimmings.

The best pastries! Pick up a tray, grab the tongs, fill up your tray, and take it to the checkout. Most items are less than $1.50. Please go try them.

Wow! Pastries are sooooo good, fresh, and a large selection. Also- amazingly inexpensive!! Got this entire plate of yummies for $6. Try this place - delicious.

My family and I came here for dessert. Their baked goods were delicious! Great prices, variety, and service. Next time I’m in the area, I’m definitely stopping by again.

They have the best snacks and breads here! I get a huge variety of things here from spices to shampoo, everything is priced pretty fairly and the store is clean and the employees are really helpful.

The baked goods are exceptional. Mexican cookies have a more subtle flavor--they don't beat you over the head like American cookies. It may be an acquired taste, but I acquired it immediately! Some of the staff is not up to speed on English, but they will fetch someone who is if need be. I do my best to speak Spanish when I go there.

Fresh food and daily baked Mexican bread

My first time here and I can't say enough good things about this market! The Carne Al Pastor and fresh Crema Salvaorenea was absolutely OUTSTANDING! I assume the cinnamon crispies were as well as I didn't get a chance to try them (my family devored them all before I had a chance to taste them! )
They were screaming busy as it was Christmas Eve day, but the cashier was beyond sweet and helpful.
We will definitely be repeat customers!

Mi favorita panadería en Urbandale! Tienen galletitas y conchas muy deliciosas. This is the best Mexican bakery in Urbandale and I recommend it 100%. Small store but nice selection. Just make sure you don’t go on a Wednesday because they’re closed.

You're killing my diet! I'm craving more. Sometimes if you don't speak Spanish, the attendant will go in back to get some one who does, but they might be in the middle of making something. be patient, it's worth it. Not nearly as sweet as most americans are used to, but if that's what you want, krispy crème is next door.

They have this amazing bread that you can't get any where else in town call Pan De polka or something close to that. This is also a tiny grocery store so win win!

A favorite for fresh-baked, authentic sweet cookies and breads and cakes. Reasonably priced and always great service. A gem!
