Room With A View - Apartments

I was here 20 years ago and our apartment was gorgeous. I came back 5 years ago and we had a beautiful apartment as well, with a balcony. During this stay we were given a large studio apartment (room 432) and it was nice, but it did seem a little dated. However, it was quiet (the street noise was not bad) , the beds were very comfortable and it was clean. It had a small kitchenette which was sufficient for our needs. It also had a jacuzzi with a handheld shower head, as well as a fixed shower nozzle above. This might have been great for a younger couple, but for us it was not ideal as the jacuzzi was very slippery and it made it difficult to take a simple shower. But we managed. Otherwise, most of the staff was friendly and they were very responsive to emails prior to our arrival. The location can’t be beat. They also allowed us early check in and luggage storage before check in and after check out which was greatly appreciated. But do not expect there to be someone at the front desk all the time. There is a code for the door and another for your apartment and you kind of do your own thing. This worked out fine for us. And we did have a room with a very nice view. We enjoyed our stay overall and would probably stay here again.

This hotel is in the perfect location, it is in the middle of all the best restaurants/bars and cafes. It’s a great place to stay if you want to explore the city, the space was extremely clean and cozy. The self check in was easy, and if we had any questions the hosts were very responsive. Every hotel in the city is very expensive, Room with a View is an affordable option that is worth the money!

Great room in a amazing location. Close to gifts, pubs and restaurant. There's no free parking area, but they give us a information about the best way to park the car.

Excellent location. Clean and quiet rooms to allow for a good night's rest! Beds were extremely comfortable and the room was spacious

Room with a view is somewhat hidden. It's on the main shopping street. There is a single door with the name above it. We missed it walking by it a couple of times. It's location, however, is excellent since everything is around it. The tour place is just down the street. A bar that is a library is right next door where they have live music every night. While this may bug some people, it did not bother us. I doubt it will bother you either. Its hard to sleep while visiting in the summer, so you may be out past when they stop playing as it is. If you visit in the summer try to get a room with a balcony. The views are great but also you get the balcony door which helps with air flow. There are no fans or A/C here. This will be our preferred hotel due to location when we come back from here on out.

Perfect place right in the middle of town! Comfy room, comfy bed, relaxing, sauna, nice staff! Free unlimited coffee, breakfast as well. Bathroom was clean, little noisy at night but very great overall. In the middle of tourist season so probably not as noisy during winter.

A great place in the heart of the Reykjavik tourist district. The room was nicer than expected, and on the 5th floor we really had a view. Note that for a cruise ship passenger, the district is about 4km from the cruise terminal. Also, the door to the hotel is hard to find, it’s easy to walk past it.

But a nice place, I’d stay here again.

Lovely spacious and comfortable room right in the centre of town. I saw some reviewers mentioned noise, this didn't seem a problem for me. Friendly receptionist too. Really impressed, would stay again

Front desk is not serviced. Booking -in is done via phone. I found it easy to check in on my own but found others ( Spanish speaking) people struggling at the entrance.

Great location, well equipped room with kitchenette. Clean and specious. Helpful staff.

Rooms clean and comfy.

Although you can easily walk past the entrance, there is no missing the warm and inviting atmosphere once entered. We were lucky enough to have an ocean facing room on the top floor with a huge balcony overlooking the ocean and mountains. The staff can warm up a hot tub for you whenever you like. The hospitality is just brilliant. During my stay, I unfortunately fell ill and the manager drove me to the emergency department herself. I cannot thank her enough and would highly recommend this centrally located hotel to anyone visiting iceland.

Great room for a good price in a good location. One of the best mattresses I ever slept on in a hotel and an amazing shower. The view (for Room With A View) was a little disappointing 😂 but the accommodations are great! Ps: free coffee, tea and water in the lobby 🤩

Very nice place to stay. Near the church. They don't have free parking though, so need to consider that if you're renting a car. They also have free coffee at the lobby.

You can also purchase breakfast for 2500 ISK per person

Lovely hotel near the main pedestrian street. We were surprised positively by given an upgrade to our reservation and a room from the top floor. The penthouse was huge and view above Reykjavik was spot on. There was a balcony with view to two sides of the house and a jacuzzi for our private use which was used often. The room had areas for bed, sofa/living room, kitchen and a dinner table. What a place.

Great location, rooms were very nice, corridors could do with a lick of paint. 24hr checkin was useful for late flight. It is on the main shopping high street in near to the old town and within easy walking distance of most of the attractions. Road access is limited so if booking a taxi you would need to meet them 20 metres up the road. Taxi to Viking Village is about £40 (Sep 2019). Church is about 15min walk, lots to see on way.

Good price and clean rooms. Appreciated having a shower in our room, which is difficult when you're in Iceland, as most rooms at this price do not include a private washroom. Very difficult to find, it's only a small doorway and there isn't a very big sign either. Staff was lovely and very helpful.

Lovely hotel! Nice hot tub on the rooftop and gorgeous spa like shower area. Very relaxing after a long flight. Room was very clean, bed and linens were soft and cozy. Wish i could stay longer.

Celebrated a friend‘s birthday in Iceland. As the group went from 8 to 34 people we needed several apartments: room with a view offered us a great option to stay together in the same building but in several apartments! The Penthouse had a wonderful view with amazing jacuzzi for 5! Loved it as they also organised all the excursions. Super centrally located, good value for money in a clean minimalistic designed apartments with a view!

The room was spacious and nicely maintined. The reception is manned 24 hours a day.
The location is great, there are many shops and cafes around.
There were small things lacking; the shower water pressure was inconsistent and kind of hard to shower in.
Other than that, great experience!
