A very nice museum, the largest in Europe, in which we will see 23 pounding on their natural scale in the underwater world. In addition, you can move into the sea world with all senses.

These are whales, pounding floating in Icelandic waters. A very nice museum, where we can see the real size of whales and feel how tiny we are in the world. Ticket 4300 kron

Free flow touring with the audio guide. Learnt so much about whales!!! Some of their sizes are so overwhelming! And the arts are really nice at the end👍🏻

Absolutely loved it in here, it's definitely worth making time to watch the documentary too if possible! Incredibly fascinating. The audio guide is engaging and informative and there is a fun little quiz that gets you a certificate at the end

So very informative! The audio tour is a must and really helps expand on the experience. The movie is an hour long, and I also recommend it. The life size replicas of all the different types of cetaceans are amazing! Really puts things in perspective. There is a small gift shop and a small cafe too. Highly recommend if you are interested in sea life.

Very interesting museum with plenty of learning to do about whales. Being able to connect to the online guide via my own wireless earbuds was a plus.

Nice museum. Very interesting and informative. I asked our museum guide about the many whale deaths in USA this year because of NY Post statement:
"2023 has already set records for whale deaths in the waters of New York and New Jersey. Among the possible culprits: shipping bringing our online orders, and, some campaigners fear, preparation work for wind turbines." The guide confirmed wind turbines were the likely culprit messing with a whales interior "sonar" that guide them to their yearly migration routes. He also said whales see the ships and move out of the way.

The life-sized models and movie were worth the price of admission. Cute gift shop and snack bar, too. Easy to walk around interior.

Really awesome educational spot and great place to get away from the cold! Huge whale replicas and lots of information! Fun activities for kids and adults who act like kids!

You get free entry when you do a whale watching tour. I was going to skip it but I'm really glad I took advantage of the free entry! The audio guide is great and the displays are honestly really fun to see. It helps a lot to put the size of the whales in perspective, especially after seeing just a small fin poking up out of the water. Staff were nice at the facility, it was clean, and the gift shop had great stuff for kids.

A fascinating display of whales in the form of lifesize models and an excellent audio commentary played on your phone. We got 20% off a whale watching trip as a bonus. Nice cafe too.

We visited Whales of Iceland yesterday and had a fantastic time. It was so interesting and informative. The Whale models are absolutely huge and the was a 1 hour documentary about the impact humans have on the oceans and how it is impacting Whales, Dolphins and fish! Really good visit and would highly recommend!

The replicas and associated information were great! It really put their size into perspective. The movie was also very informative and there was a little play area shaped as a whale for the kids to climb on.

We visited this museum as we had some time to kill in Reykjavik on our last day. As it was close to the food market as well as the chocolate factory, we chose to go to the whales of Iceland. We did not regret it. This museum is the future of zoos. No animals in captivity, but you get a very good feeling of them. The exhibition was very detailed, the audio guide was very detailed and gave us a lot of information on the whales living around Iceland. It was mesmerizing to see how huge these beautiful animals are. Would definitely recommend to visit this place. It is quite expensive, though. But in my eyes, worth the price. Even (or especially) if some of the comments here that a museum with live Exponates is cheaper..
the movie that is shown abt 4 times a day is also worth watching. Very interesting, but also kind of disturbing in what way we influence the oceans without even knowing.

Seeing the size of these models in real life is very impressive, and very different from seeing the animals on a screen

We got our Whales of Iceland ticket from Special Tours as an add-on to the Puffin Express. It was as if a bunch of realistic life-sized whales were hanging from the ceiling like Christmas tree ornaments. They were well made and intimidating. It was quiet in there and can walk around at your own pace. There are audio guides you can follow on your phones as well as interactive games. 5⭐s because my teenagers liked it too!

Had a great time in a large group. They do a guided tour twice a day (at the time of writing 11:00 and 15:30), I highly recommend ensuring you a arrive at a time when the tour is happening as it adds a lot to the cost of entry.

The guide was great, took a lot questions and you could tell they were very passionate about the topic.

There is an hour long movie to also watch once an hour. An interactive display and many life size models. The cafe let us bring a coffee into the movie. You can stay as long as you like.

I stopped in here because the friend I was with really wanted to see it, she loves whales. I actually had a great time. Seeing the model whales in actual size was wonderful. The video that was shown in the side room was sad, but important.

I wouldn't say it's necessary to stop here, but I did enjoy it.

Fascinating museum that is well worth a visit when in Reykjavik. It was amazing to be so close to life-sized models of whales and dolphins and to learn so much about them. The museum itself took about 1-1.5hrs but there was a free cinema viewing included in the ticket price.
