The experience is quick, simple, and smooth. There are easy setup instructions to get you started, but the staff at the entrance are helpful.

There are plenty of bags for you to buy if you don’t bring something along.

Tracking is impressive and I have repeatedly picked up and put back down items without any issue for billing.

The shop is a little smaller than most Tesco Express stores but it has everything I need.

Honestly dont understand people complaining about having to download an app and register just to shop, it takes as much effort as installing Candy Crush to be honest.
Loved the experience, and was genuinely surprised as to how accurate the system is, it's a tad weird at first just picking up items off the shelf and dropping them in a bag and walking out, feels a little like you are shoplifting, but once you get over that it's just really simple.
Staff have always been helpful and friendly so I think those complaining about rude staff are more likely complaining that they wouldnt let them in without the app, which is pretty much their job so why would they risk getting fired over your inability to setup a bloody app on your phone?

This shop is so cool! I’ve never seen one before - I went during a slow period and the woman at the door helped me download the app and explained how it works. I couldn’t believe it. So nice to not have to queue and scan everything. I hope they catch on and we get some up north!

Very convenient location and good sized store for a Tesco Express in the city centre

Reviews are not reflective of the store, and the anger over having to download an app is shocking. This is perfect for quick checkout, no queues, and for those who would rather avoid social interaction. This system has been used in many other countries in Asia and around the world, and is rather common (hello amazon fresh). Its hurting no one, makes life easier for some, and those who don't want to get on with this or don't have the means to have other options too.

Nobody is forcing anyone to download an app, as everyone has the choice to step into the M&S opposite. Also nothing to do with working class or business people as mentioned in another review, suggesting that working class folk can't download an app and have no smartphone? Ridiculous. There are alternative shops everywhere! You don't have to go here :)

Bloody Amazing!!! This is the future and this is the first time that I enjoy going to a supermarket. It only takes 2 mins to download the app and after that it’s such a smooth and quick process to buy your groceries. The little bakery is amazing too. However, I never see tomatoes for my salad! I just hope more stores like this open through London.

Ignore the negative reviews, checkout free technology is absolutely the future; it is so much quicker and more convenient, and from the shop's perspective it should in theory eliminate shoplifting.

So you need an app to enter.... So what it takes 2-3 minutes to set up and then it all works.

Please don't pay attention to the luddites Tesco!

This is the future. I love how hassle free the way it is. The old gentleman at the front is such a gem. I wish you could let him sit somewhere and help people. Thank you Tesco!

I had to update my Tesco app which took a couple of minutes but the staff were on hand to help and were brilliant. After that a good experience (81 year old).

Tesco, great place to shop, always my first choice.
