I had a really quick and efficient blood sample with nurse Van der Merwe today - chatted to me throughout to distract me and it was nearly painless, very pleasant to speak to and efficient. Reception were also very quick and helpful when the automatic check in system was malfunctioning and I saw them treat all patients with patience and kindness. Thank you to all the staff for working so hard.

I've had a poor service from whiteley surgery but now using this surgery. .
I've been twice in two weeks and been seen within that day of contact. . The staff have been great and and been looked after by the nurses who have been very supportive. .
Well done. . . Whiteley surgery should take a leaf out of your book . . .

I am very impressed by the care I received from this practice. I am an overseas visitor and the team bent over backwards to help my young son. He fell ill and after calling 111 we were adviced to see a Gp within 6 hours. No other practice would see us in that time. Thank you for looking after us so well!

Having seen the recent reviews I was wary about calling yesterday morning, but seeing as I have a poorly baby it was unavoidable.
When I phoned at 8am I was immediately placed in a queue of 18, and the auto message was saying that they were only accepting urgent appointments. I waited and the queue went down quickly.
When I explained why I was calling to the receptionist she was extrememly understanding and patient, and said I would recieve a call back from an appropriate staff member.
Within an hour I was called back by a doctor, who again was patient, understanding and friendly, and put my mind at rest.

My partner arrived at the surgery with a bad cut to his finger on Thursday, we would like to thank reception, the nurses and Doctor for their prompt action. It was the NHS at its best.

I find the surgery very helpful and efficient and we are using the surgery a lot, unfortunately!. I like the systems in place for triaging and I know I'd phone 111 if I had a problem, as advised by the surgery. Sorry you get so much flack.

I have always had positive experiences with this surgery. The GPs are friendly, give good advice and are very helpful. I use the eConsult service mostly as it's convenient and I don't necessarily need an appointment.

I've been with this practice for the majority of my life, and they have always been great! Notably the Women's Health event 17th Nov 2022. This event was fantastic: the staff/nurses were lovely; the atmosphere/event in general was really relaxed; it made going for a smear test a calm experience - which was perfect for me as I was quite nervous; the event being in the evening made it accessible for me to pop along after work; being able to just drop in and have a smear test whenever during the event really took the pressure off the whole thing; I don't think I would have gone for a smear test if not for the Women's Health event. I can't thank the practice enough for putting on this event - it will have helped so many people. And I now know that going for a smear test is fine, and I won't be scared in the future! Also the tea, cake and goodie bags were a great way to encourage people along - really nice that the goodie bags contained some info on women's health. Furthermore, the practice also ran a raffle for the event, which I won! The prize was a lovely basket of fresh fruit and veg (and more!) - just wonderful!

I spoke to a lovely receptionist today called Heather.
She helped me out with a rather complicated issue. She was very understanding, patient and genuinely caring.
Especially seeing at it was very late in their working day.
Thank you so much for all your help today and going out of your way.
Such a lovely group of staff and doctor's at this practice, trying to do the best they can during difficult times.

I have been undergoing cancer treatment. They have been excellent. Last year I had pneumonia very close to sepsis and they got me into hospital the same day I saw them.

Wonderful service. Kind and caring GP’s and wider nursing team and practice staff. Very helpful in supporting me with a long term chronic condition. The e consult service has been very helpful during the pandemic in particular. Friendly staff with a caring and professional attitude so happy with the practice and their service thank you.

Like most GP practices, they are struggling, and sometimes understaffed. But they seem to be trying their best, and everyone I have dealt with has been pleasant and very helpful.

Yes this doctors surgery is very busy and it is hard sometimes to book ahead for an appointment.
But if you are ill and need a Dr appointment I have always had the best treatment maybe not at highlands but they do see you at the Fareham Community hospital.

The surgery as a whole has gone way downhill since it was taken over, staff are so short, you don't feel like you are listened too only having such small appointment slots, however I recently had my first smear test at highlands and the nurse ( I cannot remember her name annoyingly ) was absolutely amazing she was so kind and caring as I was so nervous, she helped calm me down and went through everything in detail and I want her to get a shout out with the recognition she deserves !

It has taken me nearly two years to get round to writing and I am prompted to write a review now after a chance viewing of the web site.

Thank you Dr. Hobbis for the kind and gentle way you always treated my mum especially in her final weeks. Thank you to Dr. Rattray for coming out on my mother's final day, always a difficult time for relatives but handled kindly thank you. To Dr. Griffiths I thank you for the gentle way you treated me on the Monday of my mother's last week on this earth. The nurses who came in that week and the night duty doctor who called around midnight I thank you all for being there.

And now as time goes by and my husband and I have needed your help with various matters this past two years it is your expertise that has ensured that we continue to enjoy life. Managed properly I have never found a problem getting an appointment although getting to know the system took me a while (warm smile at myself)! You are a busy and probably overworked practice who deserve our thanks and compliments.

The receptionist I just spoke with couldn’t have been more understanding or helpful and went the ‘extra mile’ for me. I’m hugely grateful to her.

I called today to collect some documentation. But sadly had left it too late due to illness. The lovely receptionist got admin to reprint for me and gave it to me within minutes. She was lovely

I am not sure how there can be such varied reviews of the practice :( I have an unreasonable number of medical problems needing regular support both here and at St. Mary's. Doctors here are first rate, I have telephone consultations (which I prefer) in a timely manner and get urgent support both at the surgery and hospital when needed. I offer my sincere regrets to everyone posting on here with negative feelings ;( I hope they find better resources if they can.
For me, I would not leave Highlands practice for a large amount of money! (Possibly for a million or two though :) )
Note: For me, possibly the best phlebotomist in the area!
