This place was amazing. From the moment we entered you could tell that they really cared about the dining experience. Each of us ordered separate items and all were delicious. They have the most amazing bruschetta - you will want to order it! The drinks were delicious and I have never seen cleaner stem wear. All this points to the restaurant's focus on detail. Go here! You will not be disappointed!!!!

Amazing. This is THE BEST place for fine dining in Canmore. Service was impeccable - fast, friendly but not overbearing. Everything we ordered for the menu was to die for! We come here every time we're out in Canmore and never regret it.

We made the trip to Canmore for a delicious meal at Trough to celebrate my partners Birthday. We had impeccable service, and the menu although simple offered great diversity and lots of options for their farm to table concept. We had the appetizers: pork belly three ways, and bruschetta. Both were perfectly prepared, platted beautifully and unique flavour profiles. Dinner we had the steak, and the red snapper fish. Again, exquisite presentations and the flavours more than delivered. The dessert was some of the best cheesecake I've ever had... and I've eaten my fair share of the dish haha. The only downside I would say is the glass pour selections for wine was a little limited. Which was challenging since we ordered two dishes that required one red and one white. But it was exceptional none the less! Can't wait to go back, new celebration spot for sure.

This Gem of a resturant is serving high-end Canadian fusion, all the dishes are packed with complex flavours that compliment one another. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting with exeptional waiters. I would reccomend this resturant to anyone passing through Canmore.

We had the best meal here for our last night in Canmore. The beef was outstanding, loved the yellow beets and Bleu cheese crust. My husband had the fish and it was melt in your mouth amazing! The bite size bruschetta with goat cheese and bacon lardons was also a MUST for a starter/appetizer. Our waitress was so welcoming and attentive also. This is a gem of a restaurant. We will definitely be back our next visit to Canmore.

Wow, Can't say enough about this restaurant!! Simply amazing. Went with eight people and everyone was floored by every aspect of the restaurant. Kinda thinking of moving to Canmore so I can eat here often

My mom and I ate here last night and felt the food was exquisite. The salad was my absolute favourite, so many wonderful flavours. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. Over all I have to say this was the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant. Highly recommended if your looking for a flavourful treat.

I am so impressed. We had a reservation for our wedding anniversary in late November which we were compelled to cancel as we are both in high-risk groups wrt the pandemic and numbers were beginning to edge up in the area. The owner was most tactful and diplomatic. We ordered our desired menu for take-out, a first time experience with a take-away from a 5 star venue. Once again the service was exemplary, and the food was exceptional. We have absolutely nothing to observe upon other than it was perfect!

The food was absolutely fantastic, and the staff was wonderful as well. Lots of nice wines to choose from to pair with the meal.

Their take on bruschetta was unique and delicious.

The portion sizes had us feeling perfectly satisfied, not hungry or overfilled.

Always the best food, best experience and service. Been here multiple times now and will keep coming back. There is never a bad experience. Menu always changes which is great because i get to try things out of my usual comfort zone and i never regret it. Plus my boyfriend comes back for those ribs that he literally never stops talking about! Thank goodness they keep those on the menu.
One thing I know he would love to see back however is the chocolate torte with raspberry sauce. *hint hint*

Anyways wish there was more than a 5 star! If you havent tried this place you are missing out. Perfect for literally all occasions.

Absolutely one of the best meals we've ever enjoyed, complimented by impeccable service. Three of us each enjoyed a starter - bruschetta, roasted beet salad, and mushroom soup with truffle foam - and each of us were completely impressed by the presentation of our dish and thoughtfulness devoted to its preparation. For our mains, we chose the tenderloin, ribs, and chicken. Again, the flavour profiles of the dishes and the freshness of the ingredients were incredible. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

This must be the place! When I dream about a dining experience this is it. Set in the beautiful Rocky Mountains this restaurant hits it out of the park time and time again. I’ve eaten through their menu many times over and haven’t a single complaint, in fact, I have a few recommendations; try the bruschetta, you can never go wrong with the fish and always trust the wine pairings. Each time we go we’re remembered and welcomed back, that’s truly what it’s all about. Sitting on the patio under the heaters with a blanket and a bottle of red, this must be the place!

Every time I've been to this restaurant it's been an epic meal that slots into a list of greatest ever. The ambience is quaint and cozy. Feels really modern rustic. The service has always been impeccable. The sommelier Rocco and his wife one of
the chefs are amazing. The wine pick was perfect... We love to try new wines and don't have a lot of technical detail about what specifically we want but Rocco's pick was amazing. The food was just magnificent. We tried 4 entree's the duck the tenderloin the ribs (my favorite) and the risotto. I find duck to be hit or miss if not done correctly but this evening it was done perfectly and was glad my mother in-law could try duck done properly. The ingredients were fresh and you could taste them in every meal. I'm no expert but this may be my favorite restaurant in all of Alberta!

An excellent choice for a nice night out. A bit on the expensive side but a very quality menu. We had a lovely brochettes with a wonderfully tender medium rare steak. Their wine selection is also quite nice. I would definitely suggest reservations...they have limited seating. Definitely in a class of their own in Canmore!

A short but interesting menu with enough variation to keep most people satisfied. Staff were excellent - not over attentive but always available when needed. I had to bail on mains and they were gracious and efficient when I asked for them “to go” despite this clearly not being the best way to enjoy the food. My only recommendation would be to offer a wider beer selection. Given where Canada is right now on “craft” brewing I think a longer list would be appreciatied.

The staff was remarkable and so friendly and very accommodating for our two young boys. They are the culinary experts afterall; and the loved everything. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Our experience was top shelf from the beginning to the end. The accolades from the other reviews are true! The dining room was fully booked so we sat on the patio which was lovely and warm. My friends and I enjoyed our experience thoroughly. Unique flavours were blended with different colours and textures, the presentation (holy attention to detail) was gorgeous, the portion to price ratio was reasonable, we loved the impeccable yet casual air of the server and, finally, our conversation with the owner, Richard, revealed that he is a gracious Entrepreneur who dedicates countless hours to perfecting his craft.

The truth is in the stars, friends.....4.6/5 to be exact at the time writing. For me, 5 solid stars.

Our favourute place for dinner in Canmore - patio seating is great.

We were greeted by a host who was nice and gracious, and had a great swag about him. The host then took our orders and served us drinks...apparently he's a waiter as well. Then he gave us all the details about their wonderful menu...apparently he's a chef there also. Come to find out this host/waiter/chef is the owner! How awesome? We love how hands on the owner is with his restaurant and the passion he has for providing an exceptional dining experience. The fact that there are no salt and pepper shakers or any condiments at the table says it all. The food that came out of that kitchen is to die for. From the bruschetta and mussels appetizers, to the ribs and steak for dinner, to the sticky toffee dessert...it was all out of this world. You can see, smell, and taste the love in the food. Thanks to Robert(owner) and the rest of the staff for the most amazing dining experience us Floridian tourists have ever had.
