This was a beautiful campground for trailers and RVs. The bathrooms were amazing!!! They were vented so well and didn't smell like death. We booked four different sites for different nights; one in the back, one by the water, and two that backed into a real nice forested area near the highway. I suppose we could complain about the highway noise, but it didn't bother me... all the sites were great in my opinion. Although I was extremely happy just being away from work lol. The waterfront view is amazing; we'll be booking them again in the future.

What a beautiful view of the Bow River! The trees were super tall and the campsites were very nicely maintained. We went camping in our tent and the spaces are quite large.

The camp ranger was very kind and helpful. Accessible often for all needs. Ice and firewood were available on site. Nice bathrooms at the entrance and showers. Outhouses through the rest of the campsites.

7 minute drive from Canmore.

⚠ Caution for parents with young children: Fast moving waterways can be quite dangerous and the water temperatures are very cold, always.

A breathtaking view of turquoise water flow on the river and an incredible view of the mountain captured at the edge of the Bow River campground near Canmore.

We loved it here at Bow River. Our youngest played in the mud riverside for hours. We hung hammocks practically over the river! One afternoon. We paddled our SUP (really floated) from Canmore east and pulled out right at our site ! The campground host even saw us from the riverside trail she was biking and got some picture! Everything was so nice and quiet! The bathrooms got cleaned daily and although all the sites around us were full each nite (and we stayed a week!) it felt as if we were alone. Great introduction to camping in Canada for us four!

Our first time staying at Bow River and won't be our last. If you're lucky, try snag one of the sites that back right on to the Bow.

There was some highway noise, but wasn't terrible. We really enjoyed the close by access to Canmore. If you're planning on camping near Banff, we would recommend here vs Tunnel Mountain as it's quite a bit more private and sure beats camping in a parking lot.

Everything is great except it is close to Highway 1. The noise is pretty noticeable but just sounds like white noise so it is pretty easy to tolerate.

This is a beautiful campground with well treed, long, tidy sites with ample space. Very quiet during our stay though it was during the week and quite rainy. Unfortunately our stay was cut short due to flood warnings as there are campsites literally on the bank of the Bow River. Only downside would be close proximity to the highway; so you do hear highway noise but the positives out weigh that.

Wonderful small campground near Canmore. Both flush toilets and outhouses are on site.
Shower building also available.

There is firewood available for purchase within the campground.

Most sites have power and water, but make sure to check the campground website.

Riverside campsites are hard to get but worth it!

Tall, mature trees provide plenty of shade and cooling. Some privacy is provided by trees and distancing between sites.

Roads are narrow within campsite and turning radius might be an issue for trailers that are longer than 40 feet.

They even have tenting sites!

Camped here recently with my wife, and we loved this place! It’s conveniently located by Canmore and many good hikes in the Bow Valley and Kananaskis. The camp staff are friendly and the washrooms and showers are clean. The only downside is how exposed all the tent sites are to the rest of the campground. Altogether we had a great weekend here and will definitely be coming back in the future!

Love this place. Great service. The new staff is very nice and they maintain the campground impeccable. Many places to visit once you are here. For swimming there are a few places nearby. Also grocery and many local shops in Canmore are just five minutes driving. In general is a very nice campground. The sound of the highway can be annoying during the day gets better at night. Great time visiting this place.

The campground is very well maintained. The campground manager and his wife are great. They ensure the sites are ready for the arrivals and during the evening, they drive around with firewood ensuring that the fun keeps going. As expected due the proximity of the highway there is quite a bit of noise, but if you can get a site close to the river, it is not that bad. Bring your bikes, since you can pedal to Canmore for a nice stroll.

Campground is well managed and maintained.
The sites are very true to size and not "generous" like some, so be sure to check your unit length.
Main road is paved and a great size loop for elementary age bikers to explore without getting lost. Campground is right on the river and easy to access. Water was high when we were there so there were no rocks to throw.
Sani station is included, you just have to pop over to the bow valley campground where there are 5 spots you can choose from.
Biggest negative was the road noise due to proximity, but that is out of their control. It also provided white noise so we never heard a peep from neighbors.

Great campground close to town. The site we had was really private with lots of trees. You can hear a bit of the highway noise throughout the campground but being well treed helped not feel like we were along side the highway. I loved being close to the river.

Great little campsite! Our lot was right on the Bow River, which was absolutely lovely to be able to wade into while it was hot. The highway is right next to the campsite, but I personally liked it as it provided white noise, and kept us from really hearing any other campers.

This is a great little spot to camp if you're wanting a cheaper place to stay while visiting Canmore or Banff. There's a gentleman named Darrell who from the time we arrived, was the epitome of accommodating. Such an incredible and lovely man. His positive, helpful energy is really what made me rate the place a 5. Nothing better than someone who loves their job. You ROCK Darrell!🙂

Really happy with our stay would come back and recomend. It is close to the highway but being closer to the river it wasn't really an issue for us. Super close to Banff and Canmore for lots to do within a bike or drive. Only thing missing was a playground for the kiddos but all other amenities are here, or should be once reopened. Kudos to the staff and hosts for running a clean and well kept campground !

Stayed here this past weekend for a girls trip! The campsite hosts were super friendly and welcoming, they even helped boost our vehicle when one wouldn't start! The campsite is clean, and is located close to Canmore and Banff. Would definitely return here again without hesitation.

Nice campground, well treed and the river is right there. No playground and highway is right beside the camp site. Located close to hiking and canmore as well. Would recommend staying here.

I loved this campground because there is amazing scenery and all the camping spots are very nicely distanced so that it’s not to close and is not to far. The staff that runs the campground are very nice. It’s a perfect area to walk around because there is a small hike way that’s very nice. It’s perfect for a family getaway. I will come to this location for many years to come.

Amazing venue next to a beautiful river. Lots are mostly private with some forest area between. A breath of fresh air and a welcome break from overcrowded gravel lots that are most RV parks. Not for you if you are needing sewer hookup or laundry service. Showers weren't in operation.
