Catalina Park

Beautiful, walked around the old racing circuit, the bush and birdlife was magnificent.

Highly recommend coming here to walk a lap of the "park" and learn about it's controversial past.
Will definitely be back again

What a lovely hidden little place to ride your bike or have a quiet walk in an accessible place. Fantastic to take children for a bike ride or scooter and plenty of space for everyone to go for a bike ride in a long undisturbed and fun long old raceway. The parking is in 1 location : either park at the pool or somewhere on Catalina Avenue or around the corner where the water round is but there are a few steps to get up to level and you have to walk around the pond to get to the raceway. There are a few historic boards to read and smaller interesting tracks between the actual raceway.

Catalina Park is properly Frank Walford Park, it was nick named for the Catalina flying boat that was put on the lake as a tourist attraction. Today the entire park and all the lands to Katoomba Falls are known as The Gully, a declared Aboriginal Place, and is preserved for public enjoyment and administered and cared for by the Gundungurra Aboriginal Heritage Asoociation Inc.

Did no know it was still there unlike many of Sydney race tracks

Awesome motor racing history and a walk around will show how crazy you had to be to race here.

Gorgeous park, reminds me of the last of us with the overgrown trees

Great place for a picnic, good for a walk to appreciate the nature. Lots of birds.
