I purchased some running gear online, I was surprised that a business in the blue mountains had the most competitive prices, even against the big online stores. The items were posted and arrived super quick. Customer service was also great when I sent an enquiry email, I got a fast and helpful response.

Loooots of variety of gear for all types of outdoor activities! Personally my favourite outdoor rec shop in the blue mountains! Where most stores specialise on just climbing or just hiking or just their brands gear. Store does a lot of types of activities and have lots of variety of gear. The employees have a lot of insight into both the gear and also local knowledge of events, places to go and things to be aware of. Would definetly recommend

My wife and I visited on Tuesday to get some water filtration tablets/bottles. We had said we plan to do the Mt. Solitary / Kedumba track on 1l each... how silly we realise that was but the advice to make sure we took more water from the gent in store likely saved us. Due to the later than planned start, we completed the track the following day instead and of course, required all the water + extra using the filter tabs bought in store. We were served by a great person and we wish to thank him but had to leave before we could come and say this in person.

I ordered a Salomon 8l running pack from their website. It arrived promptly but unfortunately the flasks were missing.
I emailed the store (at 2pm on Saturday) and received a call from Charles within 15 minutes apologising about the mysterious disappearance and promised to have them sent out to me ASAP.
After another quick phone call and apology from another staff member on Monday morning, I had received my flasks by Tuesday morning. Honest mistake and amazing response from the team.

Truly exceptional service from Rob and the team. They are experts but are great at advising novices or those returning to hiking after a long time away like me. Shoulda gone to Summit Gear in the first place instead of tramping all over Sydney. A beautiful spring day in the Blue Mountains and shopping success for a winter walk in Japan - that's what I call a great day out. Thanks Rob - I'll be back for my summer gear before heading off to Taiwan next year.

Previous Summit Gear backpack lasted over 20 years with heavy use. Still useable starting to fade. The missus bought a new cockatoo backpack and would now be close to 10 years old and still going well. Plenty of comments where I got this backpack. Buy Australian, buy local and it will last a lifetime. Worth every cent.

Bought an exped mat which unfortunately had a slow leak from the first trip it was taken on. Sent it back for a warranty evaluation. They found a very small hole which they patched in house. While it was drying it was misplaced so they sent a new mat via express post. Great service throughout and particular thanks to Talia who I mainly interacted with.

Love this place, however I love most outdoor equipment shops! Very helpful staff and very eager to lend a hand. I was meet by an knowledgeable employee that was courteous and lets face it, its a nice to feel like you matter in this day an age. Anyways smooth and easy transaction. I would use again.

i was lucky enough to demo one of their packs for camping and it was amazing and high quality! plus the owner and staff are very kind and have knowledge of the area. overall i would recommend this to anyone looking to get into running hiking or camping

Excellent. Will’s knowledge of climbing shoes is superb, and they are chatty like previous reviews have mentioned.

Also, the mannequins in the window are not naked as the photos may indicate.
