If you need to stock up on pantry items or just want a good coffee and cookie watching Venice pass you by, then head to Gjusta Grocer. Fresh food, tinned goods wonderful baked goods with a great selection of wine. Make sure you try the focaccia and a lemon honey ginger shot.

Unique, curated specialty goods and produce at premium (but fair) prices. Cute place to discover new treats or ingredients, or treat yourself or others to unique items. Went in for the first time today on a Saturday around noon, and the workers were all super friendly, helpful, and chill. Agree that there could be more vegan options, and that a lot of stuff do not have prices labeled. For reference, a specialty toothpaste was $10 (same price as David's toothpaste for those who know), and an 11 oz snack of flavored pretzels was $4, so the prices were not crazy marked-up like I had assumed for a place in this niche and location! Will come back when I'm in the area :)

Whether it’s the grocery on Winward or the restaurant on Sunset, anytime you’re in Venice Gjusta is a MUST! Had the baklava croissant and salmon toast. Incredible flavors and so fresh.

Gjusta Grocer, High End Specialty Grocer. Be prepared to pay for perfection. There are items here so exclusive to this establishment you truly cannot purchase them anywhere else. In-house baked bread. Locally farmed and Sourced produce. Super Fine Sausages, Olive Oil one has only dreamnt of prior, cute lil tables line Venice way, adjacent to Bank of America and Cafe Collage, diagonal from Great White... Come for one item, a few accoutrements to your meal , or shop for house and home here . The staff are also a delight and are well educated on their produce, proteins , and prepared items. As a Professional Commercial Chef of 30 years , I Vote Yes to Gjusta

Gjusta Grocer may not be, e.g., an inexpensive “NY bodega” style concept, but it’s a haven for lovers of fresh, delicious, hand-made food and unique, highly-curated goods. The prices are seen by some as high, but for me, I think they are fair: GG and its sister stores and restaurants aim to give each worker—whether managers, bakers, stockists, or baristas—a living wage, and that cost is indeed passed on in part to the consumer. Understand, too, that GG commits much of its unused and unsold items to our neighbors in need, for free, so the premium you pay here does get passed in part to serve the community.

I eat a weird number of carbs, and can say with authority that their breads, particularly the seeded baguette, country loaf, and croissant, are unrivaled. The produce is exquisite: life changing melons, tomatoes, pluots… I have even had a tear-jerker of a potato here, that’s how much time they put into sourcing from the best local farmers. The salt and pepper sausages are a weekday staple for us; the chicken liver pate is the t - t s. What’s more, the people at GG are wonderful, and they take the time to teach you fun facts about chocolate and sauce and herbs; they want to know what you’re cooking tonight, and how they can help take it to the next level. Great neighbors, great store.

A bit confused as to why this place isn't rated higher...

this is an important business to have in Venice.

The staff and management do radical work to help people get fed.

Are their prices expensive? Maybe, but they also have fresh, healthy, whole food to nourish us all. Their teas are a game changer. Their breads, fruits...

& they've gotta have the cheapest, best selection of beer in Vencie, I'd say.

All this this close to the ocean, too?

Please support this business. Angels work here.

Oh the bread! So many wonderful and delicious items here. It can be easy to get carried away. It is pricey. But the coffee and baked goods are fantastic. You can pick up a salad or soup or sandwich for lunch or dinner. Take it home and warm it up. And also grab a lemon and an onion and a quart of milk or even a bag of flour or jar of jam if you need it. Oh and a bottle of wine. They have a very nice and interesting selection.

Small selection of gourmet food, bread and groceries. Bread is amazing but somehow cheaper than their deli in 3rd and Sunset. I loved the pistachio gelato and had my eye on heirloom tomatoes and interesting spreads.

Heaven on earth! The most delicious produce in all of LA. Incredible baked goods, I go every weekend for a croissant, coffee, and an olive loaf for the week. Amazing pre-made salads(try the caesar) soups, dips (try the red cheese pesto, its to die for) and their hot sauces! I have both the smoked chili tabasco and the jalapeño lime tabasco and I put them on everything. Also, everyone on staff is lovely, helpful and super knowledgable. They know all the farmers, bakers, fisherfolk, beekeepers, etc who's products they carry and they can tell you all about them and how they chose that specific product! It's amazing!
