Plato's Closet Des Moines

I haven’t sold clothes at this location before; BUT for a shopping experience: this is probably the best Plato’s I’ve ever been to! The store is HUGE with such a variety. Great women’s jeans and men’s flannel selections. The dressing rooms are open, too! Check ‘em out! I was not disappointed.

Had no idea this one existed, I found out it's better than the other one in the area! The Plato's has a clearance section. I found pants my size marked 90% off I paid not even $5 for 3 pairs of jeans.

Can't wait to go back. Lots of great finds and they have upnton2 and 3X and women's pants up to 24 at this location!

Best thrift store ever! Name brand items for a bargain! They have everything! Accessories and Shoes, men's clothes!

Great customer service, the manager is very helpful and hands on. Really love seeing this place grow under new staff especially.

Sooo many things to choose from! no way you can get through all of it in one day unless you plan on spending the whole day! tHe staff were also very helpful and super nice! I'd drive the extra hour to go to this one over Waterloo/cedar falls any day!

The store manager Paige is awesome, I have not been having very good experiences going to Plato’s, and she just completely turned it around. I got so bored working 9-5 day to day so I quit my job and decided to travel and thrift and with the help of the employees, I get better and better everyday. I am loving this new adventure and I am having so much fun everyday! But Paige put me in my place(in a good way) and her confidence and ability to lead skills are beyond! Thank you Paige for taking the time to talk to me and taking the time to make it right. You don’t see that very often and Plato’s is so lucky to have her.

Excellent place to buy or sell used clothing. They're prices are lower priced then new clothing and they will by your old clothing that's in like new condition. They have friendly service and thr lines usually are not that long. They always have plenty of staff for the registers.

I brought in a pair of shoes and old clothes and they gave me $75. I was thinking I was just donating them but it was definitely a nice surprise.

Woah this place has become huge! In the back of center now, if you can't find go back by Funnybone, it's back there. Great prices on unusual finds, our kind of place for fun shopping. Fast check outs friendly staff!

Super great experience! Compared to the one I had at the ankeny one which was horrible this one was WAYY better. Staff was great, great options, and they actually bought my clothes. Will def come again.

I have always had a great experience with Platos! Most recently, I felt uncomfortable going into the store being pregnant so I asked about the secret shopping. Staff were very understanding and more than happy and willing to take care of me and my specific needs! They haven’t let the crazy times get to their amazing customer service 👌🏼 Very much appreciate the steps they are taking to keep everyone safe!

Love this place. I wish they had one in Urbandale. The clerk's can work on their personalities. Prices are fair. You still have to check out the merchandise for flaws before you buy. They also can work on pricing certain merchandise. But is Definitely s place to check out if you haven't been there. Up to date on Styles. You can definitely buy your wardrobe here in one stop! 😉

We came here for the very first time and had a great experience! Staff is friendly, and I appreciate all of the COVID precautions they are taking. They require masks, encourage social distancing, and are wiping fitting rooms down. Overall, I had a awesome experience!

Love finding good deals on decent clothing still looks new and alot of life for half the price!! Would recommend if your a mom with teens... we found some great deals.

Great. Everyone I talked to was very nice and helpful, the store was very clean, and the selection was great. Prices were pretty reasonable for what I saw getting. There was a bit of line for a fitting room and to check out, but it moved quickly, especially for afternoon on a Saturday.

For anyone looking to buy or sell to this Plato's location, I highly recommend you take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. I am from Iowa but live in the Chattanooga, TN area and whenever I drive home I ALWAYS bring clothes to this Plato's. I have a store locally but the West Des Moines Plato's is miles better than the one in Chatt. As you will see from the store's responses, they can't take everything. It is about the condition of the item and the demand that they have for their particular location. I have taken items in and have been surprised when they haven't taken something but know that either they don't have a high demand for it OR their inventory is such where they didn't currently need that item. I know that everyone looking through clothes goes through an extensive training, regardless of their age. If everyone who was happy with their experience came and left a review they would significantly outweigh the negative ones. Unfortunately we live in a world where everyone is all about complaining...
