This place is no doubt the best place in the greater San Diego area to go for all your model cars, boats, planes, helicopters, drones, etc. Parts, repair, repair parts, new, used, and maintenance. Thanks guys for all your help!!!

This is the best hobby shop in the area! They have model kits of all sizes for planes, tanks, boats, cars, sci-fi and figures along with RC planes, cars, boats, and parts for all. Their selection of paints and equipment is good too. The employees have always been helpful and I am always pleased to give them my business.

RC cars, fixed wing, and quadcopter accessories. So many model kits including Bandai. So many Gundam kits, that they don't fit in their own isles. If you're into Gunpla, they sell Dspiae and Tamiya tools. Several hobby paints for sale as well. Price for gunpla seems to be MSRP, so you will not get ripped off.

Everything you need and the staff was super helpful. Above and beyond

This place is the absolute best. I just got in to the RC car hobby. Dave and Abraham are extremely knowledgeable, They have Insane multitasking abilities. If you have not been here yet I just don't understand what you are waiting for.

My son and I went here on Sunday. We had a beginner plane in mind. I used their site to see that they had 4 of them in stock. We walked in and they were very friendly. There were also many employees available to assist and answer questions. The gentleman that helped us took the plane out of the box to show us it. He told us if we had any problems or questions we could call. He was true to his word. We called today to ask about an issue after we crashed the plane's nose into the ground. Not sure if it was the same person, but he was very knowledgeable and I believe that the issue he described, a servo with broken gears, is in fact the culprit. We will be purchasing a replacement servo from DHW later today. Only about $13.

I highly recommend this place for all of your local hobby needs. You can purchase these at a certain online place, but you will not get the same support that you get here at Discount Hobby Warehouse.

It is THE place for all your hobbies. The owner John, is one of the most dedicated hobbyists I have ever known. Vast knowledge of RC and a Master Scale builder. Just going there to see the magnificent collection of models hanging from the ceiling is worth the trip.
Andrew is there quite often and really knows his scale models.
Along w/ Dave, Shaun on the car side, makes for staff that will get you what you need or find it for you.

I've been around the Country, by far; the BEST HOBBY SHOP! John & Staff are Great. This has been my Hobby Shop since 2000. ☆☆☆☆☆. If you have questions, be patient as the Staff will help one customer at a time. Special orders come relatively fast. I've been an RC'er for 35 years (Cars/Trucks/Heli's/Planes) and modeler for 45+. I've ordered from Idaho because John carries it!!!!!

I'm no expert on hobby places, but I do know that the guy at the counter today was super helpful and friendly. He gave excellent recommendations for kid friendly paint and helped make sure we had the right supplies. I don't feel like I got upsold on anything. I would go here again.

Their the best they help me fix my rc stampede Traxxas 2wd, they are willing to listen to your problem and they get the job done.

Great selection of models and a pretty good selection of paints. Staff has always been pretty busy, but they give you there full attention once you get it. Prices are good for a brick and mortar hobby store. Would love to see them carry more hobby tools.

Place is really cool! Employees are helpful and really seem to not only know about the products they sale but they care to see you buy the right item.. I took my son here and we bought a starter rocket kit and took it out for blast off! Spent $50 and had a day of fun blasting off rockets! Place also has tons of model planes plus models you can build and paint.. They also have drones. Thanks guys!

Mike was super helpful. Was very patient with me. I’m new to flying drones but he explained everything to me, helped me when I made stupid mistakes and was friendly the entire time when I kept asking questions. You’re not going to get this at a massive store chain so two thumbs up and would definitely recommend to anyone starting one of these hobbies. Very helpful staff, especially Mike

This has been my hobby shop for as long as I have been in San Diego, and I have never been disappointed. There are several squadrons worth of planes hanging from the ceiling, so you have a good chance of seeing your next model in the flesh before purchasing it. The staff are all genuinely passionate hobbyists who are more than happy to help you set up a new model, or help you with basic tasks like soldering for a very reasonable fee. In short, the best hobby shop in the area, by far.
