The Rainbow

I love coming to The Rainbow. Sam and Mona are the sweetest couple. They have an excellent wine selection. Sam is well versed in wine. If you go before 2p Monday -Saturday you can eat one of the delicious sandwiches Sam makes at the deli counter. My favorite is the Mission. This is my go to corner store.

Best sandwich in SF for <=$10 and consistently ready in less than 5 minutes. Thank you Sam + Mona for so many amazing lunches!

Huge delicious sandwiches (recommend BLT with pickled peppers) always made to order by Sam the sandwich genius (and owner alongside wife Mona). In fact when I search Google maps for ‘sandwich’ nearby this place doesn’t come up but it certainly should. Highly recommend.

Best convenience store in the neighborhood. Mona and Sam are the best. If you don't know them, you should stop and say hi. Their best products include: Hummus (made by Sam) and their butter! Their cheese and butter comes from Petaluma and it's great quality. They often have small bottles of Sake, great beer selection and first and foremost great energy.

Best corner store in the area! It’s always a pleasure to get a fresh toasted sandwich and have a chat with Sam and Mona on my lunch break. They have all the snack essentials and a well-curated beverage selection. Top notch local business.

Proprietors Sam and Mona and their wonderful corner store with delicious sandwiches and a spectacular wine room are a long-standing asset in historic Eureka Valley (1881) and it's outstanding Castro community. Baklava is great.

The owner, Sam, is so friendly and is happy to stock on request. Their homemade hummus is delicious, prices are reasonable -- particularly when compared to Mollie Stones down the street -- and food is fresh. The wine selection is super impressive as well! Pay this little market a visit and you'll leave smiling thanks to the service, selection, and beautiful fresh flower bouquets that frame the door!

Best Sandwiches in the Castro, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Sandwiches are only available during lunchtime, I believe.

Sam, the owner, is such a nice guy! It’s always refreshing when I get off work and and get to have a quick chat every day with him! Excellent family market! I’m so glad I live close to this location now. Highly recommend, support small businesses!

Sam and his family are warm and hospitable. They have an amazing variety of wines and spirits. And their sandwiches and homemade hummus and grape leaves are top notch.

The owners were very nice and gladly answered our questions. Delicious deli sandwich and great selection of drinks, chips, and candy. Definitely suggest shopping here and getting one of their sandwiches.
