Amherst Coffee + Bar

I am picky when it comes to my coffee. I ordered a maple latte and it was by far, one of the best I have had in my life. The temperature was absolutely perfect, which isn't easy to do. I had the smoothest drink that was slightly sweet but did not over power the nutty espresso. If I didn't like across the country, I would be back everyday. Awesome coffee here, don't miss out!

Amherst Coffee is by far the best bar in Amherst. The cocktails are creative and well-thought out, the vibe is immaculate (incandescent/candlelit with lots of wood), and the service is personable and open.

They could stand on their own in Boston, but in Amherst they stand out and are still 10-20% cheaper than they would be two hours East.

Also, the coffee is excellent.

Visited while travelling. Moleskines and neutral-colored wool sweaters seemed to be requisite for the clientele, but luckily I had both. One of the best oat milk chai lattes I've ever had. Great moody academia atmosphere.

Always stop here whenever I’m in western mass. Great coffee and a really nice atmosphere for getting some work done. They used to have really good food but don’t seem to have a working kitchen anymore (hope that changes because the food was great).

Oh my dogs, Izzy, Katie, and Gabe are the best bartenders ever!!! Specifically izzy with his coffee house look, killer mustache, and great recommendations! The way he shakes a cocktail makes me worry he is going to throw out his back, but my is it a a great cocktail! Check this place out for the sweet bartenders and the super rad night life!

I love this place! The baristas are knowledgeable and the code is first rate. Given a choice between Amherst Coffee and the local chains, I'd go here, no question. A good, quiet, low light atmosphere where you can sit and enjoy your brew in relative quiet. I often find people quietly working on their laptops - that's how quiet it can be.

What a fantastic little gem! Ample seating for studying/just hanging out. This review is based solely on the cocktail experience. Our bartender was very friendly answering any of our menu questions and also generously poured us some sparkling water as we made or libation selections. We went with the spaghetti Western (draft cocktail) and the dad joke, both whiskey based cocktails that were well balanced. The spaghetti Western was a play on a boulevardier but was sweeter and not as bitter. The dad joke was a delicious rye cocktail with angostura and lemon. Our bartender even gave us some recommendations on other fine cocktail bars to check out, something a bit lacking in Western Massachusetts.

Pleasantly surprised by this place as there aren’t too many cocktail bars in western mass (at least not that I’ve found anyway). Today we tried the spaghetti western- a bourbon based draft cocktail and dad joke- another bourbon forward drink. Both delicious. Was hesitant to go with the draft cocktail but it did not disappoint. Bright airy atmosphere with a bar and small side tables to enjoy private conversation or sip coffee while working on your laptop. The coffee smelled delicious too. Will be back!

Great spot for a quick coffee+pastry in the morning, or I love to come by at the end of the workday for one of their excellent cocktails or wide assortment of whisk(e)y. We've always had a wonderful time when Ben is managing behind the bar, shoutout to him. There is always some unique cocktail on draft, and the bar snacks (cheese, pickles, creme brulee) are a good sharing size and super tasty.

This place is great for studying and meeting up. The menu is comprehensive and the baristas explain it very well. Service is fast and friendly. Will be back!

I stopped by in the morning to check the coffee taste and tried to buy ground coffee on the way after work, but it was too bad that the door was closed. I miss the taste of coffee here. I live in near Boston...

This is without a doubt the coziest place in Amherst. The coffee is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the whiskey bar which opens at the end of the day was a great source of camaraderie in my grad school years. Long live, AmCo.

I've only had the opportunity to enjoy the Coffee side of Amherst Coffee + Bar but since moving to the area it has steadily become my go to. Whether I'm popping in to grab a coffee or cold brewed matcha then run, or I have the chance to sit and enjoy an excellent cappuccino I'm always happy on my way out the door. Usually with an oversized chocolate chip cookie I can never seem to pass up. The setting is relaxed, friendly, approachable, and blues plays just loud enough to be enjoyed without feeling like you must speak over it.

Great coffee and study place for small groups. Also great cocktail menu for the evening (bar open after 4 p.m. most days). They have an excellent whiskey selection.

Great cappuccinos. Turns into a moody wine bar at night. The ambience is wonderful and this is a great place to post up and people watch, maybe work for a bit. The baristas have always been kind and helpful over the 6 years I've been going there.

Super nice vibe, staff was friendly, the cold brew matcha that i got was beyond amazing, very nice plants, and lots of tables. Overall a great first experience!
