Richardson's Candy Kitchen

This was a quick stop off the highway and a really nice candy shop. They had a good selection of stuff and my wife and I both really enjoyed the chocolate. The staff were friendly and ready to help us when we were ready. I would recommend stopping if you are in the area.

Lovely little place. Choices on what to buy are huge! For dietary reasons we asked about the ingredients and the staff didn’t hesitate in providing us the information.

They definitely take pride in what they do and it shows. They take their time with each customer and are not pushy in the slightest.

The chocolate is of very good quality and there are so many flavours to choose from. There is something available for everyone here. If you’re in the area do pop in and treat yourselves or a loved one.

I stopped in the Friday before Christmas around 2pm. The parking lot was crowded and as I walked in I saw there were alot of customers shopping the store. Even with that an employee asked if they could help me within about 30 seconds of walking in. I looked around and got some great chocolate for my SO's stocking. Everyone was happy and friendly even though they were so busy. The prices for homemade gourmet chocolates can't be beat. It was a great experience.

Great experience! I would definitely come back here as the chocolates were some of the best I’ve tasted in the western Mass area. They had a plethora of choices and the staff were friendly.

I didn't expect such a big and fancy place for handcrafted chocolates on the road quite far away from village's center. Convenient parking in front, they installed a little tent and signage for people to wait if there are more than 2 groups of 2 people inside for social distancing. Sanitizer at entrance, exit at another door, very polite and nice staff. I waited just a few minutes. They also sell all sort or candies in bags, some prepackaged chocolate gift boxes and many many choices of individual chocolates including a sugar free section. Didn't saw the ice cream despite the sign, maybe not operational for now.

The minute you walk in you can smell the aroma of fresh chocolates and candies. I can’t get over the variety of chocolates, candies and gifts they have to offer. The Store was was neat and clean and the Staff was very friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to go back! This place is a chocolate lovers paradise!

The place to be for any chocolate lover. As soon as you walk in the chocolate and fudge aromas hits you and can mall your mouth water. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. So many different delicious chocolate treats to choose from.

First time in this place. I don't live nearby, but I'll definitely stop in when I'm back around that way.
I opened the door, and all I could smell was chocolate (good thing). I live with two diabetics, and they loved the sugar-free candy.

They do make their own chocolate! And they had taffy, its difficult to find good taffy. Attractive, well laid out and very helpful staff. Also, this treat, won't break your bank.

Hidden gem in the area! Stopped by on the way to somewhere else and it was a pleasant surprise! The sour candies were amazing as well as all the truffles.

From the second you enter the building you are enveloped by the aroma of Chocolate in the cool air! So many choices of confectionary delites! Old fashioned Rock Candy, Gummies, and every chocolate candy you can imagine is here. Worth the drive!

Impossible to walk in and not buy something. Smells great, staff is friendly and prices are reasonable. My favorite item is probably the Amaretto truffles.

I have a lot of love for Richardson's. It's a quaint little spot along Route 5 and 10. While there's no designated parking lot you can park along either side of their large horseshoe driveway. Like most chocolate shops, you're welcomed by a decadent, rich chocolate smell once you step inside. Most of the chocolate here is handmade. On the right side of the entrance you can take a peek into the chocolate making process, which is fun to watch. The staff is really friendly, attentive, and provide great recommendations. They have an excellent variety of truffles and other chocolates available in your choice of milk, dark, and white. There's also a great selection of other specialty candy and chocolates (i.e. nonpareils, gummies, cinnamon candies, etc) but those are a bit pricey considering those items are not store made. You can sample anything, including their truffles, which is awesome. Holidays are celebrated with themed treats as well as particularly unique ones throughout the year. On this particular visit we came because they had pumpkin, maple, and cranberry malted milk balls. Let me tell you, those are DELICIOUS. So much so that I bought a pound of them I have no intentions of sharing.

Great selection of candy's. I was traveling and saw a sign so went and checked it out. I ended up buying a bunch of different treats. The dragon wing begonias in the front garden were spectacular too!!

This is the best place in pioneer valley. Staff is superior, not just good. There is a feeling that staff is under constant surveillance re: service. Bit odd. The women who serve you are fabulous, bar non. Shopping here for years and always came out smiling. Asking questions from kitchen workers also is a very positive experience. Questions answered honestly and friendly. This store really is a gift to the valley. We are very lucky to have it here.

Absolutely the best chocolate! In the summer they have amazing frozen, chocolate covered bananas! When in season They also have chocolate covered strawberries and apples! We always have to get some chocolate for every holiday! Wonderful staff, one of my favorite places to go!

The place was very busy being the day before Valentines. They had extra staff working so I only had to wait a minute or two before I was helped. The women who waited on me was very pleasant and efficient. Multiple other employees asked me if I was being helped while my chocolates were being boxed up. They even had a very pleasant Officer from the Deerfield PD working a detail to help customers get in and out of the parking lot. Overall a great experience not to mention their chocolates are the best around.

Amazing Candy Store! You MUST go. The smell of chocolate in the store is worth the trip!

We enjoyed our visit. I got myself a special treat of sugar-free candy bar and mom got a strawberry ice cream.

Spotted Richardsons as a place to visit while in S Deerfield. Had an adventurous day with kiddos and stopped on the way home for chocolates an a treat. They sell Herrells icecream and I’ve never made it to Northampton to try. As an avid icecream eater (😂) it was literally one of the best ice creams I’ve had. Got lots of goodies to bring home and will definitely be back!! Great service, chocolates were phenomenal and gone very quickly in our home!!
