Just bought a signed copy of Drinking From Graveyard Wells! Very lucky to snag the last copy. The vendor was very nice. They are very serious about excellent shipping services. They shipped it in hard cardboard envelope instead of a soft envelope with padding which prevents damage, which my local bookstore does not do. Also, I bought seven textbooks for a good grand total. I also like their used section. They were also kind to put my book in a paper shopping bag. Love it here! Shop here and local instead of Barnes and Noble. BN does not match the same professional standards as this bookstore.

An extremely warm welcome from the friendly and well-informed staff. Helped me out with two special orders during a brief visit to Amherst. Amherst books is a fine part of a lively downtown.

I've ordered several not-usually-stocked books from Amherst Books, always getting the books in a timely fashion. Great used book collection downstairs, great selection of new titles upstairs, not to mention book stuff. Love this store!

Even when there were more bookstores than bars in town, Amherst Books stood out and has always been my hands-down favorite. (And check out the course books downstairs, arranged by course /faculty.) Great books, service, including ordering books, atmosphere, and hours.

This book store rocked! Not only did they have a huge selection of new books, but their used book section was huge and so varied. I found some really obscure and cool stuff there.

I love Amherst Books! Every time I go in I'm greeted and I end up having a fun conversation with Michael about books or writing. People there help me to find books - they actually use their bodies to show me where books are. I appreciate this because book stores can be overwhelming when you're looking for something. I really enjoy the selection and again the staff is always approachable and engaging. Thanks for doing such a great job!!!

Great book shop with an amazing selection of new and used books at affordable prices. Their kids selection is nice too. There are spots to sit in store to relax and sit back and read a little bit before making a purchase. Their used selection is also incredible and with unbeatable prices. It's always worth it to pop in and check to see what they have. This is a book lovers dream.

I ordered books for gifts for someone who lives in Amherst. Since I don't live there, I was very concerned about how to get the books to the person. Fortunately, the bookstore accommodated me. This was enormously helpful. I'm very grateful for their commitment to service.

Amherst Books is one of the best places to be in town. With comfy chairs and couches to sit and check out books in, and a speedy ability to order just about anything you need in, there's rare reason to go anywhere else for a good read. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the space is welcoming.

I adore this place! Many offerings not commonly available at commercial places that'll drag you out of your comfort zone.

Really, really cute bookstore with lots of selections, including a huge used book basement. They have all the old stuff and all the new stuff. Friendly, helpful, staff and the books are sorted in a logical and easy to follow way.

The staff are incredibly helpful and I absolutely adore this book store. I definitely plan on making the drive back when i need more books.

Amherst books has been supplying my books for school for my entire tenure as a student in the area. Couldn't ask for a better bookstore. Thankful that they take payment thru Hampshire's OneCard system as well. Saves a lot of headaches.

Love this bookstore! Can find mostly what you're looking for and so many author's books you'd like to read. Very helpful and enthusiastic staff.

Very nice environment with a good selection of books, magazines, and cards. I like their displays and often come here to pass the time. I wish they had a seating/cafe area.
