Happened to be driving by and noticed the lamp posts in the bridge, so I pulled over into the lot and got out to take some pictures. Upon doing so I was caught up in the breath taking scenery around the area, on both sides.
One side has a nice walking path and a view of the river. The other side has a beautiful view of the lake and hills, but no walking area.
If you're out and about in the area, with the foliage and everything else right now, absolutely worth a stop

Beautiful historical bridge spanning across scenic Connecticut River. Saw it from the water on a boat tour and then afterward got to see the spectacular view from it.

Love this bridge!! It is very picturesque and beautiful to visit. There is construction going on currently as of July 2023.

Beautiful bridge! It’s definitely worth a stop although they’re still doing construction on the pedestrian portion of the bridge so it cannot be accessed. I was able to take pictures of it at Cabot Camp.

I've driven over this bridge more times than I know, I've always liked the architecture of it and loved the views. It's definitely a gem for the area. If you're in the area such as Greenfield or Turner's falls then take the drive to check it out.

Wicked high bridge with wicked good views on both sides. The parking area on the west side is the main lot and has enough space for much more people than it needs. There aren't any lights towards the center of the bridge leading to night walks being a little creepy but worth it on moon lit nights.

The height and darkness of the bridge has led it to be called "Suicide bridge" by more than a few locals due to the rampant suicides that occur at the location. That said, police, both local and state, patrol the area frequently to keep people safely.

Fall near Columbus day could never be so perfect. Sunrise and Sunset are the best times to go to catch the best and brightest colors on blue sky days. Long shadows that time of day provide good perspectives for you photos. "Don't miss what so many miss." There is a bike/hike trial that goes under the bridge that provides even more spectacular views of the high bridge, then a wonderful riverside view where the river branches and it has its very own 2 ND foot bridge you can walk over. Don't miss it. Follow Google Maps to get to foot/bike trail by car. You will feel you discovered a secret hideaway. I'll add pictures to prove its there. If I help you decide, please give me a thumbs up. Makes it more fun while I try to help others.

I have been over this bridge so many times and never took the time to stop and walk to the middle till this drive. I only made a quick stop. Enjoyed the view.

Was traveling 🚗 through on my way to Greenfield, MA when I drove passed this beautiful bridge 🌉. So on my way back I decided to stop and get out of my car to capture some pics 📷 to show my daughter's. I pulled off the side of the road 🛣 heading southeast and walked about 40 feet 📏 from the pull off onto the bridge 🌉. I started taking pictures 📸 of the scenery 🍂🍁and of course the eagle 🦅 that sits atop the bridge. I had not been to this area since I was just a young girl🙇🏼. Next thing I know I'm approached by 2 State Officers👮‍♂👮‍♀. They pointed out that I was on the wrong side of the road and I should have been across the street where there is a sidewalk😵. So they checked on me to make sure I was OK👍. I told them I didn't think🤔 I was doing anything wrong🚫 and explained what I was doing 🚗, where I was coming from and where I was headed 🏡. They told me I wasn't doing anything wrong but that I should have been on the opposite side on the sidewalk for my own safety. We all walked back to the pull off where both our vehicles were parked. I went my way and they went their's. I did get a few pictures 📸 which I was happy with. But I could have pulled across the street where I should have been in the first place lol.
So FYI if you decide to stop 🛑 to check out the view of The French King Bridge 🌉 make sure you are on the northwest ↖ side where there's a vehicle pull off, an information board 📋 and most of all the sidewalk to keep you and the traffic separated!! Although I came through this area in the fall, I got to see the beauty of the color changing leaves which was awesome 🍂🍁🏞 I cannot wait to come through during the spring 🌱 summer ☀ and winter ❄ seasons too and check out the beauty each one of those seasons has in this location 😉 📸
Get your face out of your phone's and get back to looking 😲 around to see the beauty all around you and appreciate it!!! ♥

What a view! Travelling to the Berkshires is always a good option. The views of the river are serene! Next time I’ll try to get a proper side view of the bridge that shows the arch underneath.

The French King Bridge is one of the first stops along the Mohawk Trail. It's a Cantilever Arch Bridge that crosses the Connecticut River Connecting the towns of Erving & Gill. There's a great view from bridge looking upriver, and if you go to Cabot's Camp on East Mineral Road in Millers Falls you can get a nice view of the bridge from below on the shore where the Millers River meets the Connecticut River.

Nice bridge with specular view of the Connecticut River. If one has to really see how the bridge is they should travel to Cabot's camp. The view of the bridge is amazing.

A beautiful area to stop and take pictures. There is a small parking lot on both sides of the bridge both east and west. However, as of August 2023 they are making repairs on the bridge and it makes it very difficult to pull over so you may have to postpone your visit to the French King Bridge
