This historic Victorian house is owned by a couple who have made it a Bed and breakfast for 30 years. There are many antquest in the home which make it an interesting place to stay. The owner provides many choices for breakfast, which is made by the owner and is very good. The bed I slept in was very comfortable

Wonderful Victorian B&B. Not the most polished professionals, but if we wanted that we would have booked a hotel. They were lovely and warm, the room was amazing, and they took really good care of us. We had a very early morning and they actually got up with us at 4:30 to make sure we had everything we needed.
We ended up in the Allen House, and were thrilled to encounter their gorgeous Inn cats.

Stayed hered for an evening on a girls' trip with my best friend. I had reserved a room with a queen and a twin. When I arrived, the innkeeper, Anne, told me she had 2 rooms, the original reserved room and an adorable suite with 2 twin beds up a windy staircase in an attic area with a few sitting areas. I chose the suite because it was SO adorable and perfect for my friend and I. How wonderful to be presented an option!
There was a fan in my room which was fabulous because I sleep with a fan normally for white noise. The bed was perfect and super comfortable.
Breakfast was made to order and delicious. Checkout was easy. Parking close and location was excellent. Quiet yet a block away from everything and across the street from the Emily Dickinson house and museum.

The owners of this inn are so kind. My fiance and I came to Amherst for a relaxing and romantic long weekend and we were not disappointed. The location is perfect. The decor is fabulous, the breakfast is superb. Everything at the Amherst Inn is a clear reflection of the love and care put forth by Ann and Alan. We could not be happier and will certainly be back.

What a wonderful place to stay. After traveling the planet over the last 12 years the owners are two of the most wonderful people I have met. From comfortable beds and bathrooms to having someone there for anything you need. For myself, I needed a new perspective with all that is going on in our world, and that was somehow included by Ann and her husband Alan. I will never forget my stay in this historical home (was once part of the Emily Dickinson family and her childhood home/museum is across the street) and the conversations I had with these two. The place is so convenient for those who love nature or bicycle riding or running. Not only is it connected to a rail trail for bicycling, running or nature walks, but it is also very easy to get to Boston, Connecticut and Rhode Island for bicycling on their rail trails. I loved this place so much, I visited again a week later and then extended that stay by 4 nights. Maybe, its just the people in this area, actually that is exactly what it is. People like Ann and Alan make this a wonderful community. Sorry to ramble but when people change your life its hard not to boast about it.

I have spent two wonderful weekends here. The Inn is a Victorian masterpiece right in the heart of Amherst (across from Emily's house) with beautiful individually crafted rooms and capacious common areas. My room was very amble size with all the accoutrements, including tile bath with shower, make-up mirror, puffy towels, and luxury soaps. The room had lots of windows, exquisite wallpapers, period furniture and prints, embroidered comforters, and pillows sets. The dining room is beautiful and spacious (during COVID I was the only one using the DR). Jan, the Host, is welcoming and has a wealth of knowledge. Each morning she made me anything I wanted for breakfast. Plenty of delicious coffee, vegie omelets, toast, blueberry muffins, to name a few. The surrounding area is full of beautiful nature trails, university offerings, historic Dickinson homes, and famous North Hampton-Belchertown bike trail! Local restaurants are an easy walk. I will be going back to the Amherst Inn for regular visits to the Pioneer Valley! Highly recommend it.

The inn is beautiful! So glad it is open during covid. It's such a old house with delightful half nook stairs. The shower was amazing in my room. The host are cheerful and eager to help.
Emily Dickinson house is right across the street.
