I recently moved out of their Waltham Overlook property due to a job move and felt compelled to leave a review for this company. I'm in IT and job assignments are cut short frequently, so I had to break my lease early. They were able to re-rent the apartment and I had zero fees! Super easy to work with.

My wife and I lived in a unit for two years and everything was good until True North came and took over. We had water damage that never got fixed and ended up having to hire someone to fix the floor. And not to mention we had pests inside and outside the property. It took forever to get a response from the office and when they did follow up, they were rude and incompetent. They also tried to raise our rent before our lease was up. Fortunately, my wife and I found a place before our old lease was up but they tried to make us feel guilty about not renewing our lease. Prior to this, we loved living in our unit. We planned to be there for at least another few years. But this property management caused us nothing but stress. I advise no one to ever rent from them, no matter how good the unit looks. If they take over your units, try to get out of there as soon as possible. Do your own research but take this review as well as the others as a warning and avoid this property management at all costs.

I’ve lived in one of their properties for a little over a year now. We are paying an outrageous amount in rent for truly horrible property management. The fire doors are all off of their hinges and have been for almost two years, the smoke detectors and alarms on the lower floors are taped over (essentially making this place a death trap), the dumpster outside is constantly overflowing, the parking situation is impossible, the hallways and public areas are filthy. The staff is unresponsive and the only time they communicate is when they forget to take your rent payment and then it is your fault. There has been work being done on the plumbing and our water was shut off for nearly ten hours abruptly with no communication. Currently the water is off for a second time with no email, phone call, proper communication other than one or two random pieces of paper with a vague, typed note. Please avoid renting from any of these properties and do not make the same mistakes that myself and other tenants have by giving them your money.

Absolutely the most stereotypical trash apartment/rental managers. I lived in their property in Somerville and have since talked to people in Waltham and it’s the same story. Beyond overpriced, a staff that will do nothing to help you and is beyond clueless or rude and a giant list of problems that were never tended to. Random maintenance without notice such as water shut offs for two days, The walls to my apartment were not properly sealed after ductwork for the washer and dryer causing my apartment to leak through the walls and windows whenever it rained hard and collected mold inside of the walls as well, water damage throughout ceiling and floor, issues with people taking my parking spot constantly that I paid for as well as double booking the parking spot to another tenant, a constantly failing elevator, constant increase of rent, the list goes on. I hope this company implodes on itself and they are perpetually stuck in a rental situation like the one they offer. Garbage money hungry people.

Truly an awful management company. Promised an early move-in on a newly renovated unit. The unit was no ready for us until a month after our lease began. Staff are rude and highly unprofessional. When we brought up our rent was higher than similar units, the company ghosted us. Repairs are slow and unreliable. We’ve been trying to add a parking spot for weeks, and no one has responded to our messages. Melissa used one of our personal emails for a food receipt. Truly cannot emphasize how terrible they are. Rent from someone else.

This company took over the apartments where my mother and I live. They left a phone number for a phone service that either never passed along messages or the property owners didn’t care. They started work on the property in March; it is now end of July and there is nothing but a mess around the property. The work they’re doing in the buildings go all day and there was no notification to let the current tenants know that this work would be done. At one point there was no water from the work that was being done; I couldn’t use the bathroom or make my 3 month old a bottle. However they made sure to post notice of clearing out hallways and also follow up notices threatening to throw away our things; even though they left an email for us to contact if we wanted to use storage. We emailed and then we got the notice that our stuff would be thrown away. It is inhumane and we are currently working to find a new home; which is what I am sure the property owners want. Hopefully whoever moves into any of their properties has a better living experience than some of us are having now.

Rude staff. Inquired about two of their apartment complexes and attempted to schedule a tour. They told me they would not “entertain” the idea of such a far out move in date, even though we’re moving from out of state and would only be in the area for a certain amount of time visiting prior to the move. Other complexes had no issue showing us their apartments and were willing to follow up with us when our move in date became available.
