Hidden gem of Medford ! One of the best date night spots around. Their food is exquisite, one of the best chocolate/dessert martinis I have ever had. The desserts were also phenomenal.

We haven 't been since it was remodeled and its awesome. We ordered Veal...it came on the bone and was a little dry/ overcooked. We also ordered Spaghetti with Octopus which was nice. Cocktails are delish and service was fantastic. I would go back.

The calamari appetizer comes in substantial portions and with a delectable sweet sauce. The chicken and salmon entrees were both memorable with special sauces and ingredients. The creme brulee was of a good size and came with a cookie, berries, and a thick crust. Complimentary bread and hummus were both appreciated, and server offered a free refill. We will be back.

Great food, service and outdoor seating! Every time we walk by this restaurant we always tell ourselves that we NEED to try it out. Well, tonight, we finally did. Our server Gabriella was friendly and efficient. Outdoor seating was really good and allowed for private conversations (there is a commuter rail across the street but it’s not too frequent). The gnocchi was fantastic - love the truffle oil and mushrooms. Oysters were only a dollar each so that’s a great deal. The appetizers were a little underwhelming for our tastes. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back!

I've been to Bistro 5 a couple of times now and really enjoyed it. It has a nice bar scene and little buzz and is a great place for a group of friends or family to meet and linger. The layout is a little crammed but so amiable it doesn't detract. Service can be a little erratic and slow, but lovely people and if you can relax and enjoy then it's great. The weekly burger night is fun and definitely worth a visit. Buck a chuck oysters on Tuesday are also terrific. Great cocktails (among the best in this area), a nice wine list and interesting beer selection (including local Lord Hobo options).

Last night the special truly lived up to the name and should be a review in its own right. Perfectly cooked lamb, with fennel bulb, pickled rhubaeb, chiles and an exceptional lemon-cardamom sauce. I will dream about this dish for years to come. I added a star for this alone.

Every town should be so lucky to have a local joint like Bistro 5.

This is an update to a post for dining at Bistro 5 on 13 July 2022. The tasting menu of chilled corn with crab soup, smoked tomato and burrata risotto, duck breast with roasted eggplant and potatoes and dessert of lime coconut gelato over warm peaches was excellent. Since I was not driving I also indulged in the superb wine pairing. Each dish was executed perfectly. The duck was juicy and a larger portion than anticipated. I look forward to my next dinner at Bistro 5.

Enjoyed the Burns night dinner. The Cullen sink with fried oysters and salmon sausage on top of leeks and potatoes in a smokey chowder is especially memorable. The venison take on haggis was inventive and highlighted by foie gras. The whiskey based cocktails were also very good. The raspberry trifle was delicious. Appreciate the poetry and Scottish music. A gastro pub with Scottish fare would be a welcome addition to Medford.

Delicious !! Truly everything from apps to dessert was awesome! We had the octopus app - yum yum - and had the option of shaved black truffle to our main meals! I want the recipe for the olive oil cake - ten times better than the one I make!❤

This lovely neighborhood bistro style restaurant has a lovely menu and bar.

I think my favorite thing to do here is grab a great drink at the bar and pick out an appetizer or two and call that dinner on a casual Friday night.

Their prefix menu is amazing.

The atmosphere is funky and fun offering upscale secluded dining.

We ordered all of the appetizers on the menu (an olive platter, prepared sardines, savory mascarpone cream, and croquettes)- they were lovely.

Great food and friendly service! Had the 3 course Tasting menu. Octopus with chorizo and lime, Risotto with Fig and Gorgonzola, and Berkshire Pork with Ginger Peach Emulsion and Zucchini.

This restaurant opened many years ago and has kept its standards! When they renovated and added a bigger and absolutely beautiful bar I started going much more. They have Tuesday $1 oyster night and Thursday burger night which are both awesome! Also there is usually a themed tasting menu which they change frequently. From their standard menu I love the Spaghetti alla chitarra. It has fresh seafood and squid ink pasta. I’ve also tried most of the appetizers and never was disappointed. As I normally sit at the bar I should mention the amazing drinks and bartenders. James and Dan are mixologists! I love their Faleena (tequila) and Espresso martini while my boyfriend loves the Five Fashioned (whisky).

Came here to celebrate my birthday with my family. The food and the customer service was amazing!!

Matthew and I were ecstatic to work with Chef Etore and his staff at Bistro 5 to help us host an incredible Rehearsal Dinner the night before our wedding. The space was ideally suited for a cocktail hour with passed apps and then a four-course dinner for 20 people. The best part was that the table set-up was such that all the guests could see each other vs one long banquet table. Wait staff was polished and on point – anticipating needs and empty glasses. The real star was the food though: from apps to pasta, straight through mains and desserts the only sounds competing with laughter was the scraping of plates. They were so easy to work with having lots of menu items to choose from and even slipped in some surprises along the way. Vittorio has been serving up incredible food for years out in West Medford and we are grateful to him and his team for making our event so special.

I have been to Bistro 5 twice and had great experiences. We ordered off the menu the first time and had the tasting menu the second time. The dishes were amazing both times and my guests were very impressed! Service was excellent. We had a great night both times. I would strongly recommend it!

What a treat! From start to finish the meal was divine. The bread with dipping oil, the beet salad, the salmon, and the profiteroles were scrumptious. My companion enjoyed the fish and chips too.

This was a wonderful dining experience. We ordered several dishes and they were all delicious.

Went with my wife for our wedding anniversary dinner and it was great. Hadn't been in almost a decade and the food was fancier than I remembered. I will admit I had to Google some of the names of the dishes but that's due to my ignorance and being a steak and potatoes guy my whole life. We started with the eggplant appetizer which was great and the crispy burrata which was even better. I'd never in a million years think to pair all those ingredients together but it tasted fantastic. My wife went with the gnocchi as her main dish and I went with a half order of the tagliatelle bolognese and the grilled steak. Both were great and the homemade pasta was particularly good. We had creme Brule for dessert and it was out if this world. We will definitely be back but my only wish is they have a few different apps on the menu next time. I don't eat seafood at all and was hoping for an app with meat in it.

The Chef's Tasting provided 3 stunning dishes, each with well though out flavors and a delicious tiramisu to top it off. Some of the best and well cooked calamari I've ever had.

The chef takes pride in his work, and it shows. One of the best food experiences I've had in a while.
