Michelson's Shoes

Such a beautiful store and very welcoming. We walked in with a specific shoe in mind and in 5 minutes we were set! Highly recommend coming here first before going to the big box stores. The store also has purses and a ton of fun socks. I can't wait to go back!

Came here based on recommendations from other parents, they are so incredibly kind and helpful finding the right pair of shoes for my kid both times I’ve been! For the first pair of walkers and then for the next pair of hard sole shoes. We will be back every time we’re ready for a new pair!

This place is great for high quality brand name kids' shoes. The staff is very helpful in measuring/fitting for shoes and offering several alternative options if the size you need is unavailable. The prices are comparable to what you'd pay at Nordstrom and the selection is similar.

Been going here since I was a kid growing up in Lexington and now I bring my toddler son for shoes. They measured his feet and sold us a pair of sneakers he literally wears daily. I went back a few weeks later to get a pair of boots and they had his size, no problem. Unfortunately they didn’t fit so I went to exchange them and they simply sized us up and had the new pair in my hands within minutes. Love the experience and the selection of high quality footwear!

I brought my 16 month old son in for shoes. I could never seem to find the right fit for him. The store was busy when we arrived but they had a lot of people working and we were helped out almost immediately. It turns out my son did need a half size and a different width than standard. We were in and out super fast. I bought two pairs of shoes and will definitely go back when he out grows them. The staff were all super friendly and it's a great store. If you have a little one who needs to be measured and fitted for shoes definitely take them here.

Great experience at Michelsons shoes. We took our 13 month old there for her first pair of walking shoes. The staff was friendly and patient with our baby. Measured her feet quickly, and had us try a pair- then have the baby take some steps. He then suggested a different pair- that would be lighter and more flexible. We wanted to make sure her first shoes fit her well for walking- we didn’t want to take a chance measuring at home and buying online. We got more than what we were looking for and will be going back for her next shoes too!

It was a very quick trip and we got exactly what we needed. The sales rep was efficient, knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating, in addition to being someone my one-year-old felt comfortable with. Michaelson's had shoes we had been searching for in different places on the internet and several different shoe stores and it took maybe 10 minutes, even though they were very busy.

I live and work in Lexington and have a family of 6 - therefore I’m in Michelson’s ALL THE TIME buying whatever the omnipresent to-do list requires. They always have something that fits, that works for the occasion, and they’re friendly and professional to boot (ha, ha). They are always our first stop for shoes, boots, socks, bags, and BALLET GEAR! Thanks gang keep up the great work, our town appreciates you.

Omg this place is amazing, so knowledgeable about shoes and sizing, very perceptive and thoughtful about fit. Terrific with kids—we love going there and the fact that they know so much means they are able to determine what my daughter needs for a fit, which brand etc. works best for a particular foot. Totally saved us from a bad fit for my kiddo’s feet—I am reminded yet again that kids aren’t necessarily good reporters of what fits since they haven’t learned how a shoe should fit. Great for adults too!

Can’t say enough good things about this shoe store. They’re so good with the kids - sizing them properly, etc. it’s a quick and easy experience shopping here every time. Especially for people with wide feet.
We just got our new shoes for back to school yesterday and salesperson Pam helped with finding just the right shoe.
The prices are the same as online or the big stores, why not shop here and get high quality customer service and support a local business!

They know how to fit me - and my feet and size are unusual.

We have a very picky 6 year old who needs his shoes super tight but not too tight. The people at Michelson's were great! They took him to look at shoes, suggested ones they thought fit his tastes and we were out of there in 20 minutes! Not any more expensive than buying online either. We will be going there for all our shoes from now on. We highly recommend this store.

Great family-owned store with great service. is incredible to have a business that is celebrating 100 years in our community. They have a great selection of shoes for every customer from children to elderly and fit each person individually.every time I bring someone here and get them professionally fitted for shoes they talk about how well their shoes fit for weeks and weeks.

Been getting shoes from here for years and can't say I have had any issues. The people are great, and the shoes are quality, although the selection is limited

Michelson’s has been wonderful. We went there as my son was learning to walk, and they fitted him immediately and recommended shoes for new walkers. Many people might not know that babies and toddlers who are new walkers need a specific softness to the shoe. They were very knowledgeable and provided a personalized service that you can’t get online, or at big retail stores. Now that he has outgrown those shoes we did an over the phone consult (because they are currently closed in store, due to Covid-19) and they looked up his previous info, and made great recommendations. When my newest little one is ready to be fitted we will happily go back to Michelson’s. Cannot recommend them enough, for children and adults!

Great store and wonderful staff! I was in over the summer with one of my boys and had the best experience. When my son took off his sandals to try on a pair of shoes, instead of commenting that my daughter must have painted my son's toenails (as we so often hear...), the gentleman who was helping us pointed out that my son's nail polish matched the shoes he was trying on! Little things like this make all the difference. Thank you!

I love this shop! I really appreciated their top-notch customer service. John was very attentive when helping me. He assisted me putting the shoes on when I tried them, and I wish he could help me every day! I have severe neuropathic chronic pain, and he eased my shoes on without causing any pain. I can't even do that for myself! Their selection is excellent; be prepared to pay for the quality. The shop is loaded with great stuff. I would have browsed more but it's a lot in a small space, and there were quite a lot of shoppers and kids when I went. I will definitely come back. I have difficulty finding shoes that are truly comfortable, considering my condition (it's similar to fibromyalgia, for reference). There seemed to be several options I could try, and I'd definitely like to come back when the store isn't so busy so I don't get overwhelmed by the noise (and worried that I'll get bumped, which is very painful). Overall, a great experience!

Great local store. Big selection of kids shoes. Customer service is always attentive and courteous. It's always a pleasure shopping here. Makes me feel good to give my money to a local business. This place makes it easy!

I placed an order this morning and the shoes were delivered this afternoon! My 2 year old daughter out grew all of her shoes since the covid 19 lock downs. I thought we were going to have to wait weeks for new ones. She is so happy to have shoes that fit so she can play outside and go for walks. Thank you so much!
