Gustazo Cuban Kitchen & Bar - Cambridge

Came here after a long hike with a group of friends. The inside was incredibly spacious, with two floors of seating, and on the fancier side, so we definitely were not dressed the part. However, it was pretty empty at the time that we went, and the servers did not judge us.

We shared 6 plates amongst 4 people, which was the right amount (so it takes a bit more than 1 plate per person to be filling). Everything was delicious! There was a generous amount of sauce with each dish, and we soaked it all up with the unlimited complimentary bread. I enjoyed the Mejillones Con Chorizo and Yuca Frita the most. I wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger, but this is typical of higher-end places, and, regardless, the presentation was beautiful.

Amazing food every time. No need to even dip into the entrees - you’ll be happy just with the tapas plates. Incredible flavors, textures, and knowledgeable and helpful wait staff. Been twice and plan to go again and again.

Was craving a braised meaty dish for my birthday dinner and oh boy did they provide. Drinks, food, and service we're all incredible. Carlos, the lead host, and our server were absolutely lovely. It's always nice to be reminded of what great hospitality feels like - kudos to the team. Will absolutely be back.

Food was excellent. I recommend the ceviche and also the empanadas.

The churros were also really great.

We were able to walk in off the street on a Thursday without a reservation and get a table for two with no wait.

The service was good however I gave a four because for our final order we asked for two drinks, empanadas and also two deserts. The server didn't ask if we wanted it in any specific order. The server delivered the desert first, followed by the empanadas about five minutes later and the drinks 5 minutes after that. We would have appreciated getting the desert last but I also realize we should have asked.

Easily the best Cuban restaurant in the Boston area. Amazing dishes with tons of creativity, good drinks, charismatic staff. They are also a pretty large restaurant spanning two floors, so there is a good amount of space. The ambiance is definitely better on the main floor than in the bottom floor, so try to get a table on ground level.

Fun, interesting and delicious menu. The staff, from the hosts to the servers and runners, are super friendly and seem to love their jobs. I didn't really know what Cuban food is, but it seemed to be a general cross section of Latin/Caribbean dishes. All well executed. We had a very enjoyable dinner at Gustazo.

Had takeout here a few times a while ago. I finally dined in and it was awesome! We didn’t order a single thing we didn’t like. We got the chicharonnes and empanadas first and they were delicious. The ropa vieja was so so good, along with the rice and beans paired with it. Same goes for the arroz con pollo. The churros were top notch and fresh, and the flan was great. Really good Cuban food.

Great meal. We tried 20 dishes and loved each one. Waiter made some great recommendations and he was correct with each one!! Don’t know why I keep trying other tapas spots— this Cuban food is consistently fabulous. Our friends had not been to Gustavo before and they cannot wait to return!

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve been to. The food was out of this world; months later and I was still thinking about the ropa vieja. I was blown away by the presentation, the flavors; truly every aspect about this dinner was perfect. I would 1000% recommend for everyone to try the food here!!

We had a great dinner at Gustavo! The food was all excellent. We really loved the ceviche and lamb small plates. We also would highly recommend the steak larger plate. It comes with rice, beans and fried plantains which were all phenomenal. The cocktails were all pretty solid and unique. The service was very attentive and the food came out really fast. I would even say I wish the food had come out slower so we could have a bit of our drink first (it arrived around our 2nd small plate). We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

First time dining here in Cambridge. Excellent food. Quite filling mini Vegetarian tapas plate and the tacos and mahi rice plate we tried. The banana plantain went well with the avocado, cauliflower and beets salad. Very aromatic and rich flavours. Good customer service. I will not get over this until I get back to Canada. I highly recommend this Cuban restaurant. Definitely will come back on my next trip to Boston! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🥰🤩

All the small plates we ordered were awesome! Overall I’d say the sauce and seasoning are the essence of soul! We tried crispy pork belly, lamb, octopus, and shrimp. Again all four small plates were AMAZING!
For larger plate, we ordered steak, something you can expect.
Flan, cocktails and beer are of very good quality.
The decoration, music, and ambience goes pretty well with the food. A place you can enjoy with either a group of friends or couples!

From start to finish the people at Gustazo made this birthday dinner so special. The best food I've had in years with lovely, attentive, and friendly service. Brilliant flavor and texture combinations from small plates to large plates, to dessert and what delicious cocktails! What a wonderful place.

After 4 years of living in Davis Square, I can confidently say this is the best restaurant in the area (in my humble opinion). The service, food, and ambiance are all great, and there’s a good amount of both healthy and vegetarian options for those with dietary restrictions. My friend has a nut allergy and they we able to modify several dishes without issue (while still tasting great). This is definitely my new go-to place within the Cambridge/Somerville area.

Now this became one of my favorite restaurants to visit in Boston. Gustazo was just awesome. Ticked every box for us. Cuban food - check, great service - check, ambience - check, music - check, friendly staff - check. We ordered the empanadas, ropa vieja, ceviche, couple of more items(unable to recollect the names) and tres leches. They carry a bunch of awesome cocktails. We went with guava blossom cocktail, Cuban cigar and daiquiri and liked them all. One particular drink, suggested by the bartender, either that was agave or Cuban rum, i am not sure, but that was just awesome.

Fantastic restaurant! The foods were dilicious and creative. Beautiful interior design as well. Price may be at the higher end but definitely worth it!

Delicious Cuban food with great cocktails and amazing service. Tapas style small plates let you sample the entire menu -- and every dish on the menu is really tasty. They also have large dishes which come in huge portions.

One of those places you really have to go, if you're ever on Mass Ave. Every dish I've tried so far has been full of that authentic Cuban passion and wonderfully flavored.

Go for the yuca fries! You won't regret them

My favorite spot in Cambridge. The ribeye with the pineapple chimichurri is probably the best steak I’ve ever had. I’ve had the chicken before and it’s amazing. The fried plantains are perfect complements to the meat and rice.

Also appreciate that they have plenty of mocktail options. The non-alcoholic mango mojito was incredibly tasty.

The chocolate cigar for dessert was so fun; it tasted so rich and smoky. All of my friends’ desserts were delightful as well.

Ambiance is great, service is great, plenty of seating. It’s on the pricy side but it’s an incredible restaurant, worth every penny!

Every tapas dish is amazing- pork tacos, cauliflower and vegetarian Shepard's pie were the group favorites. Cocktails are delicious. Super chill atmosphere. The churros for dessert are bomb.
