Hotel 1868

I love this place. I live in NYC and work in Boston, so I stay here once a week. The rooms are on the small side, but brand new renovation and always squeaky clean. The fold at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. Decent sized and well equipped gym in the basement is very nice and Cafe Nero is right next door so I can eat breakfast next to the fireplace. If I have to be away from home, this is where I want to be.

Great room! The shower was really nice! Rooms were very clean and the bed was great. The service from desk to housekeeping to valet was excellent and all staff were extremely friendly and helpful! I’d give service 6 stars if I could. Looking forward to my next stay at 1868!

The staff was super accommodating and friendly! Our flight was delayed ~16 hours and we missed the first night in the hotel, and we didn’t even have to ask for them to take it off! Also, you can not beat the location of this hotel! You’re right across the street from the Red Line, so get yourself a Charlie Card and you have access to the whole city right outside your door! My singular complaint is that the walls are very thin, but with how great everything else was, I didn’t mind.

I had a pleasureful stay at Hotel 1868 while visiting Boston. Hotel was situated at a wonderful location where I was able to access subway, bus stop, cafes, target, CVS and some restaurants too. It wasn’t very far away from airport as well as from main downtown. Hotel staff were exceptionally nice, cooperative, attentive and friendly. I would specially like to mention Ms. Vasilisa, who helped me by going an extra mile by accommodating my luggage. I would like to express my gratitude to her for making my stay very comfortable and facilitating me. Their hospitality was great and rooms were very clean, tidy and well equipped. Their gym was well equipped and they provide unlimited coffee and tea. If someone is staying for work they provide very nice working space and meeting area. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I would like to book same hotel in my next visit too.

We are staying here for 4 nights and so far we are loving the experience. The rooms are a little small but it’s just my wife and I and it is a perfect fit. If you have ever been on a cruise and had a regular cabin, think that size. The bed is very comfortable and the sheets are great to. If I come back to Boston, would I stay here again? Yes!

Order ahead for Bagelsaurus - a cult bagel location just down the block. Plenty of things to see and do!

Very nice hotel, expensive but relatively cheap for the area. Overall experience great. Nice casement windows can provide outside air. Heat pump for heating and cooling was wonderful. Loved the unified design theme. Rooms pretty small but workable. For me, the mattress was a bit too soft, was not good for my back. Stand up shower actually better than most hotel showers, although I would caution that the floor gets pretty slick with soap, a rougher tile would be better. Keurig in the room was another nice feature.

Comfortable beds, clean and stylish.

I booked a room here last minute because of a work gig. I really wanted to find somewhere I would sleep well so I'd be refreshed for the morning to get been into my project. I had a smaller but very cute room on the top floor with a lovely view out over the neighborhood behind the hotel.

Most importantly, the bed was soft enough for a side sleeper like me, but not too soft where you get achy. Glad I found this hotel!

Worked for me. European style small but well organized rooms. Nice upgrades. Liked that there wasn't daily housekeeping.

Had a more than pleasant stay at this hotel. Needed a place for a business/leisure trip. Hotel was very reasonable, yet still well appointed. Very informative, courteous, professional, and helpful front desk staff. The exercise/work out room was well equipped with numerous modern cardio and weightlifting machines. Rooms were modern and comfortable, and had everything one would need. Clean too. Neighborhood with multiple dining options, very diverse (enjoyed collection of authentic Japanese noodle options across the street at Lesley U, as well as Bagelsaurus!). And, across the street from the Porter T station. Will definitely stay again.

This is an ideal hotel for work related travel. The rooms have every all necessary items. They are clean. Only a microwave is missing, but that's OK. The location is a stone throw from the metro, hence getting places is really easy. There's a nice cafe that opens early right outside, and some great eateries around. Rooms were cheap compared to what is standard in the area.

If you are staying here, it is a great location! Bang opposite the Porter Square train station. You have great connectivity either via bus or train. You have a CVS Pharmacy on the opposite side along with a whole world of dining options. A breakfast place is just adjacent to the hotel. It is one good place in Cambridge.

Great hotel located in the best location in Cambridge, across the street from the subway. Lots of food options around Harvard, Porter and Davis Squares, all within walking distance.

This is a new, clean, no-frills hotel. No daily room service to make the beds. The rooms are in brand new condition. Great price for location.

I’m so glad I stayed at this hotel. I visited Cambridge for my college reunion. The prices were great compared to other places in surrounding areas. The decor was lovely and staff were attentive and courteous. The room was on the smaller side but enough space not to feel cramped with 2 people for a few nights. It’s right by the porter square T stop and also walkable to many restaurants and other amenities in the area. This will likely be my go-to hotel whenever I visit the area.

Excellent location right by the subway and a short walk to Harvard yard. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel felt safe and the rooms were very clean. Rooms clean on request rather than everyday, which made it feel more private.

Rooms are very aesthetic! Very modern and cozy, perfect for singles/couples. Staffs are friendly.

- next to a major street and subway stop, so it can be noisy

My partner and I stayed here for one night. We booked a standard room, queen sized bed. It's a small room, but we knew that going in and it wasn't a problem for us. Everything was very clean, and the bathroom was super nice (it had a rainfall showerhead and great smelling shower products for us to use). The front desk staff were super friendly! They recognized us later that day and asked us how our day was, where we went to dinner, etc.

Overall, awesome and welcoming experience! Good place to stay if you're only in town for a day or two and don't need all of the frills of your average hotel.

This is a super cute hotel in a great location! We stayed here for 2 nights before dropping our daughter off at summer school. We walked around at night and felt safe. We were able to easily catch ubers and there is a metro station right across the street. The staff was helpful with any questions we had and even arranged a late check out for us on our last morning in town.

Great gym! This is a small boutique hotel, in a convenient Cambridge location. (Coffee shop right next door, and near CVS, small Target, and grocery store/shopping center). The Redline subway across the street will take you right to the Harvard campus. Very clean and comfortable, although the rooms are very small.

The highlight is the large, excellent, and very usable gym! I have traveled extensively, and even large resorts and high-end properties often have gyms that are unusable. This gym is very well-equipped, with machines, cardio equipment. and ample dumbbells. Note: If you use one of the gym TV's, scroll down to the HD version of the channel you want to watch. The entire staff is friendly and accomodating.
