The Charles Hotel

I just completed a six night stay at the Charles (originally scheduled for three, but extended) and it was a wholly pleasant experience. From the greeting as I arrived until I was generously accommodated as I ran a few minutes late on check-out, every staff member greeted me as if I were a valued guest.
The hotel is currently decorated for the holidays, making it that much more festive, but I am here frequently for day trips and the site is always beautifully landscaped and maintained.
I am so looking forward to returning for another visit in the spring.

I've had family stay here when they come to town, so I've seen the lobby and rooms (which are stunning) but I
I've only recently discovered that they have an Avis/Budget car rental office on site. I rented a vehicle through uber and I picked it up at the Charles rental office. The hotel & car rental staff were both amazing. I'll be coming back for future rentals, for sure!

Their site says EV charging is free, but it's not unless you do valet. Otherwise awesome.

A great place to have lunch! Atmosphere was awesome and services was first class!

Best hotel in Cambridge with wonderful ground floor and second levels, courtyard terrace, restaurants, bars, spa and well appointed rooms. My first choice in Cambridge for business meetings and having lunch with colleagues/friends (at Henrietta’s Table). The varied and generous seating on the ground level accommodates small groups for socializing, individual work/reading; and quiet reflection. During the summer months, outdoor food and activities on both the upper courtyard and public space contiguous to the hotel’s ground level.

I recommend staying at the Charles I do think it's a little pricey but you get what you pay for everybody's friendly service was great I would return

A wonderful stay around Christmas. Booked under Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts and surpassed expectations. Staff was great. Room was well appointed. Henrietta's table had a wonderful breakfast. The location of the Charles cannot be beat. We look forward to returning.

Stayed at this hotel for a show in Cambridge and was impressed with the cleanliness, staff, and location! Room was spacious and very comfortable. Valet was a breeze to use. Amenities were definitely lacking considering the price but they did seem to all be only temporarily unavailable.

You helped us achieve all of our daughter’s and new son in law’s wedding of their dreams. From the minute we arrived to the end of an enchanted wedding reception we are all so very grateful. A wedding is not an easy event to plan, however you and your staff made it look easy! Thank you for everything we couldn’t be happier today.

I didn’t stay at the Charles hotels, but still give them 5 stars. The stuff is really nice to help me to find Different hotel to stay, because they were fully booked the night I was trying to stay.

This hotel is very conveniently located close to Harvard Square's shops and restaurants and the T station. Our room was very comfortable and quiet with a nice view over the central courtyard. The hotel's restaurant Henrietta's Table serves a good breakfast. Staff were very helpful and understanding organizing a refrigerator for my room. This is a great place to stay right next to Harvard Square.

Haven’t been to The Charles Hotel since pre-Covid and it seems the hotel took advantage of the down time with much needed renovations. They did an excellent job. We live locally so haven’t stayed.

Th gentleman with the bakery has amazing cappuccino and such lovely pastries. Grazie!!!

The Charles Hotel was the perfect home for our wedding weekend on December 31, 2022. No one could've taken care of us, our family, and our friends better.

From the months prior of expert planning with Jennifer Halpin, to the day of execution, on a holiday no less, with the most pleasant staff... we were blown away. The reservations team, including Ariana Ricci, was responsive and kind while handling our large, ever-changing, room block. The driveway team, including Zafar, Phil, Fauod, German and Dan, were prompt and extremely helpful with our CARTS full of belongings. The front desk team, led by Sumit Tuladhar, was so attentive and efficient. And then the banquet team, led by Jim, ... is just the best of the BEST. Patti, Stephen, Tim, Wilson, Edin, Mostafa, Rob, Said. It took a village, and family, to pull this wedding off.

And a shout out to one of the wedding banquet servers, Pam. She was there at the wedding Saturday night until 12:30am, and then we saw her at 10:00am when we went down the breakfast. And she was smiling and gushing about our wedding. First of all, what a champion, but to do it all with the biggest smile... it truly made our day the next day.

My stay was fantastic. Everything was clean and extremely nice. The TV in my bathroom mirror blew my mind! The gym was very complete - it had more equipment than my regular gym. They let me check in early, which was nice. I absolutely recommend staying here.

Stayed just one night for a corporate meeting. Love the clean executive yet "homey" feel of this hotel. Room looked newly renovated and super clean. Also enjoyed it's large size. Didn't get to eat at any of the restaurants here but the breakfast we were served at our meeting was wonderful and had a great variety of items

Fantastic people at the front, spacious rooms and amazing breakfast in the morning at the little eatery there. Had an Upgrade ready before I even opened my mouth, they had taken care of everything and explained the benefits of using a Platinum Card here. The bar could have been better if they had a different bartender. If you’re in Cambridge, just stay here as I def would.

Probably one of the classiest hotels without going over board I've ever stayed. Everything from the decor to the friendliness of the staff was top notch and didnt seem forced, etc. We left something in our room after checkout and when we called the gentleman said he would go get it himself and have it waiting for us at the front counter. The food was a little spendy but you definitely get what you pay for, parking is 45/night and I guess it's pet friendly. Its located basically on the Harvard campus. Highly recommend, would stay again.

Very nice accommodations. Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom with a nice shower. Immaculately clean. Friendly folks at the desk. Take advantage of the fitness center and indoor pool - both are excellent.
Do note the room "power cards" are quirky. You insert the card to get the lights on, seemingly to encourage/simplify energy savings. I took the card out before I went to sleep and woke in the night to a room that was very cold. I guess turning off the lights manually is the right solution at bedtime.

I had a business breakfast meeting at Henrietta's Table, and the food was amazing!! The portion sizes were more than enough that we were able to share our individual plates of pancakes and French toast between our party. The staff was very friendly and attentive! Excellent visit!
