From the moment I stepped into Mt. Auburn hospital for my total ankle replacement, I was met with an outstanding level of care and professionalism. The entire staff, from custodial team to food service, nurses to doctors, displayed genuine warmth and compassion. Dr. Basile and his team took to time to listen to any of my concerns and answered all of my questions. Their smiles and attentiveness made me feel truly valued as a patient. They made my recovery a comfortable and reassuring experience. I have had a number of hospital stays over the years and this is the first time I was felt I was 100% listened to. I felt I wasn’t ready to leave after two days and asked to stay one more and they didn’t try to convince me out of it. With my other stays, I always felt I was being rushed out to make room. I am SO SO grateful for the exceptional care I received throughout my stay. I almost (just almost) didn’t want to leave.

I’ve always been treated with dignity and respect when at the Mt Auburn hospital. My recent visit to radiology was outstanding. Simone and the rest of the team that was on duty that day were very accommodating and patient with me I even left some jewelry and Simone took the time to hand deliver it to me upstairs. Very kind and personable !!

Wonderful experience with the Labor & Delivery and Postpartum departments. Doctors, nurses, midwives, and lactation consultants were exceptional. Felt like we were in competent and compassionate hands throughout the whole ordeal.

Everyone we met was a complete pro, from the ER, to the nurses and pca after admitted, to the surgery team. They saved my partner's life, and I'll be forever thankful. Please pay these folks well.

Came in an ambulance, they were very fast and efficient. Didn't have to wait too long for C.A.T. scan & X-Rays.

I had both hips replaced at MT Auburn Hospital and I have to say that I received first class treatment both times. I have nothing bad to say about them.

Mt Auburn has a highly trained excellent group of cardiologists and heart surgeons. Also their nerology and pulmonary departs are top notch. Impatient care is very high quality and now teamed withvBI docs

I gave birth at the Bain Birthing Center in May 2020. At the time, it was the start of the Covid pandemic. I had to go to the hospital to give birth alone because my spouse had to mind our older child. The staff took exceptional care of me. Every single interaction was positive. The doctors, nurses, and midwives were caring, professional, and efficient. I will forever be grateful to the wonderful staff at the Bain Birthing Center. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Very efficient. And helpful, nice people. Convenient parking, remember to pay in lobby before getting car.

My wife delivered here and our experience was top notch. The entire staff was just amazing — the doctors, nurses, everyone was truly great. I can’t speak any more highly of the qualified professionals who took care of my wife and baby. Each one of them was friendly, knowledgeable, non-judgmental, helpful, caring, the works.

The hospital is nice and really doesn’t feel intimidating. Frankly, I’ve never been to a hospital that didn’t give off hospital vibes. This one really feels boutique-y. We had one nurse who was devoted to us throughout the night, exclusively, and she was great. The delivery rooms were large, well-appointed and certainly above anything I would’ve ever expected from a hospital, and everything was super clean. We were given our own post-partum room as well, which was smaller, but amazing to have the privacy. There are amenities, and the food is good too! Highly recommend delivering here.

Stayed here overnight after surgery. My first experience at Mt Auburn -- outstanding in every way and such a difference from big Boston hospitals. Busy with patients, but you will feel like you are the only one. Staff and nurses respond in seconds after pressing the call button, food arrives minutes after ordering. Kindness and helpfulness A+. What I really appreciate is the communication behind the scenes. You can tell these colleagues talk to each other and we are people, not just patients. ZERO NAUSEA from anesthesia, and pre-surgery prep was anxiety-free. I liked being able to walk into the operating theatre and watch everyone working to ensure I had a safe and successful surgery. Had never heard of Mt Auburn Hospital before this (my doctor has her offices there). Easy parking in the garages too. A+

Recently my youngest son was admitted to the ICU at Mt Auburn Hospital. I can only speak to that unit and the staff working there as it was the only part of the hospital I dealt with. Being from out of state, we were guided every step of the way by a social worker, the doctors, nurses and the organ transplant coordinators. Although it was a terrible personal loss for our family, everyone we dealt with could not have been nicer or more considerate during a time when we could barely think for ourselves we had so much support keeping us informed and truly felt they each cared for my son and our entire family.

At 3:30 today, August 5, I went to the emergency room at Mt Auburn for an infected wound on my leg inflicted accidentally by my dog.
My experience was excellent.
Checking me in was a polite and helpful young man. Despite many people in the waiting room I was seen by a triage nurse within 15 minutes. Following her intake I returned to the waiting room expecting a long wait for the doctor. But again about 15 minutes later I was taken to a room where a doctor saw me and quickly determined a treatment.
All the staff was polite. The nurses engaging and the doctor thorough.
I write this as there have been many negative posts and I think those who have a positive experience should also share it. It’s a tough environment to operate. Thank you

I recently had surgery with a few complications. I was treated and admitted quickly within a few hours of being transferredfrom a different hospital. The staff that took care of me were absolutely amazing! So caring, helpful, and accommodating. As a member of the LGBT community, I felt very comfortable, safe, and was not treated any different.

We came to Mt. Auburn to deliver our baby.

The highlight of the experience was the staff. With few exceptions, every one of the 20+ doctors, midwives, RNs, and other providers we've worked with was phenomenal — genuinely caring, patient (not once did we feel like a provider was rushing away from the bedside), happy to thoroughly answer all of our questions. From the staff, we learned everything we needed to feel confident going home, from swaddling to diapering to breastfeeding. Unfortunately, our baby needed to do an extra stint at the Level 2 NICU; we felt confident that even when we left the hospital, he was being carefully watched over and cared for. A few providers in the NICU went above and beyond the call of duty; one of them even bought our little guy a shirt!

The delivery and postpartum facilities were also great. They had a big room available for the birth with lots of options for helping with labor (birthing stools, a tub, etc.) For postpartum, we got our own room with an attached bathroom and plenty of light.

Our biggest complaint about the whole experience was the physical setup of the Level 2 NICU. Again, we had a private room with beautiful views, which we definitely appreciated. However, there was only 1 armchair and 1 folding chair allowed in each room, which meant that neither of us could really sleep and recover while visiting, and (as the person in the folding chair) my back was in agony at the end of the day. The closest bathroom is also a 3 or 4 minute walk down a long hallway, which was very uncomfortable for my wife, and we believe delayed her recovery. We recognize that some of this is mandated by the Dept. of Health, but the uncomfortable layout definitely made an already-hard experience a lot harder.

Overall, we would highly recommend Mt. Auburn as a place to deliver.

I have been a patient of Mount Auburn since birth.

My wife and I recently welcomed our son to the world 6 weeks early, requiring a 17-day stay in the Level 2 nursery/NICU. During that incredibly difficult time, we always felt our son was receiving not only the best and most appropriate medical care, but the nurses and doctors were absolutely incredible with their patience, kindness and compassion.

The room our son was in was beautiful with views of the Charles River and the Boston skyline and a comfy recliner (the “mom chair”) and was always well stocked with diapers, wipes, milk pumping and storage equipment and everything else needed.

Additionally while our son was admitted we were both allowed to call for included meals from the room service menu which made things much easier for us not having to worry about food between the many trips to and from the facility (the food was great too!)

I cannot say enough good things about the staff and the care they provided to our son in the NICU and to my wife in Labor and Delivery!

Additionally I have received knee surgery at Mount Auburn and as noted have been a patient at the hospital my whole life and have always been satisfied to extremely pleased with my personal care.

My father in law was hospitalized for a broken hip surgery at mount Auburn. We have been visiting frequently and the staff and service has been great. The nurses are very understanding and the doctor has been responsive during our visits and updated us frequently regarding his recovery status.

This place by far has THE BEST staff of any hospital I have EVER been to! I unfortunately had to "live" here for 2 plus weeks with my newborn who was in the NICU, and the nurses were just simply amazing. I mean, they went to levels beyond any expectations, between caring for my son and keeping me sane! The doctors were incredible and even the kitchen and janitorial staff went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure I was comfortable! I couldn't recommended this place more. I am so thankful for ALL of these people every single day!

Mount Auburn Hospital is a training hospital for HARVARD Medical and hold the highest standards for all staff. They are the most pleasant and compassionate staff I have experienced with high standards thru my cancer treatments. They make my Oncology and Radiation sessions bearable.🤗
