Ten Tables

This is an update to an earlier 5 star review, after my friends and I visited again.
JP has many restaurants where you not only can get good food, but have a good time. For me, at the top of the list for a good time and absolutely fantastic food is Ten Tables. The place is joyful, familiar and friendly.
We had mussels that were the best I ever had. The halibut was succulent and the brisket pasta was such a comfort food. Thank you Krista, Randy, Cristina and the staff for allowing us to have a wonderful evening.

Had a wonderful experience at Ten Tables.

Their cheese board was laid out beautifully. A mild, soft cow cheese with a sharp, hard goat cheese. A few jams, bits of fruit, olives, and honey complimented each of the cheeses.

I opted for the hanger steak as my main course. It was, without a doubt, one of the best pieces of meat I've ever eaten. This steak was so tender, it didn't know which state of matter it wanted to be: a liquid or a solid. Wonderfully salty and juicy, it's triggering some subconscious memory in my mind and making my mouth water.

The wait staff was professional and attentive.

The dining area itself is rather small. It seemed like they did have more than "ten tables", but it probably wasn't much more than that. If you want to eat here, I would *highly* recommend getting a reservation. There were people already lined up at the door as they opened for dinner.

While this is marked as a triple-dollar-sign restaurant, I'd consider it on the cheaper side of that category. An entree will only run you about $25, and you can get a tasting menu for only $50.

Went to Ten Tables for a celebratory early evening dinner and had the BEST time! The food was delicious. The salmon was one of the best meals I've had in Jamaica Plain. Everyone in our party said the same about their meals. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Loved the homey, quaint, quiet atmosphere and being able to watch the kitchen. Will definitely be back, again and again. Thank you!

Charming, cozy, and classy, this place was the perfect place for me to get dinner with a long time friend. She ordered the chicken while I ordered the steak, both of us were MIND BLOWN by the food! Desert was decent. The real highlight was the service (thanks Krista!) they seriously know hospitality and do not play when it comes to fast delivery and well timed check ins. I will be coming back for a date in the future!

We went to see the foliage in Harvard arboretum and decided to get dinner in JP.

First experience and definitely not the last! We enjoyed every bite .

The spaghetti was delicious but I would loved to have the sauce thicker to cover it but taste good

The lion risotto was super.. full of flavor

The stake was cooked perfectly

Deserts were great
Soufflé with basil ice cream
Taste freshness from the basil but not overpowering

Calling all foodies. This neighborhood gem is not to be missed! Nice, cozy atmosphere with a well thought out menu selection and a good staff to make you feel at home.

THE GREATEST STAFF, delicious food, creative cocktails, perfect soothing environment. A “10”. Oops, max amount of stars is five so it gets 5 stars. Loved hanging with Jessica, JoJo, and everyone in the kitchen last night. Best meal I’ve had in a year.🤩‼

This place is crowded so plan for a wait. Food is wonderful, but know that the specialty pasta option is not avaliable at the tables, only the bar area. People seem to complain about that, but I can see a lot of reasons for it so just know that ahead of time and don't be upset. Also, the portion isn't big, but it IS delicious.
Drinks are great, staff is fantastic. This is one of my favorite places.

Excellent Cosmopolitan from the handsome bartender. The Fall Salad with poached pears, homemade grilled focaccia, and the gnocchi with braised short ribs were all wonderful. Key Lime Pie delectable. Very agreeable white Bordeaux. You really can't go wrong with this place. It is diminutive and charming, worth the trip, and the prices are reasonable. Well- deserved Google 5 stars.

Their housemade short rib ragy papardelle was to die for. I need this recipe! And their seared brussel sprouts with with toasted almonds tasted wonderfully exquisite. I would skip the aioli as I don't think it adds much to the taste. We will be back!

From the appetizers to the "boards" to the entrees to the desserts, the food was delicious, perfectly prepared, and presented with great care. The service was superb - excellent recommendations and attention to detail (I LOVED that no plates were removed before everyone was done eating). Our group of 9 had many different items on the menu and EVERYONE raved about each thing they had. And the fact that the restaurant was packed on a Monday night speaks volumes!!

5-stars all around - went on a date, had a romantic yet laid back evening (after a Beethoven quartet candlelight performance nearby). Every dish we ordered was an highlight. But if I must name one: the grilled octopus with pickled veggies. The service was impeccable, the ambiance perfect for a date night. We will come back soon, and often.

Ten Tables you never disappoint! It's a little out of the way from Boston proper but so worth it! I began my love affair with Ten Tables many years ago when they only had this small location sans bar. We had made an almost impossible reservation and when we got there our table wasn't ready and we had to wait a bit. They felt horrible, gave us a free bottle of wine, free appetizers and more than compensated for a problem kind out of their control. Everything they have here is delicious. I loved everything from their fresh salads, soups, to their delicious fish dishes and decadent desserts. I have done the Vegetarian Tasting Menu and A La Carte. I got their burger at the bar recently and was very impressed. Their drinks are fantastic too and I love their wine selection. Knowledgeable staff and always accommodating There is not one bad thing to say about this place. They also offer great deals on Sundays and Wednesdays Three Course for $35 dollars. I can't wait for their burger joint to open.

In August of 2009, I read a review of this restaurant and it sounded delicious. When we finally ate there, the menu choices were overwhelming, but the chef's choice and the wine to accompany it sounded too good to miss. The food was outstanding - very fresh, excellent house made sausage and pate. The wine pairings were even better. Very good service. almost every seat has a view of the Chef at work too.

Great service, atmosphere, food and wine. Went here with my wife for date night. We ordered the rice cakes and fisherman's stew with some house wine and it was delicious. We topped off our evening with the chocolate nemesis. Food was presented really well add our waitress was prompt and courteous. I'd come back here again.

The food is always skillfully created. There are always a couple things we order that are really superb. While we can't take a large party and can't always get the night or time we want at this tiny restaurant, we always enjoy it. Everything has always been consistent until this last visit when our waitress want as thoroughly trained (wine/food/service etiquette) but nothing that dampened or evening. Something that really made the night was a selection of small desserts they brought automatically when we didn't order full dessert servings, simply because they knew we were celebrating a birthday. Continue to assure this place.

A classy restaurant with subtle candle lighting, their menu is nothing short of impressive. The restaurant staff made the experience special for both me and boyfriend. The scallops were beyond soft and paired with sauteed garbanzo beans and bell peppers. But the main entrees were the most memorable. A dish with veil meatballs and shelled pasta, the entree reminded me of my Ukranian hometown and the dishes my grandmother made me. As for my partner, he ordered the salmon which was placed on a bed of spinach and paired with equally delicious cheese toppings. I highly recommend the lemon pudding dessert as well. Three levels of lemon zest, cake, and icing. Perfect. Ten Tables was a spontaneous decision in the evening. We left the evening satisfied and eager to return soon.

I love this place--I try to go here at least once/week, time permitting. Both dining room and bar menu's are excellent, and the drinks are amazing. There desert menu is also great! They really do a good job trying to change their menu, desert, drinks around often, so going back never seems old. The servers/staff are also great as well! Great Job and keep it up!

We've been going to Ten Tables for special occasions for years and it never ceases to impress. All of their dishes are so creative. This is one of the few places with a vegetarian tasting menu, and it's impressively affordable. Highly recommend the wine pairing as well.
