UPDATE: the owner of city feed received well my review and critic and he refunded the sandwiches. I am happy that they paid attention to the customers and reached out. Looking forward to enjoy their delicious sandwiches in the future. Leaving my previous review for accountability purposes.

On 12/31 my husband and I went to City Feed for our last lunch of the year, craving their delicious Italian sandwiches. Unfortunately, to our disappointment, we received bagels instead of the regular bread we expected. The total cost for both sandwiches was almost $30, and we were more than willing to pay for them, as it was a special treat for us. Additionally, we purchased a pumpkin pie and cheese to support the business, bringing our total bill to $70. I originally tried to reach out through an Instagram message because we noticed a crowd at the business, and we didn't want to cause any inconvenience for the employee(s) responsible for making the sandwiches or taking our order. ...But,they didn't see their message despite of have more recent posts...

It would have been appreciated if we were informed that they were out of the regular bread, allowing us to decide whether we wanted the alternative or choose a different sandwich. I believe this is the minimum expectation for an order, especially when each sandwich costs around $15.

Great little store in the heart of JP. People are really nice and there is a good selection of grocery items. While everything is very expensive, it is high quality.

A cornucopia of a market, with a perfect representation of a worthy cause, such as helping to feed the "Worlds" 🌎🌎🌎 hungry.
With the Greatest Expectations for the "Starving" of our most magnificent Earth. 🙏🙏🙏💜💙💜🤙🤙🤙🧞‍♂

And an inspiring place to sip our Lattes, while listening to open-minded musical geniuses, such as Lennon, Simon &Garfunkel, Julian Lennon, and perhaps Abner Levine???😉 (with a little more work)

Great Cheers and hope for Oneness 💜
For our most Beloved World. 🤙🤙🤙

At the moment, this is the only neighborhood grocery store in Jamaica Plain that has a co-op feeling (though it's sadly not a co-op!).

Some things I love about it: they sell local produce, fish, and dairy (including milk in the reusable bottles); you can buy equal exchange and other brands of coffee in bulk; they have some decent specials every month ($4.50 organic mayo, $2 organic blueberries, $2 kale, etc.); they have a nice selection of beer and wine; and the employees are overall very friendly!

A few things I don't like are that: they don't sell more things in bulk; they sometimes overcharge if a sale price has not been entered into the computer, so I feel like I have to always look at the little checkout screen; and the prepared coffee is quite expensive (even when I bring my reusable thermos, it's nearly $3 for a regular small coffee).

Oh, two more things that are great! The hours, and the hot chocolate -- so delicious!

I've only had their coffee (which is amazing and deserves 5 stars), but I haven't tried grocery shopping here yet. But, I will say, they have some looooong bananas... (they're organic, too!)

Amazing place. Small neighborhood market with. Reminds you of a typical NYC style urban market and a bodega combined. The products and fresh and high quality. Friendly staff.
Pro tip: being in downtown Jamaica Plain, parking can be a pain. May need to park in residential areas at times.

Great verity of goods, take out food made to order, quality produce section. I like to grab lunch there, but morning coffee and such are also good.

Amazing place! Loved the selection of ethical coffee and local baked goods as well as the grocery options. No Wi-Fi though, so be aware.

So many great treats and hard to find items. Sandwiches and coffee are excellent though diminutive. The tiny alcohol section appears hand picked by someone thoughtful and a little experimental. Quality has a price, so I usually just go for a few items and a snack.

Their online ordering saved me one week when it felt like I couldn't safely go to any stores and everything was selling out. I really appreciate their courtesy and personal touch.

The smoked turkey sandwich is the greatest sandwich this world has ever seen. I'm not being hyperbolic, I felt like Sally with her Salad, but not faking it. Adding avocado is good, but makes it a bit harder to eat and I honestly think it's just as good without.

The staff here are kind and knowledgeable and they work here because they like the place - which means something, especially when you ask for recommendations.

The coffee drinks are good, however I go elsewhere if that's all I'm getting.

They have a little market that is not cheap (both in price and quality - you get what your pay for, but you will pay for it) which is super convenient. I wish everyone could afford to shop and eat here because it's a labor of love and it shows <3

Great little grocery store on centre street in jp. Very good at maintaining safe shopping conditions. They carry most food essentials, produce and fresh fish . Great breakfast sandwiches just get there before 11. They could do a bit better at keeping shelves stocked but overall a godsend for folks who are trying to avoid larger grocery stores during the pandemic.

Great selection of fresh local produce and organic products. The front of the store is mostly seating for the coffee shop so don't be disgusted by a big crowd. The staff is friendly and willing to take the time to help you find what you are looking for. Decent beer selection including gluten free options.

Didn't shop for food her, but snagged a delicious Sunday sandwich here. My two friends agreed, this place was delicious. No more expensive than any of the surrounding restaurants, this place is quick and easy to grab a bite and dash. Just don't expect smiles from the staff. They're on a mission to get your your food, not crack jokes.

Great neighborhood grocery store/coffee shop/lunch spot. The selection isn't large but everything is quality. The price of food to order is reasonable, especially for the quality. They also sell some alcohol here as well. Fun spot to shop or just come hang out. Might not be able to do your complete shopping trip here, but you can get most everything you'll need.

I love that this place using organic products, sandwiches are absolutely delicious!! Many vegan and vegetarian choices, fabulous chocolate choices, tea choices and coffees. Staff are always so friendly, and you can sit and watch the crowds go by with their dogs!!! Love that they use produce from local farms !!!

My boyfriend and I LOVE this place. If you're anything like us, we love to have variety in our food and we really enjoy organic everything. Lucky for us, City Feed & Supply is just that. Convenient, not over the top expensive, and quite yummy :)

Great coffee and sandwiches. Also have a lot of baked goods from local bakeries. Has decent high end grocery selection as well. Definitely worth stopping in while in the area. No wifi though to stay a while and work if that's what you're looking for.

A great place for coffee, sandwiches, and natural foods. They feature fair trade coffee and use it to make some of the best espresso drinks in JP. It's my go-to place for youghurt, they sell natural brands from local farms such as Narragansett Creamery and Side Hill Farm. If you're looking for kombucha, this is your place, they have a nice selection. Both locations have become community meeting places and there are places to sit and enjoy your purchases.
