Cool "hole in the wall" bar. Nice vibes, enjoyed it all overall. They did an EDM night, and it was a blast! Very good hot dogs, too!

Hots dogs are great ! Staff is really nice too. Limited entry so it's never crammed full. There's an enclosed outside space with tables. Cool little "dive" bar

We got turned away at the door because we weren't members. I get the vibe that they want to keep this a 'locals' bar, and, you know, I absolutely love that! After seeing the crowds of wedding parties, yuppie tourists, and noisy city people clogging up the rest of downtown Ashville, I can appreciate a bar that keeps it real for the locals. Every town needs a good dive. Props guys. You're doing good work.

Absolutely lovely bar. The folks who work there are consummate professionals, particularly Sequoia and Mitch. The drinks are great, the pool players are above average. If you don't tip 50% you're probably a war criminal.

I love this place...always down to earth and chill. They do have a couple really good cocktails and a bunch of fancy hot dog creations. Also...very likely spot for running into cute dogs ;).

Cozy and friendly spot to hide from the hordes of tourists. Super beer and cocktail selection and the wine ain't bad either. Food is incredible selection of dogs.

If you can find it, you wont be disappointed. Knew I loved the place when I saw the 51 Grill neon sign hanging above the bar in a place of honor. Great liquor selection and canned beers. Highly recommend having one of the Four Horsemen. The hotdog was amazing. I got the one with spaghetti on it, a collaboration with Buxton Hall chef Elliot Moss. There is a pool table.

My wife and I were passing through Asheville and stopped to eat at The Barksdale. We Can’t say enough good things about this fun and entertaining establishment! We loved the atmosphere, delicious food, and hospitality is second to none. Highly recommended!

The Barksdale is a dope place! The only place you can get a drink and a wrestling themed hotdog, that will make even the average "hotdog hater" a bit curious, and then converted intona Barksdale hot dog eater. The wrestling themed hotdogs go perfectly with the ambiance as professional wrestling memorabilia lines the walls for complete experience.

You need to know two people to get in and it’s an amazing dive bar in a string of really fun bars if you want to get away from the breweries!

Awesome late night spot especially with the crazy hotdogs. Fairly small, cool hip aesthetic, friendly efficient staff. Also, seriously, grab a hotdog.
