Mel's Superette

Stopped there for the first time last week. I love the feel of the store. It had a country feel in the city. The man behind was super nice. They have the home canned sausages there so I grab one for my husband. Holy cow those things are amazing! We made a special stop back by there to get another jar!! Highly recommended you stop in and get you a jar as well!!

Nice place! Very nice staff here, they were all in hanging out and telling stories with each other. It is a much older theme gas station but pretty cool layout.

Well established, family owned convenience store. They pretty much have all the essentials and they have a large selection of cold beer.

This family run business . Has to be one of the best things for keeping our money local.. They have mastered the hospitality of an old General Store in bustling part of our City. Not to mention Coldest and Cheapest Beer this side of the Mississippi. Thanks Guys Wayne Runt's son

Great folks 👍🏻 and have a great selection of homemade apple butter, pickled sausage 's and chow chow! Not too pricey! Love the down home feel of the store !

I was saddened to hear this place will be losing their building due to the expansion of US 321. They have the best folks in the world, great beer and tobacco prices. Please open a new location!

I go to Mells almost daily. Its like a friendly old ttmer store yet updated some. Everyone love's this Family ran store and will even allow you to smoke inside. Cool right? I sadly would like those who don't know Mell passed away recently he will be missed by all in Hickory,N.C. Everyone loved Mell but the family members intend to keep his Covieant Store/ Gas station and Kerosene supplier continuing to stay open as well as Legend God Bless this wonderful Family!!!!

Pre covid only store in hickory u could still smoke a cig in. Not sure now since a mask is required to enter either way I'd wear a mask proudly for them guys

Nice little place that offers an excellent selection of beverages. I especially like the more obscure beers brands they they stock
