The Double Crown

MOST EXCELLENT DIVE BAR! I love this place! My daughter in law and her husband introduced me to this place for the first time this past weekend. I wish I lived closer so that I could go here more frequently.

GREAT selection of beer, liquor and other drinks. The decor/atmosphere is excellent! Inside space is very welcoming and comfortable. Lots of outside seating (but it was really cold the night we were there so we stayed inside).

Bartender was nice and helpful.

Looks like they have all kinds of events all the time --- something for everybody.

I WILL BE BACK!

Great late night spot to catch live music or even participate in karaoke. Drinks a priced very well and every time I’m in town I try to come visit and enjoy the crowd.

I was walking past this joint and heard some amazing music, so wandered in to find myself in a happy, vibrant neighborhood bar with an amazing blues musician (The Blue Ridge Boy) then stayed for the astounding, super hot Firecracker Jazz Band!! I will definitely return!!

Great little dive bar. I came here on a Sunday karaoke night. Started out at 10 pretty slow but as the night went on the place got pretty hopping. A lot of fun and the locals talked to me as a regular. The only miniscule down point was the the bartenders didn't rinse out the mixing shaker cups after each cocktail they made but I didn't deduct points for that because it was pretty busy. All in all I would come back when visiting again.

Had an amazing time. Initially reluctant based on some pics, but that doesn't always tell the whole story. Atmosphere was very relaxed and mellow with a DJ playing jazz on vinyl so the records sounded cool and vintage. Staff and patrons were friendly. Will be back.

Awesome spot hidden in west asheville! Loved the decor and music. Plenty of outdoor seating and inside as well. Definitely bring your friends!

buford is the most amazing and beautiful door man ive ever experienced. make sure carl is the bartender bc he makes the best green teas shots, havent had a better.

Fun and friendly neighborhood bar. Good entertainment. Different offerings on different evenings. Staff very hospitable. Only drawback it's small and street parking.

Asheville needs to retain and build more places like Double Crown! Western Wednesday’s are an awesome vibe. It looks a little intimidating being a dive bar, but the workers were nice and the attendance was a good time. Live band and decorations also enhance it. Best classic bar in town!

Chill private club, felt a little bit like a piece of old Asheville. Still felt like a place someone might get in a fight deapite the doorman actively saying "no fighting" is in the rules, just had thst atmosphere around the place.

Strong shots, you can dance freely!

Who spins 45's. They do! Loved the vibe. All genres of music and good drinks! When you see an opening for the bathroom GO! (And take a sharpie)

The Double Crown is an excellent dive bar, one of the most fun ones I've visited. Like many NC bars, you have to pay $1 to become a lifetime member of their "private club" and drink. They have an awesome selection of whiskey at very reasonable prices. The bartenders are also extremely friendly and knowledgeable. This is definitely one of Asheville's best bars.

There are few things better than being at the Double Crown on a Saturday night when Whitney Shroyer is DJing (playing deep soul, garage, all kinds of fantastic songs you rarely hear being played anymore). People are actually there for the MUSIC, to DANCE. The world needs more places like this!

Great dive bar. Industry friendly/local spot. Sexy partitioned booths. Sunday night karaoke. 2 gender neutral bathrooms (if you’re one who sits, you may just choose to squat). Outdoor space for drinking & smoking. Artist drawing nude caricatures when I went. Never a dull time.

Usually starts filling up around 10. Karaoke nights are a big draw. If they have a gospel band in from out of town, stick around, it's always killer. Bartenders remember my face and what I drink. Largest whiskey/bourbon selection in town. Low lights, graffiti tags everywhere, a classic dive bar.

Went here on a Sunday and karaoke was happening. I had a blast, great vibe, decor and friendly locals. I m an out of towner and had no issues getting in as others have said. Folks were hella cool and I love this place. Definitely will be back when I m in town again.

This is a gem of a place. Good Ole dive.
