Xplor Preschool & School Age Care

My little has been at this Xplor location since he was 6 weeks old and we just don’t have enough great things to say about them. He is a very particular child and I’m a very ‘particular’ mom. I am pretty particular about many things and they accommodate him and I perfectly. I’m pretty vocal about specific things he can eat or have and they follow my requests. They don’t give us any issue with why we may or may not want certain snacks or dyes; etc they understand that each family is doing what is best for their kids.

The principal and asst principal have been there for years; Christine and Pam are both amazing. Both recently promoted to their current roles from Asst Principal and Office Manager to Principal and Asst Principal respectively. They have been there longer than the 2 years we have been there and both are truly loved by the kids and the parents. So many older siblings I see come through with their parents to pick up younger siblings still go out of their way to say hi and give hugs to Christine and Pam. As a parent this speaks volumes to me! Are they perfect? No, no place is. However, any time I have ever had an issue they listen and take corrective action; though all our issues have been small minor ‘everyday’ things; nothing big.

I have been impressed with how much they are truly working and teaching the kids; mine is 2 right now and even before he entered the beginners class I knew his teachers were working on learning thru play. Little doesn’t have issues going to school and actually loves to go see his friends.

We have 2 kids attending Xplor and we love it here. The curriculum is great at every age, our kids learn so much and love going to school. Ms. Pam, Ms. Christine and all of the staff are the best! Our kids have thrived going to Xplor.

My son has been going here for 2 years now and he absolutely loves it! The staff is so friendly and welcoming! They bus to and from school and have an amazing summer program! I couldn’t be more happy and would recommend them to anyone!

My kids are happy and LOVED by the staff. Ms. Christine, Ms. Tanya and Ms. Pam are just a few of the staff that have helped my 4 year old son SO MUCH. He was diagnosed with ADHD, ODD and Hypersensitivity Sensory Processing Disorder. The last school we were at the director singled out my son, told the teachers to lie to me and say he always had bad days (even if he had a good day), talked so negatively to him and about him. I explained my concerns to the owner and I was blown off. I was just told to talk my concerns out with the director🙄. This was all before his diagnosis. The Staff at Xplor has been patient and communicative about all things involving the struggles my son goes through as well as helping me figure out what we can do together to help him succeed. He has his days but I cannot thank the Staff at Xplor enough for all they have done for my babies!! My 1 year old is stubborn and has big stranger danger but she LOVES going to school❤ I will ALWAYS recommend Xplor Preschool McKinney to everyone I know! We LOVE Xplor!!!

If you are looking for a school for your child i would highly recommend Xplor. I have two kids enrolled and we have been here for over a year. I adore the teachers that my children have had especially Miss Pam i couldn't say anything negative about her! All the teachers we have had so far have been great with my children and communicating with me. I like that the school has extra activities for the kids to do during the day and enough space for all the kids. The staff is fantastic and the building is in great condition i would recommend the school to anyone!!

I researched several daycare facilities before my child would need to enroll. Xplor in McKinney was, by far, the best one we visited. I love that they have a weekly curriculum, even for the babies. They send photos of my child throughout the day, so I know what activities he is involved in. The teachers are great and always keep him engaged and learning.

My school age son & pre-K son go to Xplor. They love it and all the staff. There communications home are diligent. They are very good at communicating any incidents. When we’ve expressed concern over normal school issues like minor bullying in the school age room they took it seriously & addressed the concerns without issue. The little extras they do are wonderful. Coffee in the mornings, snacks for the kiddos heading home. Theme days, bike days, water wars, Popcorn bars....There is always something interesting going on. The staff are friendly & welcoming. We love it there!

One of the best schools around! Tanya and her team are phenomenal with the kids and making sure they are learning but also having fun. We’ve been coming to Xplor Mckinney for over 7 years with both boys, and it’s always been a great place. What’s different about Tanya’s leadership, is the environment where every kids feels welcome, loved and can’t wait to come back the next day.

My child loves her teacher Ms. Yogi. I feel so proud seeing my child learning and creating things in her class. Although I have to drive out of my way to drop her off in the mornings, I would do it as many times as I have to in order for her to get the quality of learning she gets at Xplor. I love the communication app that keeps me informed and the notes written by the staff are so helpful. I am so glad to have her here.

Our son Miles has been going here for almost 2 years and we love it! The teachers and the rest of the staff are amazing and always upbeat and smiling! Our son loves going to school and has learned so much thank you so much for taking such great care of him while we work!

I am the Manager of AquaKids next to Xplor and although I cannot speak to the childcare or instruction, I can speak to the staff that I have interacted with over the last 1.5 years. We started building in March of 2017 and I stopped in around January of 2017 to introduce myself. I met the Assistant Director Matt and the former Director, Kay. Over the next 1.5 years from there, I met the new Director, Hannah along with numerous other employees. ALL employees that I have come in contact with have been kind, caring, and very helpful.

We have been very happy with the care at Xplor Preschool McKinney! The teachers are all excellent and would recommend it to anyone in the area!

We have used Xplor for almost 4 years now and have been very happy. My kids are excited each morning to come here!

My daughter has bloomed since she started Xplor! Couldn’t have asked for a better teachers!

***PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF THE HEARTACHE AND DO NOT ENROLL YOUR CHILD INTO XPLOR***

My 1 year old son sadly had to be a lesson for their facility to practice better toddler safety precautions. However, that isn’t my only complaint.

Don’t let the friendly faces and fake smiles fool you.

We enrolled our son in March 2023, we started off as part-time. The only problem we had at first was constant diaper rashes. My son never had a diaper rash until he started at Xplor then had them every other week. Most days when I would pick him up he would have poop & yes I would stay there and change my sons diaper so they could see that I knew they weren’t changing him towards the end of the day. I would constantly ask his teachers to make sure and check him frequently bc he has sensitive skin and kept getting diaper rashes but nothing was ever corrected.

Then in July 2023 we made the decision to enroll him in full time because I was starting a traditional Mon- Fri job. That’s when I noticed my baby would come home almost every other day with an injury… at first I thought maybe it was normal because he’s a toddler learning how to walk but what drew the line for me was when I picked him up from school, he has a huge hematoma bruise on his forehead and his teacher telling me he fell off the table. I was not notified when the incident happened. My poor son was probably in so much pain because of something that could’ve been PREVENTED. They are not nurses or doctors, it is not their right to distinguish if a child needs medical assistance. A PARENT MUST BE CALLED FOR A SERIOUS INJURY. Any head injury that a child sustains is SERIOUS. It broke my heart knowing what happened and I wasn’t even aware until picking him up. I had a talk with the principal the next morning, she was of course out of office the day of the incident and claimed she would have a talk with teacher and train better. THAT SAME DAY I received a call 2 hours later telling me Alonso fell off the table again! I could only afford to take him out of daycare for 2 days. I started looking for a new daycare immediately. But for the whole next week I woke up every day dreading for my son to go to a place he was constantly getting hurt. Luckily I found an amazing daycare where he’s had NO INJURIES and NO DIAPER RASH. I asked for a refund for 2 weeks due to the trauma Xplor caused my family and I, and they declined. They only say “It’s a learning opportunity”. THIS IS A CHILDS LIFE.

I would hate for any parent to experience what we have gone through or for any other children to get hurt due to Xplor’s poor safety precautions. Do your research! They have had 5 reports against them in the last 5 years, that’s 1 too many!
