Hampton Inn & Suites Portsmouth/Downtown

Great from start to finish. Extremely clean from the time you enter the door all the way to your room. There's a small refrigerator in our room which was helpful, sometimes you can't even get those anymore. Easy walk to all the shops.

We booked a 1 night stay in a king room. Diamond status is recognized with a welcome gift bag with two waters and snacks. We were also put on a higher floor as per our preferences and in a corner room with a better view (please note this location doesn't really have much of a view, but you can catch a beautiful sunset from higher floors)

Pros:
- Rooms are clean and somewhat spacious compared to other Hampton Inn's in other cities
- They are within walking distance of many great restaurants and right in town

Cons:
- Expensive parking, but it is in line with parking in most cities these days

It's a solid choice if you're coming through Portsmouth. For a quick stop it was perfect for our needs.

First impressions are good. Wonderful stay from checking in very freindly an helpful staff. Room was great very modern motel. Good water pressure in room . Nice indoor pool was nice but best was the buffet breakfast in the morning. Close to town an transit bus coast. Buses. Very enjoyable stay

We loved our stay at the Hampton Inn and Suites!!! This was our first time staying at a hotel with our toddler in tow. The pool was the perfect size for them. The morning breakfast was excellent. Rooms spotless. Location you can’t beat. Thank you!

Spent our anniversary weekend. Clean , nice rooms.
Beds are a little uncomfortable. Trouble sleeping.
Big downer: kids running through the halls screaming. For 250.00 a night, I should not have been awakened by that.

We found the Hampton Inn at downtown Portsmouth to be very clean and modern, staff was very friendly and courteous, our room was very nice, the bed was comfortable, came with a free breakfast as well. The location was great, walking distance to all the restaurants and shops, we went to Jimmy's Jazz and Blues which was a short walk from the hotel, and saw a great show, would very highly recommend

This place is amazing! Yes, it would be nice for a hot tub, however, everything was on point and the staff were amazing! Meg was quick to greet us and handle all of our needs. Room was clean and comfortable and everyone made it so memorable for us. We will be back. Thank you!

Clean, pleasant hotel in the heart of Portsmouth. Very close to multiple other spots in the surrounding area. Good spot for a home base. Came for a wedding and fell in love with the small town but “city” feel of the area. Room was clean and the staff was very helpful and attentive when they needed to be. Parking is a bit interesting if you don’t want to park in the garage but the staff was nice enough to assist with giving good tips. Overall, great experience and would visit again.

We spent our honeymoon here. The entire hotel: room, breakfast area, lobby, fitness center, and elevators were very clean. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. They remembered who we were every time we came in with friendly smiles and kind remarks. The hotel is in the perfect area of the city. It is within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The valets were also extremely friendly and quickly got our car whenever we needed it.

Our stay was for our wedding anniversary which I put in the notes when I booked months ago. We arrived to find in our room a nice card and a bag of snacks to celebrate our Anniversary! Great location nearby to restaurants and plenty of shopping. Will stay here again

Staff is helpful and friendly. Room is clean and hotel is located near several restaurants and shops. Gym is nice, clean and spacious. Breakfast options are good too, from eggs, potatoes, yogurt, waffles, fruit and pastries.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We arrived without a reservation in the evening and they quickly set us up with a room. The hotel is super clean, and the beds were very comfortable. My daughter, granddaughter, and I had booked a different hotel on line which was closer to Ogunquit Maine, only to find the hotel that we booked was disgusting, so we left. We knew we should have stayed at a Hilton but had trouble finding one close by, so we drove until we found one in Portsmouth New Hampshire. We were SO THANKFUL! It was late and the staff was amazing! We had a room within minutes, dinner recommendations, and a great night sleep on super comfy beds. I can't say enough how friendly and welcoming the staff was and will definitely return!!!

The hotel is clean. The staff is friendly. Close to all the residents & shops in Portsmouth!! You can bring your dogs. They have a snack store and vending machines at the front desk. Valet parking was nice. Great location. Very accommodating. Breakfast was good. The pool is nice.

I was trying to find a more original and historically interesting boutique hotel in Portsmouth for a concert at the Music Hall. Nothing was available so I "settled" on the Hampton Inn.

It was actually a great hotel. The rooms were fresh with cool showers, really nice hair and skin products, a good quality breakfast (free!), and yummy coffee. The staff was incredibly warm and welcoming. I did not use the fitness center so I can't comment on that. Two minute walk to everything you want! I would stay there again.

This is a very nice property located in the heart of Portsmouth. There are many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and responsive. The property is well maintained and clean. It was quiet at night with no interruptions while sleeping. Our room was very nice with a large walk-in shower and plenty of power outlets to charge devices. The night light in the bathroom is a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

Had a very enjoyable stay at the Hampton Inn. The location is right in the middle of everything. Most restaurants are a minute walk from the hotel. The lobby looks brand new and modern. The room was clean and comfy. The breakfast had a really nice spread and the waffle maker was a nice touch. There is valet and an option to get your car yourself which was easy. Only thing was they didn’t specify you had to move your car by 2:30 after check out and I don’t think the desk knew I didn’t know that. Other than that everything went smoothly and I definitely recommend staying here!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The lobby and the room that I had were both very clean and well organized. I thought that the stuff was extremely friendly and you can’t be at the location. I did think the valet parking was a little bit pricey, but that is my only complaint. Overall, this place was wonderful!

Overall, excellent. People that work at this hotel were genuine about care for guests from valet, front desk , cleaning team & breakfast lady. Very clean & comfortable. Beautiful night after traveling and staying at other Hampton inns from Florida to Maine. This hotel is what others should look at in caring for guests. We were anxious to return home but this hotel allowed us to rest well. The owner of this hotel should manage with his team how a hotel should be. Excellent quality team & service & comfort. So perfect & clean. Thank you to the employees who care about their responsibility to provide comfort to their guest!!!
