Bill Hart can be a surly SOB, but I love him for it. He makes the best pies, cheesecake, etc. in Seattle.. by a long shot. Hours are unpredictable, and customer service/experience is questionable at best, but this is the spot if you want the best. Long lines, slow service, closed when they say they’re open, staff annoyed by customers… it’s like a Sienfeld sketch. AND I’M HERE FOR IT. The pies are THAT good.

Baked from the Hart makes some really good pies. I heard about them a couple years ago but only just popped by looking for some sweet potato pie. I placed my order online and while it was a little arbitrary when I could pick up the pies, a quick phone call cleared everything up. I visited and picked up my order of a medium sweet potato pie as well as sweet bean, tropical chess, pumpkin pie, peach cobbler, and apple pie tarts. All of the pies were delicious. The crusts were rich and buttery, and some were nice and crispy. The sweet potato pie was the right amount of sweetness and the spices were not overpowering. The tropical chess had an intriguing mix of coconut, lemon, and lime flavors which did evoke a tropical vibe. My favorite overall though was the sweet bean pie. I have never had a bean pie, but I've gotta say I wish more people sold these things because it was sweet and had a wonderful blend of spices - evoked fall flavors. One thing to note is that the pies come in three sizes: regular, medium, and tart. The medium size is maybe 5 inches in diameter and the tarts are the size of the plastic ramekins that you see ketchup and tartar sauce in. The sizes may seem small for the price but the flavor is worth it. I personally think $5 to $7.50 is a fair price in Seattle when you see cake slices from higher-end places going for about $5-7 as well. One last thing to note is that the person I talked to, Guyana (apologies if I got her name wrong), is extremely friendly and personable. She made me feel very welcome. I recommend paying a visit sometime.

This was our first time here. We drove an hour to come and get peach cobbler pie. It’s the best peach cobbler pie we have ever had. Mr. Bill, the owner was very friendly and gave some words of encouragement to my teenage son.

After my very first bite of the Honey Sweet Potato Cornbread I turned towards my husband and said, "This pie guy has gotta have a fat wife" No insult intended, I just know that The Pie Guy is going to make this wife full fat and happy. Good thing I cut it in half first... I plan to eat my feelings about the corn bread tonight, in the form of the most delicious Cheese Cake.

Nice cozy bake shop that has amazing homemade pie. When you first walk in it's warm and comfortable, like you're home. The pecan pie is my favorite with BlackBerry coming in as my #2. Both amazing pies. The sweet potato pie is pretty good, I'm not much of a sweet potato person but this is one I'll devour. You can even purchase small ones if you want a small snack Hands down best pie in SEATTLE!

My husband and I tried the sweet bean & pecan pies, along with the blackberry cobbler. I loved all of the pies, and the sweet bean was my favorite- like a cross between a sweet potato and pumpkin pie, with a nice smooth texture. The cobbler was amazing, not too sweet with a good crust-to-filling ratio. The owner, Bill, recommended that I warm it up and I’m glad I did! The pecan pie reminded me of back home in South Carolina- sweet, sticky, and a tiny hint of smokiness from the toasted pecans. The best part of my experience was chatting with Bill and learning more about him and his business. Will be back soon, highly recommend- Be sure to grab a paper on your way out!

My boyfriend is from the south and complained that there weren’t any good southern food options in Seattle. I found Baked from the Hart and brought home his favorite (a pecan pie) for his bday. I’ve never seen him so happy! Bill is so talented and so kind! Will be coming here for a looooong time!

These pies are amazing! The variety of pies and the story behind the business is really inspiring. There is a nice little place to sit and enjoy a coffee and indulge your sweet tooth. Or just order them to go. There are small, medium, and large sizes of the pies. The tarts are great bite size party favors. The mediums are great for a slice for yourself and the large is perfect for sharing with others. Support the Pie Guy!

I super dig this little place! Coworkers loved the mini pies and tarts. Totally worth the price. And Mr. Hart is pretty cool, so that's bonus :)

By far the best pies I have had out of Seattle. The space is very pleasant, and I am looking forward to enjoying it post-COVID. The prices are a little high, but I feel you will not be disappointed with the flavor and quality of the pie. The chess pie had a beautiful consistency and buttermilk flavor, and the pecan pie had a amazing and silky filling. I can't way to try more of the options.

These pies are so insanely good. The owner, Bill, is amazing and really came through for us on a huge order of 600 mini-pies. I couldn’t believe that he was able to do that for us with just a days notice. I can’t say enough good things about him and his pies. I’ve tried them all and my favorites are Pecan, Coconut and the Sweet Potato.
