Geitner Park

Beautiful park next to the water with a picnic area, fishing spots, a paved walking and biking trail as well as more advanced biking trails throughout the wooded area.
The picnic area is in the smaller side with three picnic tables, one of which is roofed with a brick fireplace. There is a nice wooden deck going over the water and great for pictures.

We had a great walk/hike of about 2 miles today at Geitner Park in Hickory, NC with grandkids Connor and Aria along the newly opened portion of the "River Walk". We can't wait until all is completely open!!!

The waterfront park which overlooks Lake Hickory features an activity building, picnic shelter with tables and grills, gazebo, walking and nature trails, boat dock and ramp, a fishing pier, rest rooms and a system of mountain biking trails which includes a 1.8-mile beginner flow trail, a 4-mile intermediate loop, a pump track for both advanced and beginner riders, and an advanced jump line for more skilled riders.

So, it has a little bit for everyone! And it's in our "back yard" of sorts so we can be there in about 10 to 15 minutes!!! So we make the most of it!!!

You know,I went to this place before but when my daughter and my future son in law took me here, I saw new things, I had no idea there were so many paths. And climbing steps is good for knee strength and good for cardio. I really enjoyed the scenery. Can't wait till it's so green.

I live down the street from this park and when I discovered it I was excited because I moved from the beaches of California and I expected that I probably won't see the water anytime soon, but alas.....I'm surrounded by water and so excited about it! Here are some pictures of this beautiful park.

Lovely place for a sit down to clear the mind or enjoy a beautiful day on the lakeside. The have some walking trails too that are nice.

It is a great place for fishing 🎣 laying back enjoying the sun it is a great place for hiking and also getting a beautiful view of the lake picnic is also awesome

Wonderful place to look at nature and walk the dog. The bike trails look awesome as well.

I can't wait for the walking bridge to open for use. Great cardio work out walking the new parts that are open now. Spacious, wide walkway for many to be on at one time. Someone with motorized scooters due to limited mobility could get out and enjoy the woods and river views. Careful to know a few steep inclines and declines so caution on that.

A mix of natural trails and cement paths with great views of lake hickory. I could smell some charcoal grills going, and people were picnicking at the pavilion. Good park for all ages. Lots of people walking dogs And several more were fishing from the shore and pier. Very nice park to visit.

I love this park. It’s a great spot for road biking, mountain biking and a simple walk.

We are building parts of the riverwalk. It starts at geitner and finishes at the lake with a bridge that will extend out in the lake for a bit.

It's a nice place to walk around. The paths are very well-maintained and there's plenty of parking whenever I go there.

A wonderful place for at least a three mile walk, rain or shine.

Beautiful place to walk and ride bike with your family and friends or by your self, very safety place

Love this place. My wife and I come here for picnics or just to go for a wilderness walk and it's beautiful. It's never been overly packed and they keep the trails clean. There's even an ice cream truck that drives through sometimes.
