Lovely Apartments! Amazing Landlords! Very responsive when you contact them!!! Absolutely adore my Studio Apt!

I spent my senior year at Eastern in the one bedroom apartments at "The Fields" on Arthur Ave/Garfield Ave and it was a perfect fit. I was initially concerned since it seems slightly further from campus than other properties, however, the walk to class is quicker than I expected. On the first day of classes I timed the walk to campus from my apartment to get a feel for when I should leave for class and it only took me 6 minutes. The single family homes in the neighborhood look nice and are mostly owned by non-student families which keeps the neighborhood feeling quiet and safer than other areas in town. The other tenants respect each other's privacy and mostly keep to themselves but are generally pretty friendly and usually say hello or good morning in passing. I have only had issues with parking on a few occasions where visitors had parked in the lot outside of my building during the day to where I had to park a few spots further away from my building, however it was never a long-term issue and most of the time the cars were moved within a few hours (and never overnight). The apartments are extremely clean and very well kept, and aside from a few routine maintenance items such as air filter replacement, fire alarm check, etc., which are to be expected, I had absolutely no problems with appliances, fixtures, or any other aspect of the apartment. The appliances are all seemingly new/updated and were pretty energy efficient so my utility costs were fairly low. As a whole, PP&W was very responsive to every question I had for them and was extremely professional when contacting about upcoming showings or repairs giving at least 48 hours notice beforehand. The lease agreement is pretty standard and as long as you do your part to follow the contract there shouldn't be any instances where PP&W doesn't uphold their end of the agreement. If you are looking for a place to rent I highly recommend reaching out to PP&W properties and more specifically ask about seeing "The Fields" apartments, you won't be disappointed!

I rented from PP&W for the 16-17 school year and it was a great experience. Everything from the office staff to the actual apartment was fantastic. When I moved in the apartment was so clean it looked like I was the first one to ever live there. I regularly went to the office to pay rent and the office ladies were always ready to strike up a conversation and ask how the apartment was and how your school year is going. Throughout the year I did not have anything break in the apartment but they were always there to make sure the apartment was satisfactory. The apartments are very competitively priced for the area and you get more than you pay for compared to other landlords in town. Having rented from other landlords in Charleston I would only recommend PP&W.

I have rented from several companies in the Charleston area and PP&W is by far the best. The staff is extremely friendly and very personable. From the day of the apartment showing to signing the lease and everything in between, PP&W made the process extremely easy and smooth. If ever anything is needed, they are always accessible and quick to respond. The apartments are within walking distance of campus. It is a safe area and the parking lot is also well lit so I never feel unsafe when coming home after dark (a big, big plus!) The apartments are the perfect size and have that “home sweet home” feel. The rental price is extremely reasonable, especially for college students or young professionals. I highly recommend renting with them!!

Currently renting a studio apartment at 1301 Garfield (Apt 5) for nearly one year. Had no issues; it is cute, clean, quiet, and updated! Biggest plus was full size stacked laundry with many options. The downside to this specific apartment is that it is second story on the south side of the building which means it stays really warm since it gets full sun dawn through dusk. There is a terrific cross breeze though if you open windows.

I came to Charleston for a one year MA program at EIU. Debbie worked with me on my move in date (needed the apartment 45 days after the available date) and is currently working with me so I can get to Colorado a bit sooner. Will update after my lease closes with any additional information.

PP&W has treated us absolutely fantastic. We stopped and looked at a few different properties and you can see that they take very good care of them. I can say that their properties are a lot more clean than some of the other rental properties in the area as well as more new and updated. I rent with them currently & they really care about their tenants! Anytime I need something fixed someone is there that day, and they’re always so friendly!

My husband and I have spent the last two years renting from PPW and we could not have had a better experience! The staff at PPW are professional and friendly. The apartments are nicely updated and our maintenance requests were always answered ASAP. These apartments are perfect for college students or young professionals! I will always recommend PPW Properties to people looking to rent!

This is an incredible company! The unit we rented for our son was excellent and they gave unbelievable customer service!! Anyone looking for a rental in Charleston needs to only look here for the best!! Kudos PP&W!!

Tomorrow our one year lease comes to an end. There were a couple high an lows through out the year but overall awesome place. Apartment was nice an exactly as advertised overall management an maintenance rocked saved us a couple times for being locked out even before hours ! Grass always cut problems always fixed. Would recommend to any college kids starting out !

The landlord seemed very nice, ( using the realtor charm im sure ) at first. We loved the house and moved right in. There were immediate problems; the place reaked of cat spray/pee in certain rooms. There was an abundance of flees through out the house, and the vents and dirt and grim in there was so bad I have a severe allergic reaction for nearly a week that almost put me in the hospital. When I called their office I was always told the same thing " ill talk to "whomever" and get back with you on that" sometimes it was days before I got any type of response. I was also lied to, the landlord saying he "deep cleaned the whole house and there was no cat smell present for several days after" which of course is complete bullcrap. I have also heard from several reliable sources ( whom I will not say the names of or the names of the companies) that these people are not good people. Those who had a good experience with these people and gave them 5 stars, you are extremely lucky and im happy you didn't have to go through the nightmare I had to and ( 2 weeks in now ) are still going through.( to clarify, I'm not in the apartments, im in a house, so that might be why I had such a bad experience).

They take forever to cash your check. They never keep up with the property. Do not even think for one minute you will get your security deposit back. Upon moving in, the place had so much damage and unfixed items that could have been fixed over the summer. Then they blame you as if it wansnt broken in the first place.
