Cozy, casual family cafe with hearty classic food. The breakfast food is very good, I enjoyed the country fried steak and eggs with a side of hash browns. They also have coffee and tea lattes, desserts and sweet buns. I had chocolate silk pie and it was very light, fluffy and tasty. Overall, very satisfying food with cozy atmosphere.

I did order a medium well steak I may say that steak was WELL WELL done lol but this place is still my go to breakfast in highland area bakery is a 10

I visited here on 5/12/24 for breakfast on day #2 of my vacation. I ordered one of their specials the Crab Cake Eggs Benedict with a fruit bowl and shared a Caramel Roll with the table. The Benedict was absolutely divine, the fruit was so fresh with a nice assortment and the caramel roll wasn't overly sweet. One of the best breakfasts I've ever had hands down.

Perfect place to stop for breakfast before a morning flight at MSP. Extremely good value, as well: The food was delicious, the portions were generous, and food for three people was under $50. Plus, the atmosphere was really nice and the service was great. I'll be back the next time I'm flying out of the cities, for sure.

The cinnamon roll frosting is SO good!

I usually have the breakfast burrito (which is amazing) but this time I tried the taco salad. With or without the taco shell its wonderful! The sauce they put on it is not too hot and not too mild, it’s perfect! You can also choose chips on the side instead! I also can’t go here without having the bacon!! The bacon is a must!

Amazing place: generous portions, friendly staff, and most importantly, DELICIOUS FOOD!! This has been on our list to visit for ages and we finally made it. I'm so glad we did. It's like the TARDIS, bigger on the inside and full of flavor and taste. Absolutely worth a stop on your next visit to Highland Park. Coffee and caramel rolls are incredible!!

Great old school cafe with soups, salads, and pastries made from scratch. Get here early if you want all choices for soup, the chalkboard gets erased as they gone for the day.

We purchased a full Thanksgiving dinner with extras from Yum Yum Catering which was prepared here and picked up hot and ready to serve! It was a wonderful dinner for 12 people! A traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings and a pumpkin pie! It could not have been any better. Thank you Highland Cafe & Bakery!

Always a diverse crowd, great neighborhood place, a real family owned businesses with all the feels NON COMMERCIAL!!! We have been coming here for 8 yrs. Their breakfast and lunch is awesome.....even a simple house salad is great!

I ordered my food on DoorDash and when I arrived to pick it up there was a woman helping what looked to be a man with obvious mental issues. She was getting him a coffee. She was so kind and patient with him and the amount of care with him was amazing. When done he left and she apologized for my wait and said sometimes you just deserve a lil treat. She looked like she was ready to cry. She was such a seeet woman!!

It's a small place but the customer service is excellent and the food is good and served quickly. Come in and sit where you want.

A fantastic little local joint that recently opened. New restaurant smell. Clean, open atmosphere, baked goods in a case near the front door. The french fries are top notch. Your eyes might pass quickly over the turkey melt on the menu, but don't. It's delicious. Don't quote me but everything here looks handmade, making this a nice option to all the franchise food in this area.

I came here just to find a place to eat and rest while I waited for a friend, and was so pleasantly surprised at the wonderful service I received as well as the fantastic Chai+Matcha drink (I didn't even know that was a thing!)☕

This is my go-to place for breakfast and lunch. Affordable breakfast specials and daily lunch items. I love their spinach salad with hot bacon dressing. BLT. Homemade soups. The staff is part of the appeal. They really treat you like family, esp. If you are a regular.

Highly highly underrated. Ive been all over the metro and this one is a gem. Best pancakes in town and I include highland grill and hen house in that list. I give highland cafe the nod. Not the best environment a little cramped but at 4.4 I have to bump this place it should be a min 4.7 or higher. Good prices too.
